Priests of the Diocese of Rochester - including Priesthood Vocations Awareness Team members Fathers William Coffas, Joseph Martuscello, Peter Van Lieshout, and Daniel L. White - challenge young men to step out in faith and take the first step along the path of saying “yes” to God’s call to follow him in a unique way.
Leading up to the 60th World Day of Prayer for Vocations on April 30, 2023, the Catholic Courier, in collaboration with the Priesthood Vocations Awareness Team of the Diocese of Rochester, developed as series of videos profiling the vocational journeys and current ministries of several diocesan priests. I'm 25 now and i been denying the calling since 3 yrs. Finally have decided to give me life to serve the lord. Praying to join the seminary the coming year. I feel peace in my heart ❤ remember me in your prayers ❤

I’m a 26 year old single man and I want to be married but cant find a wife, and I really want to have a family. Is struggling with women an indication that I have a calling to the priesthood? I have had countless talking stages with women and one failed toxic relationship just this year, and im worried I will never find the right woman. I have no interest in the priesthood or religious life or being a permanent bachelor. Been praying to meet my future wife for years but my prayers seem useless. Everyone I know is already in a relationship or engaged and they’re younger than me. I have strong sexual desires that are not sinful, but they’re painful because they’re unfulfilled. Im starting to believe that if God wanted me to find someone special, it would have happened by now. Im tired of hearing “God’s timing” and “Gods plan” when im just constantly lonely and sad. God doesn’t care that I want a family, let alone a good woman. God would rather have me be depressed and wishing I got married every day instead of actually being married. I do my best to stay physically active. I run 20 miles a week and lift weights. But im short at 5’8. Im feeling desperately lonely. Im worried just because I am worried that struggling to find a wife means im called to be a priest.

much respect for these men for what they do. i am concerned. just recently i heard 2500 priests were canceled. not sure what to make of a recruitment that just canceled 2500 men! very confused..

Spend time in the eucharist and you'll get all the clearance. Always remember what's from god is not confusing. Spend good time in the adoration and the lord will speak.

I am not sure what the Church is being changed into. I would love to be a priest. I am not sure I am the right person now. At one time maybe. But I wish I could, but the Church is being altered, seemingly, and that is one reason I wonder about it. It is so arrogant to want to think we can preserve traditional values and Latin Mass while Vatican is acting so radically. I am worried for Our Church. The pre Vatican 2 generation will not be on earth soon. Jesus help me start with my faith, so I can do as you wish. Lemme know. That's what I think often.

I’m pretty sure priests also have interest in girls lol unless they’re not straight they’re just strong enough (in most cases) to suppress this urge and to suppress the flesh

These men choose to give up a life with a woman to live a life dedicated to Christ. If you find that creepy then you have a perverted mind. Christ was also celibate.
