When the KPP was launched I was super interested, as I always wanted to have a Kemper, but it was out of the price I was willing to pay. I've been using it for a month now and I don't miss the screen. Of course, it requires more planning than carrying an analogue pedalboard or having a screen to make adjustments, but it's not a commitment. The sound quality, size and weight are exactly what I was looking for. Anyway, I'm very happy with my KPP. No complaints.

My problem is as far as I know this is still 13 year old tech but they are charging a brand new price. Charging for software updates when the hardware is strong enough for it out of the gate is straight criminal

Good take. They should have invested time in the ai generated captures since they are audibly better in my opinion.

Black Star Dept 10 Dual Drive pedals or Dept Amped 1 or Amped 10. They're awesome, easy to use and sound amazing. They also come with extra goods if needed such as computer software for extra choices for amps and whatnot. I have never actually used that stuff because the pedal I have sounds so good.

Good video, anytime you have to rely on another piece of tech (phone) to operate your tone your are setting yourself up if you expect to gig with the Kemper. Drop your phone, no cell/data service, or simply the phone is not charged. All of this happens, so no I would not gig with it, but I would consider it for home use only, too bad though because I just bought the ToneX five weeks ago.

What if somebody calls you on your mobile phone while you are playing a gig. Is that going to come through the speakers too?

I owned the eventide h9 for awhile it was very powerful and great using midi. The issue I had with it was the app and having to use my phone while playing. Idk about you having something like that is a distraction from doing your job and doing it right I mean god forbid your playing a set and you get text messages while playing or a bunch of notifications it’s very distracting airplane mode had to be a must. I like the kemper but I agree with you on the toaster version it’s just good. For me the quad cortex has been my answer why? I haven’t wanted to buy a pedal or change a single thing since.

Ugh, yeah - that's my concern...not sure I trust myself to be able to make those changes on the fly on a phone! Thanks for stopping by :)

Maybe if they called it the "Kemper Traveler" customers would have more reasonable expectations about it.

Trying to avoid making your 13 year old unit not obsolete just opens them up to other companies making a product that is way better for the money. The kemper being obsolete is inevitable. If tonex decides to make a mini multi effects unit in this price range they will destroy HX stomp and kemper.

I've still not tried a Tone X or HX Stomp so I can't quite comment on their destroying capabilities! But thanks for your input 😎
