Star Wars: The Acolyte is not a masterpiece but it is also not the worst Star Wars show. Did we all so quickly forget The Book of Boba Fett? And that's not even terrible, just unfortunately mediocre. The Acolyte has kept me guessing from the very beginner and my only major criticism is the abrupt ending of each episode. Maybe this would've worked better as a film but I digress. What do you think of The Acolyte?

Bruh, did you just say Rey and Ren fight after killing Snoke was good? It looked cool at first but the amount of irrational moves where guardians, elite sith force, weren't just striking made Star wars a joke

Wow, this comes from someone who saw the first movie on opening night. You have no clue about what Star Wars really is. And if you liked Rian Johnson's The Last Jedi, you are no fan of Star Wars.

I honestly questioned most people's tastes in movies when they defend stuff like the last Jedi as good. It is one of the few movies that is objectively bad. People will use it for years to come as what not to do for movies. Everyone has different tastes, even I will admit that I like things most won't but at the end of the day, if I were to say something is good or bad solely based on that, no movie would be good.

I would say no. It's not THAT BAD jut it's not that great either. I recall when "Andor" first started viewers complained about this, that and the other thing. It wasn't until a number of episodes in that "Andor" began to grab viewers and hold them. Luthen's speach locked them in. They loved it! The word went out that Tony Gilroy should take over everything Star Wars. I wouldn'y call "The Acolyte" on the same level as "Andor", but the last episode caught my attention. Despite a clunky start, I would like to think we are getting into the interesting part of the story.

LMAO!!! I think the 13% review score says otherwise. This guy says he likes what Rian Johnson did with the sequels. You mean the part where Rian Johnson and JJ Abrams didn't communicate and write a coherent story. People are allowed to dislike or hate whatever they want. Stop telling people to blindly agree with your shilling of this garbage Star Wars content that Disney is producing. Star Wars deserves way better production and more time in the oven to become something extra. I am just picturing Barista Bran being chained up somewhere in Kathleen Kennedy's basement. Blink twice if you're being held captive and forced to spew out this verbal diarrhea.

I disagree on almost everything you said. I do not see any mystery in this show. You call it a mystery and then proceed to say how Sith reveal confirmed expectation. Also, people are not mad the story doesn't fit their expectations, people are disappointed it breaks the previously told stories and makes them not have any sense at all or diminish what they were about. It is in most cases complete opposite of what this Universe was in original trilogy. That is complete disregard and disrespect to the stories already told. This is similar to GoT season 7 and 8 when people started teleporting across Westeros, started wearing plot armor... Also, regardless of all that, even as a standalone project, the story is not engaging in any way. It is very predictable. Characters are either annoying or unimportant, dialogs are poor, many scenes exist just because and do not move plot forward. Many choices do not make any sense whatsoever, so it just feels lazy. It is much easier to call fans angry and blame it on them rather than face the fact you did a very poor job on the show (talking about the creators).

And I disagree with almost everything you said while the Qimir’s reveal was painfully obvious. The real intrigue is what happened to the witches. We know Sol and the Jedi played some part in it. But how much? Did they start the fire? Sorry but at this point in time the story doesn’t break canon. Ki Adi Mundi’s age was only established in legends not canon, so they can give whatever age they want. And at this point in time the council only knows that Mae is killing Jedi not the sith. Sol knows but he most likely won’t survive long enough to tell them. Are you really gonna talk about plot armour after episode 5? Where they killed of two of the main characters? And I especially disagree on the last part. Mae, Osha and Sol are the main trio they should be obvious why they matter. Qimir is the antagonist. Jecki starts as a foil for Sol. She challenges his attachment to Osha. The softens as the show goes along. Yord’s the brash one of the group. While Sol remains calm only igniting his lightsaber when he’s ready to kill as a Jedi should. Yord runs straight into a fight, he represents what the Jedi become. They all serve a purpose. The dialogue and characters are subjective so there’s no point in arguing that. No it’s easier to blame fans when the original teaser was disliked to hell and the show was review bombed earning a rotten score before the first episode even aired.

@@TheAniSi You're entitled to your opinion and that's fine. If you like the show, that's awesome. But people have different views. You disagree with me and I disagree with you, but when one side tells that the other side is just hating and their opinion is invalid because it's opposite of theirs, then it's obvious it's not genuine discussion. I never denied there are people who like the show, but majority just don't like it and think its bad and lazy and it's not to invalidate your opinion, it's just the fact.

Lets be honest the First 4 Episodes was shit. Total shit. The Last Episode we got a epic fight new armor and a Sith with great mind Trick Powers. There was loads of Easter Eggs in some Parts and there will be a Plot Twist. The Sith Lord could even be Plaguis.. The SIth seemed to have helped those Witches and Created life like Yes Anakin. The Twins seem to be connected like REY and Kylo. No idea where the Show will go but as long as goes on like Episode 5 all good. I do hope for a good Ending as it did start Crappy and boring but really heated up. Maybe we get to see Yoda. We will get recaps what really happend with the Jedi and why they feel Bad for something they did.

Honestly, I wanted to like and support The Acolyte. And I've tried, because yes, after over 40+ years of loving Star Wars I do consider myself a true fan. BUT...the overt political agenda of in your face inclusivity and pointless diversity for the sake of making a statement, and not in the interests of character development and good storytelling has left me cold. And frankly I am resentful that a beloved franchise has been tarnished by real world ideologies. The best stories are transportive and take you on a journey of wonder and imagination. I don't watch Star Wars to be hit over the head with woke idiocy.

Pretty sure people are tired of all the retcons on the lore. Why not just try to create a new scfi fantasy for todays generation rather than alienate a current fanbase.

Terrible writing and lore breaking faux pas everywhere the Acolyte is like bad fan fic with an insane budget. I could give 2 craps about all the IDE politics before you label me as some hater because of some personal bias of your own, I don't care whos parts of what you enjoy and I don't care what color you are I do care about good writing and story telling and this is not it.

So I have more of an “old fashioned” view, but I absolutely hate when random people tag onto a legendary writer’s work and create spinoffs. Take Lord of the Rings, written by Tolkien. Personally, I find the idea that Amazon is making a show off it just insulting. Like, do the writers for that show think they can write as well as Tolkien himself in his own world? On the other hand, House of the Dragon feels more real to me because the world’s creator (George Martin) is actively helping write it. These spinoff shows to me feel nothing more than a cheap cash grab by greedy vultures. If the EXACT same story/characters existed, but the word “Star Wars” wasn’t plastered on it, this show would have barely any viewers. And that’s not factoring in how awful the writing is for this show.
