Becareful people. When you buy the fixd device. What they don't tell you is that they automatically enroll you in the premium which is 69.99 a month. They talking about you got to opt out. Wow. I told them I never sign up for it in the frist place. So I got the BBB involved. And they put the money back on the card

Have used FIXED here in the UK for over a year and it saved me thousands when I had an ABS module failure, in the end, cost less than $80 to fix and i did it myself. David UK.

My mother had me install her FIX device so I have had experience with it and it worked to show what the codes were. However, I absolutly HATE their advertisements. Their advertisements are completely misleading because they make all mechanics look bad and they make customers believe that the code will tell them exactly what needs to be fixed and how much it will cost and that is almost never the case. Just because a sensor is throwing a code does not mean that the sensor is bad. Just watch south main auto repair or any other diagnostic channel. Why would you need to do diagnostics if the code told you everything? A good example is O2 sensor codes. The real problem could be the other sensor or the injectors or a leaky exhaust. Knowing a code is not diagnostics. For those reasons, I can't stand FIXD.

My experience with FIXd was not good. I had an engine light on my van and repaired the problem. The FIXD app would not turn the engine light out. Communicated with the tech support and they wanted a screen shot of my dashboard. I finally used my other scanner to turn off the light- problem solved. Thankfully I didn't sign up for the premium service. 19.99 was enough to waste on this device.

Puzzled: One day you're professional mechanic level and the next, well, yer this.....

I wish he would of put it in a car with a real problem and real check engine light on. That would of made the video 1000% better. I would think that's how you review a product, by using it on a real life issue.

I have this fixd gizmo. It won't sync with any phone or tablet. I called tech support and they want money. They want me to purchase the premium. Why would I do that if the gizmo won't even sync to any device to start with? I figure if I'm gonna buy another one, it'll have to be demonstrated to me to make sure it works.

Sad to see this... Disappointed before I even started... Makes it look like you sold out to the enemy... These things should ALWAYS come with a disclosure: "After wasting money buying SUGGESTED parts and not fixing the problem, throw out dongle and contact a real mechanic" When someone fights with you because the app said blah blah blah, and you try to explain that it only indicates a problem, but doesn't tell you *WHAT CAUSED IT.* Does it GRAPH anything? Unless you KNOW what OBD codes mean, DON'T waste your money!

2006 Xterra. Over 137,000m. So, check engine light goes on. Fixd unit states no issues found. TWO different mechanic shops state I need a new catalytic converter. So who do I believe?

I have bought a couple cheap versions out there neither of them worked with my 2000 7.3 L diesel. Would like to know if this one works with Diesel engines. Amend is another top rated one, but they have not put in the diesel capabilities yet.

Hey Stephen, I have had my FIXD for about 6 months now. I have only used it once. Well my ABS and the little car with zig zag lines lights came on. I put in my FIXD device in and it tells me no errors. Should it tell me what's wrong? Does it work for this problem? Also can I leave this plugged in all the time?

My check engine light has been on in my car since I bought it, if you don't hear any clicking or banging or grinding just drive it tell the wheels fall off lol unless you have an expensive car then that check engine light probably means something

I'm my own "loved one that's not so handy with cars." I will readily defer to the experts.

Unfortunately this scanner does not list by O2 or A/F sensors properly so I don't know which data is for which.

What would I love to go with one of these - a diesel + gasoline variant - also - The detailed repair manual "SHOP REPAIR MANUALS" (there's a difference!) of every vehicle type make and model! - One thing that would be nice - a BLUETOOTH APP that works with any version of ANDROID - And if it can do Bluetooth - THERE IS NO REASON TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEND THE DATA TO THE BLUETOOTH TO DO #GRAPHS !!!! These tools are useless if they do not have a #Graph capability.

You might be a very competent, automotive mechanic. And it sounds like you are. At face value. With a nice smiling delivery. However. If you tune a car as well, as you do your audio for this video? I shan't be coming to you. And the reason for that is? Your audio is all over the place, high, low, high, low, wide, narrow, wide, narrow. And that's like loud and soft and loud and soft and narrow ambience and wide ambience and narrow ambience and wide ambience. So what gives? Is it your magneto does your points or your capacitors? You know your audio software has something equivalent to a timing light. It's called Normalize. And you should normalize each clip individually. Before you stick it in your timeline. Otherwise you will be firing on all cylinders. If you follow? Or lead I don't care. My brother got me the device as a present. I've used it on my 2003 Ford E-150 van and Honda 2007 CRV. And it tells you what's wrong if anything is wrong. It lets you reset your check engine light/lights. It's certainly not like those professional units. But then I am not a mechanic I'm an engineer dealing with electronic circuitry most. Not much of mechanicals. Enough to get by. And so if you can get this for $20 US? That's a worthy purchase. For a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand? Only for the seriously, Professional or, OCD DIY. To throw a couple of hundred up to a couple of thousand at a scanner. Not for me thank you. I'm living on Social Security retirement benefits alone. And I've been ripped off enough in my lifetime. Where this device can, give one a heads up. On what your vehicles situation might be? Simply and inexpensively. Only primary vitals, need be checked. And this will do that. So I give it a thumbs up. It's simply an additional diagnostic tool. Connected with your phone. A small enough gizmo to have always in your car. The question is are there better ones? Of course there are. Most of us don't need better ones.
