As a yank that's been to Ireland 10 times, it always surprises me how our friends we've developed there don't really staycation the island. They comment how we've seen more of their country than they have. Great video, lad! That entire Antrim coastal route is LOADED with brilliant scenery and sites!

@@cinemascenes2010 mate, you assume too much. I've been to Peru, Argentina, Chile, stepped foot on Antarctica, and lived in Saigon for 4 months. You're barking up the wrong tree to compartmentalize "the typical American" in my statement. Shame.

Little bit of constructive criticism for you from a good place - grab some sort of stable recording apparatus which minimises camera shake when walking about the place. Will improve your video quality a good bit and give you that extra bit of x factor

Took a bus tour from Dublin up to the causeway one time with the missus and it was definitely worth it we thought! Best part was the pub stop after walking around and exploring in the pissin rain for 3 hours. Actually... new best time/place to have a beer. The post-causeway beer!

I went there this summer, me and my group were in the rain and above all we suffered a lot of wind with crushed stone and rock dust. Bur overall the misadventure was fun and for everything else it was definitely worth it. This natural spectacle is wonderful , one of the best places I have ever visited. Now I have beautiful memories at the giant causeway and other locations in Northern Ireland. So the only and true answer is 'Yes'.

Went first thing on a Wednesday morning mid March, stayed in Portrush and had basically the whole place to ourselves. Much more able to appreciate the place than had it been full of tourist crowds. At 11am was already on a tour of the Bushmills distillery and had a tasting session after, would highly recommend. The Guinness map came in real handy in Letterkenny, Derry and Belfast on the same trip too! Loved Sandino's in Derry, probably my favourite pub of the trip.

When we were there in 2018, we stayed at a small campground nearby. The campground owner told us we could go to the causeway AFTER the carpark closed about 6 pm and it would all be free, and it was. We were there in August so we had plenty of sunlight to play around in and then got great sunset photos. Problem was we couldn't find anything open for many a mile to eat afterwards. Anyway, if you're on a budget, go after they close at 6pm and it's free. Stick around for a beautiful sunset, then walk back to your car at the carpark. Be sure to eat before you go cause everything is closed for miles. Also most rock-n-roll fans will recognize that the Led Zeppelin album cover Houses Of The Holy was photographed at the Giants Causeway.

For anyone else reading this, the giants causeway is ALWAYS FREE if you follow this rule - AVOID THE VISITOR CENTRE!!!! once you go through the visitor centre that's when they charge you, and you're actually paying to use the gift shop etc, not access the giants causeway, its really sneaky the way they do it. People see the gift shop and think that's the entrance, when in fact there's an access way beside it.

I ended up there by accident back in 2017 when I took a friend up north to buy a car. We passed a sign that said giants causeway 5km this way. We said fuck it, let’s go. No way we were driving back up from Limerick to see it again. Was a miserable day and all, but brightened up a bit. Saw it, got wet, said never again what a waste of time. Expensive pint of Guinness later and we left to drive back to Limerick. At least I can say I saw the bleeding thing. 😂

The prices of food and drink in the pubs (especially The Nook!!) around the Causeway are despicable. 47 quid for a couple of pints and 2 mains?! I'd be happy to pay that if the quality of grub and Guinness is worth it but trust me, ITS NOT!! Also don't get duped into paying to "access" the Causeway via the Visitor Centre. You're only paying for the privilege to walk through the centre itself. You can save a tenner by just climbing over the fence on top of the Visitor centre from the car park and walk down to the Causeway.
