I bought a Dosko 691 about 4 months ago to start a stump grinding business with. In this episode we cover some costs, pricing, and how the Dosko handles stumps. #stumpgrinding #dosko #Flannelfarms

I agree, the music turns your video into an 'ASMR Therapy Session'. ~ LOL ... '90 degrees in the corner', ... 'show 4 it'. (You might be starting something new /'Comedy ASMR'). Laughter is Good Medicine. 🤣

I'm squarely in the "this is really satisfying to watch" camp. I recently read a story about a guy who is making more money from his powerwashing KZfaq channel than he is from his actual powerwashing business. Kinda get it now.

Right? When we started the channel, before we bought the farm, I figured eventually just stump grinding would be satisfying to watch lol. I might have to add a few more of these as I do them.

Pines the worst gets all stringy when you grind i think they are the hardest ones to grind. I'm also a proud dosko owner

I totally agree! And always good to meet a fellow dosko owner! Ours is in the shop currently, some sort of electrical issues when starting. I'll post about it once we get is figured out, see if we can save some folks the same trouble.

Super satisfying! From the calming music to the silly text, nice work! As a side hustle to the side hustle, one could even collect the resulting saw dust and use it to grow delicious mushrooms.. or sell it to the hippies! 😂😉

That is true, I need to invest in a dump trailer so I can haul it.

I don’t know why, but It was extremely satisfying watching those stumps get grinded (ground?)
@FlannelFarms2 жыл бұрын
Groundification I believe. haha. I really enjoy doing it, just running the machine and watching the stumps slowly disappear. I'll throw up more when I do more. I don't usually film it as the jobs aren't normally for people I know, but this was an exception.

This was great film and editing! Definitely seems more professional, but I’d still watch even if you’re just carrying around a camera. Awesome job!

$5 an inch - I'd like to get that for my produce. Enjoying your videos thus far.

Right? I'm constantly amazed at how much work it is to produce food of any sort, and how little people pay for it.

That's a sweet machine, and I've found you can never go wrong with Honda small engines. Have you had to replace any parts on it yet, like grinding wheel or cutters, etc.?
@FlannelFarms2 жыл бұрын
Not yet, although I plan on ordering new teeth next month just to have a spare set on hand.

Good looking machine. How do you like it. have you had any problems out of it. how many hours you get on it. Would you recommend it
@FlannelFarms2 жыл бұрын
I like it a lot, a little slow compared to some larger machines but perfect for getting started. I bought it unassembled so I did have some nuts and bolts shake loose, but a little locktight and no issues since. I've got 40 hours on it so far and no issues. I do recommend it. For the price it is a lot of machine.

Thanks you. I’ve been looking for a smaller unit. Like your videos keep them coming

I was wondering if this machine ever kicks back on larger stumps
@FlannelFarms2 жыл бұрын
Not backwards no, if you go to far forwards it can pull you a little, but normally it just grabs and stalls out. And that's true regardless of the size. I find larger stumps easier because you have a sweeping motion you get going. Smaller ones can buck and chuck sometimes. Although they are faster to grind.

How much do you charge?
@FlannelFarms4 ай бұрын
$5 per inch and I measure across the widest part of the stump and you need to include the roots that you're grinding. If you have to do a lot of saw work that is something you need to charge for also.
