QOTD: ⚡Okay, you've now seen the Frenchie Co Regular and Mini Speed wallets. What do you think about the pull strap head? Too floppy? Just right? Or you don't like pull straps at all?

I don't mind pull straps... inside the wallet, i'm not sure how that would sit with me long term... Knowing my affinity for the bellroy slim sleeve, do you think i would like this wallet?

No, I think the dangling and floppy pull straps would bother you. If they were more like the TROVE which I believe produces the perfect sized strap head, then I wouldn’t mind it. But with how far it protrudes out, it would drive me nuts. Other than that, I do like the Mini version, the construction is good and would last. I don’t even mind the magnet that much.

So I have this wallet, been using it over a year, and it is awesome. Never had an issue with the magnet, pull tabs make it super easy to get cards. Before this I had the ridge, summit, ascent, trayvax original, og 2.0, and axis. Loved them all, but the Frenchie is the winner!

I just purchased this wallet! Watched the comparison video before buying and loved it! I came back for this one and realize that the wallet looks small on his hands but might not look so small on mine haha 😅 Still super excited though! I've been using "men's" wallets for a long time because I got tired of women's big, bulky wallets with the ugly patterns and bedazzled fronts 😔 So excited to find this one which doesn't necessarily look "gendered" just very practical and cute, got it in navy blue. Can't wait! Thanks for the videos, they helped a lot!

Great to hear! My daughter is carrying this wallet right now, so she'll have a carry test review coming up soon. I know a LOT of women who carry men's wallets, but it's really a "man's" wallet in perception only. So many options when women look beyond the laser focused gender targeting.

@@walletopia I got my wallet two days ago, so far I'm loving it! Even convinced my cousin to buy one, she's used to women's big wallets but really liked this one, I sent her your videos on it. The wallet does look small on my hands, and it's even smaller than the one I had before which I didn't think was possible. The leather is such good quality, I'm so happy! My go to wallet is the carbon version of the speed wallet, I purchased it when the company just started (Indiegogo in 2016 or 2017) and I can tell that I have never had a problem with demagnetization. I love the wallet with carbon fiber because is super thin but durable and have a few accents of leather for a nice touch. In addition I think it's amazing that I can fit 6 cards, 1 victorinox swiss card (a must for me) and between 5 bills (normally) and up to 20 bills (after going to an ATM) with out being super bulky.

We've had several comments on the carbon fiber version so we plan to pick that up. Have you felt like the pull strap heads were too floppy, got in the way or were a problem? That's the only thing I can't get comfortable with on this wallet.

In my wallet, the black pull strap (RFID) was design for 2 cards and works great, no problem at all; however, the brown pull strap (non RFID) is a bit tricky... with less than 5 cards its super floppy but with more than 6 is super tight. I don't remember if the instruction card that was inside this pocket suggested that this was design for 6 cards. After a couple of weeks I figured out that my perfect configuration for this pocket was 4 cards and my swiss card.

Hey Mark, awesome and thorough review! I’m looking into minimalist wallets, and wanted to know your thoughts on this Frenchie Mini wallet vs the Secrid Mini wallet? I’m having difficulty choosing between the two. I prefer Frenchie’s magnet mechanism (offers a cleaner look imo), but I like Secrid’s internal organization (though I’m wary about the plastic fold that keeps the bank notes). I’m also thinking what would last longer in the long-run, the nylon straps or the mechanical lever? Would appreciate your insight!

No, I think they would be fine. The mini is the best balance between their products, very well dimensioned

Hi, I just got this wallet and apparently the cards that say "this pocket holds 6 cards" are important. They identify which side is RFID protected and which isn't. But perhaps more importantly, one of the card says that it's recommended to use this wallet in the front pocket so as to preserve durability. Do you think it will be so bad if I use it in my back pocket? My front pockets are occupied with my phone and handkerchief.

Update: Messaged their customer support. The issue with using it in the back pocket is that sitting on it can break the magnet. I guess I'll have to swap my handkerchief and my wallet pockets and get used to it. Magnets aren't an issue for the electronics too.

I hate magnets on wallets since they fight against you...and the pull straps which are annoying to look at as well as they could fail after a while.

They say be careful for safety but I’ve not read anywhere that it’s been a problem. My daughter has been carrying this for 9 months with no issues.

Erik Kalifornia agreed, the slim sleeve is really thin even when loaded up, have 8 cards in mine right now and it’s ridiculously thin.

@@wholewhitebread7626 Yeah, I've tried many wallets, and always end up back with the slim sleeve. Small foot print, super thin, high quality, and super functional. I actually don't like cards/features on the OUTSIDE of the wallet. I know Mark scores wallets down in functionality if they don't have it, but for me, cards on the outside take away from the look and feel of a wallet, IMO.

Hmmm, tricky question, I try to not show my preference, but it comes out in my comments. :) . There are three wallets I've done carry tests with that I really enjoyed. The Bellroy Slim Sleeve, TROVE Swift and Hell-bent 3.0.
