With the changes that Red Hat made recently in their licensing model a lot of people are upset with them and their future is sort of in doubt. Linux+ seems like a more safe bet.

well ive read that redhat is far more common as a distro in the business world, hence why it traditionally has had more weight to it as a certification.Cant go wrong either way I dont think as you will get alot of transferable skills, but I am doing the linux+ cert

I think you're talking about Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)

The LPIC certs are issued by the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) not the Linux Foundation.
