I've had the iPhone XR a few times and it's a great budget iPhone. People complain about the screen resolution, but it's bright enough and color accurate so it never bothered me. Even the camera is surprisingly good. Performance was still really good as Apple is far ahead in processing power. Even in 2023 if you can find a good deal on it then It's worth it if it has a high battery health. Just look at how many millions of units of the XR sold and that tells you specs don't matter and quality does. The XR is a great quality device for the price.

Absolutely! Grabbing one for like $250 with 90% battery health is a great deal. Probably has 2-3 more years of life at least

Still have my 128gb XR, bought used 3 years ago. Still 85% battery health and running smooth. I don't have a reason to upgrade but I usually upgrade every 2-3 years. I kind of wish Apple would stop supporting the XR to give me a reason to upgrade. lol I would enjoy a better screen or at least a wide angle camera also. Honestly I see myself using this phone another 1 or 2 years at least since Apple support is so good.

My sister uses the XR for almost 2 years now, still works for her just for casual use. Social media, personalization, and other daily phone routines. Nothing fancy but it's user-friendly. Still a good deal for this year.

Im switching from a XR to a 15 soon, the XR has been one of my most reliable phones ever, I’m very clumsy, so I was shocked to see how well it’s stood against my antics for about 3 years now, the switch to the 15 is definitely gonna be jarring but I think it’ll be a switch for the better

As someone who kinda wants an Apple Watch but who doesn't wanna pay an arm and a leg for an iPhone just to use said watch, I've seen that refurbished iPhone XRs go for pretty cheap so this is a great video to show up for me 😅

We bought refurbished XRs through our cell phone provider and have been content with them. Mine was an upgrade from a 6s and my partner’s from a flip phone. He hates it - but not for the merits of the XR. He just hates smartphones! For me it’s fine, mostly. The only reason I would think about upgrading at the moment is for the camera. I recently replaced my main computer with an M1 Mac Mini. The XR is compatible with camera continuity on the latest system update and works okay with what I do for now (zoom calls and piano lessons). At some point better video quality might be preferable. I appreciate the honest look from your video (“if you have an XR, keep it”)… sometimes I do get caught up in the hype on the latest and greatest, so this was helpful advice.

I personally think the 10r, and the 11 are Apples best. They have character. The 14 is boring, and the 13 and 14 have no features. We still have a simcard slot on the 10r and 11...and they take good video and pics. Just my user experienced opinion.

The XR is still a nice phone. I actually prefer the feeling and the look of the round corners over the boxy design of the iphone 14. You also have to consider that the display has a RGB-Matrix which looks sharper than a Pentile-Matrix at the same resolution.

Replacing mine after 2 years of use, really enjoyed the phone but 64gb isn't enough for me anymore and the performance and battery life are starting to degrade. Gonna be getting a 128gb 12 mini, I know the mini has bad battery life but I need a new phone and I can't afford a normal sized 12 with that much storage

I've had the iPhone 8 but changed for the first time to Samsung S21 FE. But it feels slower than my old iPhone 8, and the camera quality is not so good as Samsung says it is. The single cam of the iPhone 8 is still better. And i do not like Android, to much settings, it is a mess. I'm autistic, all those annoying settings and ads drive me crazy. I want to go back to iPhone, but can only afford a cheap one like XR or SE2. My iPhone 8's battery is dead, so can't use it anymore. Thanks for your vid, i think the XR will a good one.

@@TechDailyI’m upgrading every Apple product every 3-4 years. I went from 5c to 7 plus to 11 and now 15 pro max. (Honestly I think I’m gonna end up at this point with max versions going forward). And I’m planning to upgrade my Apple Watch Series 7 to series 10. Can’t wait. I think I’m in that group of people that can go with iPhone till 75-80% of battery health. But also they not doesn’t care bout the new phone every time. I’m gonna wait what iPhone 19 or 20 will bring and I will decide for that version.

This is old!? Dude I still use an iPhone 6s with no issues while my 13 sets in a drawer for future use. I know the XR isn’t brand new anymore but it’s definitely NOT old or not not worth it..iPhones last much longer now than in the 4s days so 5 years old isn’t old for an iPhone anymore.

My wife just lost her phone, so I’m giving her my 13 mini and bought a XR on swappa mint condition with 98% battery health for $175. I used to have a XR as my work phone and it always worked great. Doesn’t bother me at all that it’s an older phone…it’s a great performer.

The Xr, SE2/3 and 11 are the only decent choices for the 10% of us who can’t use OLED due to PWM! I bought Xr’s for my two teenagers and they’re very happy with them.

What unique XR has its curvy and round edges with aluminium design which gives the most premium feel in your hands in comparison to boxy design with sharp edges in latter models. Xr has its own fan base. Wish Apple comes up with this design in Amoled screen back again. Best phone in my opinion. Using it since 3.5 years and no issue faced even once.

Pixel 6a should be close in price it has a better camera, screen, software support it might not be as fast but it wont be that far off and it will most likely have better battery life.

just bought my xr with very low battry capacity its like 80% but am loving the phone its the perfect size its still fast on ios 17 it lasts like 3 or 4 hours so no regrets i highly recommand it

I have the iPhone XR but i need to change it, i broke the display and the back glass, i loved this phone but it was bought when it got out and it was used bu my brother and dad… Keep in mind that IOS will be supported only in 2024 after that IOS wont be updated… I loved this phone but i have yo change it, what phone do yall recomend

I think so. 5G isn’t as widespread in the US especially or abroad as people think. A vast majority of people can’t/don’t get actual “5G” - they get 5Ge, and 5G UW is is in only select cities. Keep in mind there’s also 4G and LTE, and 3G is still prevalent around the world too. It’ll be 10+ years before any of those bands are turned off like Edge/2G was

Apple loves playing around with resolutions. It's never something simple like 720p, 1080p or 1440p, they always have someone sort of quirky resolution like 2556x1179 or 2794x1290.

Worth using? Yeah, I’m more or less happy with mine. Worth buying? No! I’m *more or less* happy with mine. In 2023. When I buy a new phone I want to use it for 5-6 years, if I were to hypothetically get my XR this year instead of early 2019 I’d be stuck with it until 2025 at least, making an exception and upgrading after only a couple years because I do NOT want to use an XR in 2028.

Both phones are great in terms of actual performance and looks. It only depends if you like the IOS or Android operating system more. Example: Do you like the smoothness and simplicity of IOS or do you prefer more options for customization that Android allows.

In 2023 the Iphone 10 or 11 is absolutely not worth it. Anyone buying an iPhone needs to shoot for at least an iPhone 12. This is the year of 5G. Going forward phones need to be 5G capable. T-Mobile will be first to neuter 4G LTE by cutting bandwidth and moving it to 5G. In time Verizon and AT&T will do the same. It's time to look forward and not backwards.
