Absolutely worth it! Senna is only water resistant. You can submerge a Cardo Packtalk Bold and it keeps working. Have ridden through a rain storm with mine! No probems!

A coworker of mine had trouble with the voice commands too but he plugged in to a PC and did thr software update and it worked fine. Recommended to double check that.

Love my cardo pack talk bold, the jbl speakers are great. I’ve had mine for a year and I still have a hard time using all the features, I learned new stuff from this video I didn’t know hahah, Nice review lady.

Purchased a Sena 20s about 5 years ago and I love it. Still working strong 💪 all I did was upgrade the speakers. Stupid simple to use and sounds great.

Hey i have a packtalk bold been using almost a year. Love it! I ise in the dm mode and fyi intercom function is amazing .

The packtalk bold shines when linked with a riding partner. It's awesome to stream my music and still be able to talk to my wife while she rides her bike. I also like the FM radio. It sucks when you're in an area without good stations though. 🤣

I don’t listen to music, or have any desire to talk on the the phone while I’m riding. I just talk with my fellow riders while I’m touring. We had a lot, and I mean a lot, of static and some kind of bleed over from something else. Sometimes, we decided to turn it off and wait until someone pointed to their cardo before turning it back on and talk.

Yesterday was the second time that I rode with the new helmet and the Cardo packtalk and again the music sounded very statically, almost like the speakers can’t handle the sound and at times it sounded like it was underwater. I too have issues with it recognizing my voice to make a call. I think I’m going to take out the speakers that it comes with, because it claims that they are JBL but I bought JBL to connected to my old Sena and those JBL speakers are giving me great sound when it comes to music. No static at all!

So I’m new to the com world… I got the Pactalk in Sturgis 2023, could’ve gotten the new edge but not sure if I was going to like it. Never had a Sena, so I can only talk about the Cardo… so far Iso good. Yes agree with you that it does a lot… but once you get to know it and know how to work it, I love the damn thing! Got one for my lady, she loves listening to her own music and not my music blasting from my Harley… lol

I love my cardo freecom for music and phone calls, but the voice commands do not work for me, but that could be an accent thing.

Yup. I have zero experience with Sena but Ive used Cardo for 10+ years with no issue. Packtalk Bold has not let me down to date.

I was thinking about getting one of these for 2 years now. I just used cheap Bluetooth helmet sets before just because I didn’t want to spend much on one but I ordered one now that I know they come with JBL speakers. Im watching this on my phone my phone with JBL live650s on right now

I have the cardo freecom and have a similar issue with the voice command. I was able to get it to work sometimes to "next track" or "music off, music on" I couldn't get the speed dial feature to work though. 🤷‍♀️

I had to ditch mine, I have the rf 1200 and found the additional weight made the helmet too heavy, and the speakers did not fit flush in the speaker holes and felt like they were squeezing my head, once I took it out the helmet was so much more comfy, I thought it worked good, just need to try it in a different helmet maybe. like a 3/4

A standard USB Micro cable works to charge the Cardo. No biggie.

I almost went with the bold but ran with the slim because it has a better water resistance level. It was a pain in the ass to set up at first but now I love it way more than the Sena I had. Honestly shorter cable, faster charge usually due to less travel for the current

Its worth but v8 is also very very amazing in terms of features.. its cheap and reliable

I just made my own from an old pair of headphones. 40mm speakers fit perfectly into the helmet, then it's just a little wiring to add a 2.5mm headphone socket on them. I either plug a cable to my phone in my pocket, or plug a $2 Chinese tiny Bluetooth adaptor into it if I want call capability. Louder than any other headset I've tried, better bass, and I can easily hear it even when I have earplugs in.

I recently got the packtalk bold black because it was on sale and at the same price as the regular packtalk bold. ( The main difference is it is black, and comes with slightly bigger JBL speakers ) The black's speakers just barely fit in the Shoei speaker holes, but for the most part it works great for me. I do have to make some adjustments to make sure they're pointing at my ears or they sound a little quiet with my earplugs in. Earplugs out they are loud as hell and would probably blast my ears out. I've accidentally done stuff like turn on the radio, or some of my apple apps freak out. My biggest complaint I've had using it is most likely a Wayze problem, but I found that the switching audio from Music to Wayze would sound weird as Wayze seems like it would try to use phone audio. But after a couple directions it would crash the app altogether. But Wayze has been really buggy for me lately. But I also mostly use it to pipe music, and have the option to take a call. I don't really ride with anyone yet so I can't test the communication part.
