I have one and I got it in 2021. I most use it for making trails and cutting firewood for the winter heating about 7 cords a year plus anything that comes up. I like it alot I have about 200 hours on it no problems at all

I'm coming up on 100 hours on mine now. I initially used it for site work after I built my log home, but now I mostly use it mostly for mowing about 1.5 acres and some other random tractor duties that come up. And its also been great in the winter for snow removal. Its been a great purchase tho. Its the perfect tractor for my situation.

I actually purchased the same mirrors you have on your tractor for my BOBCAT CT 1021. I love those mirrors and they work great. Great video and advise.

I got the mirrors as a xmas gift from my in-laws. I like them, but I find that I don't really use them much. But they're good to have even for occasional use. I think I'll use them more during the winter months as I'm clearing snow.

I purchase mine mirrors about a year ago. They are handy when I 'm using my loader or snow blowing near my driveway exit. which is near a country highway. Also handy when operating tractor in general. I like being able to see all around me when engaged in work around the homestead.

I got a 2018 with 15 hrs on it for 9k. Gotta love divorce settlements. I have 1 acre and it has done just fine. A friend has 5 acres no tractor just a ride on mower. The 1st year he believed the tractor should've been bigger. It's done enough work on his 5 acres to make him a believer.
@randomstuffwithjoe

Wow.. thats a score. $9k with only 15 hours. Congrats. Ya.. I'm loving this tractor. I always knew I "wanted" one.. but it wasn't until I could actually justify it that I made the move. Super happy with it. Was out doing work with it all day today.

Thanks for the video, SmartDawg mentioned the wheel weights in his comment and Honestly they do more to bring the center of gravity lower to the ground and that helps prevent tip over . The suitcase weights are convenient but once the wheel weights are on you could get rid of them and use your hitch. It's all about how high the weights are mounted that counts .
@randomstuffwithjoe
@randomstuffwithjoe 4 ай бұрын
I considered wheel weights.. but the suitcase weights seem to be working fine for my needs and I don't think I actually need them at this point. And I'm still able to use the hitch as is. I think wheel spacers would be a good in vestment tho. But I'm not sure I need them either. So I guess its more of a "want" than a "need". lol. But I love this little machine.. its such a great tool. Thx for watching. 🙂

New Subscriber and I've had my 1880 for just over 3 years and I absolutely Love it. I do wish I would have bought the 2380 only because I could have used the back hoe many times. I do have the wheel weights and the spacers. The spacers have pretty much taken away any tipping. I make sure my ROPS are up and always where the seat belt as it will keep you in the tractor if it did tip over.

I am looking at a BX1880. I have one 17.6 degree slope in my yard that I need to mower up and down. Plus I need to be able to tow a cart (25 cubic feet) filled with leaves down the slope. There are flat areas at the top and bottom to turn around in so I don't have to worry about tipping. Where did you get wheel weights and spacers from?

Thx. I've seen a couple of KZfaq videos of DIY loaders on zero turns. Looked cool. Having a tractor is super handy. Definitely a great investment if you can justify the purchase.. which I did.

@@danielrapoza8468 Thx Dan. The spacers are definitely on the list of things to do. But the tractor has turned out to be a great investment. I actually wanted a tractor even before I "needed" one. lol. But justifying it to the wife was what sealed the deal. 🤣

You can be proud of what you've done with that tractor, Joe. Have you attached any rear implements such as ripper or grader blade? I'm looking at buying one of these tractors, & want whatever implements it will take to get my lawn as smooth as yours!
@randomstuffwithjoe
@randomstuffwithjoe 8 ай бұрын
Thx for watching. I used a Heavy Hitch landscape rake for some of the work. I realized about halfway thru that it was easier to back drag the bucket for grading. I ended up selling the rake when the job was completed. I hear a box blade does a nice job, but I don't have any personal experience with it. I'd like to get a grapple at some point.

Like most men, I want more hp. Something bigger. Looking at a used JD 1025r for 16k. Run across one of these used for 13k. Something to think about! Enjoyed your video!

For my usage, HP would really only effect using the rear PTO, which I’m almost certain to never use. I’d ideally like more loader lift capacity but I’d have to jump up in tractor size to the B-series and honestly I don’t "really" need it, its more of a "want". The bx1880 has been a solid tractor for my needs.

I had the same issue with the snapped loader pin. I think it’s a flaw in the design. My parking arm stop on that side also bent. My local dealer would not cover it under warranty. $250. It wasn’t the dealership I purchased it through though to be fair. Overall great for my .85 acres. Great for plowing snow.
@randomstuffwithjoe
@randomstuffwithjoe 10 ай бұрын
My dealer was pretty good about repairing it under warranty. I'm pretty sure it was beginners error on my part tho. I haven't had any other issues. I was hoping to try snow plowing with it last winter, but we had a very mild winter (unusual in my area) and I didn't get to use it at all for snow. Hopefully this winter I'll get to play in the snow.

As far as mowing is concerned I actually purchased a new zero turn mower before I bought the BX and once you have a zero turn mower you will never own anything else. I have about 2 acres of grass and the the zero turn can easily cut over 2 hours off the mowing time or more.
@randomstuffwithjoe
@randomstuffwithjoe 3 ай бұрын
I’ve heard that before. But if you can only have one machine, I feel like the tractor is a more versatile and practical choice. And considering I’ve never had anything but push mowers.. the bx is a huge upgrade.
@kagnewmp12
@kagnewmp12 3 ай бұрын
@@randomstuffwithjoe Oh I totally agree with you but my wife actually bought me the BX tractor for my second retirement and I had the zero turn because I got a great deal at Tractor Supply because my Daughter worked there and I saved a few hundred bucks with her discount. I'm 71 now and couldn't deal with a walk behind snow blower any longer. I put a rear blade on my BX and also a ABS pipe on the bottom to protect my gravel drive. Those spacers will be your best friend once you pull that trigger.

Thx. I haven't really found that I need more weight as of yet. I have the Heavy Hitch.. and 4 suitcase weights right now. I still have room on the hitch to add 4 more suitcase weights if needed.. but I'll take things as they come. Its a great little machine tho. Thx for watching.

We have 4 acres, but 2 acres are protected by conservation so I can't really disturb it. So we are maintaining around 2 acres with the bx1880 and I haven't found any reason for needing a larger tractor. It's been fantastic.
