IS THE FORD BRONCO SAFE TO ROCK CRAWL? - Neutral Lockout - 2021 Ford Bronco

Is The Ford Bronco Safe to Rock Crawl? I am not sure it can be safely put in neutral in an emergency situation. When using the manual position I received mixed results sometimes ending up in park. Park is no place to be in a flop situation.

I saw a video, I believe from light bright nation, and they were able to slap it into neutral without it going to Park. Im not sure if they were in Rockcrawl mode or not. but I recall them talking about this same issue except. Have fun on the trails!

@@TrailCartel They had the shifter in Manual. Then you could go from their to neutral. That's what they highlighted in the lite brite nation video.

Been rock crawling sense the early 70’s . I never had an issue with an automatic continuing to feel like it’s going over after I let off the throttle. I always went to reverse to unload the drive line

Just confirmed on my Bronco Badlands Sasquatch, you are correct. From Drive, you cannot shift into nuetral. You can however shift from manual to nuetral in any mode with a quick pop of the shifter forward and it stops in nuetral every time!

If you are in manual on the automatic trans, you can slap it into nutural but drive won’t let you as according to Lite Bright

Thanks for watching! I just watched that video. I bet if Kevin try’s it a few more times he will get varying results. I have played with it more and mine goes all the to park most times, sometimes I get lucky with neutral. Could be a mess when crawling.

You can slap it into neutral from manual mode, which you will be using crawling anyway. You are the only one having issues

I see you are in 2H, does it still do it in 4H or 4L?

Good eye. I gave all the G.O.A.T.s a try and had the same results. I was hoping the detent locks /gates were electronic and would adapt to the mode I selected. I believe they are mechanical and I was just out running the lockouts when popping it out of manual.
