Anyone who says majority of the meat factories that slaughter the way sheikh fawzan described then they need to bring proof. Anyone who brings a proof from here and there or a video from here and there then that is a not proof at all for majority, exceptions are not general rulings For example there are countless Shia rafida and barelvis and Sufis and those who commit shirk and they sell meat and have restaurants so where are these Muslims who are silent about this while doing fatwa shopping, double standards

@Randomhandlename search online about the most common slaughtering methods in the US and you'll find the proof very quick. This isn't something that needs proof considering it's well known by anyone in the west that the methods for slaughter used are not the method Allah legislated. Your second point has no relevance here and is a strawman argument.

Here's one item that most Muslims don't care about. In the west, all these families are max concerned about strict halal meat restrictions for family usually have 3 properties on mortgage (max 1 is allowed on mtg under extenuating circumstances as permissible) and most of their kids waste half the halal food they order outside. Not sure if ordering halal food then wasting half a plate is better. Not arguing the halal slaughter argument but our community doesn't think about food wastage

Wallah so much food goes to waste, this is true. I try as much as I can make food exactly enough for the family and to finish any leftovers as much as possible but even then, we still have food waste.

The shaikh said that it is not allowed unless certainty has been established that it was killed in the correct way, because the majority of them use haraam methods to slaughter. The sheikh mentioned that the asl is that it is halal, but because of the factories nowadays and massproduction it is not doen the proper way so it must be investigated further before buying said meat

JazakAllah Khair shaykh for the explanation. Another very important point is that in the UK where i live, majority people are athiests or follow no religion. Its a minority that follow Christianity or consider themselves as Christians. Im sure its the case in most of Europe. So in that case, they're not classed as people from the book are they? So would be considered Haram especially if there's plenty of halal options available, not necessary to go eat food from their restaurants

I don’t know how accurate that is because I looked it up and the UN percent said 59.5% of the people in the UK recognize themselves as Christians and I have friends over there that said the same thing and other websites also say the same thing so that may just be your opinion

@@abdurraheem1970 brother I don't know where you're getting those stats from. It's even on Google. Census stats show 46% describe themselves as Christians. That's less than half, and the numbers are decreasing every year. By the way those stats are England and Wales combined.

Actually, I also Googled it and the first thing that popped up on Google was 59.5% in the UK are Christians. I don’t understand the numbers brother you said 46% are Christians that means there’s 54% in the country that are not Christians. If there’s 54% not Christians how much are Muslims how much are Jews if we go by your math at 46% then there’s no way the Christians are a minority they are the majority that’s basic math, 101.

No it's not messed up..Sheikh Assim took this ruling from sheikh ibn Utheymeen(رحمة الله عليه)and Ibn baaz (رحمة الله عليه ) And there are other authentic text that supports this narrative... Such as when the prophet (S.A.W) visited a jewish woman and she served him meat...and he never asked how the meat was slaughtered..was it banged on the head..or anything else..he simply said Bismillahi and he ate... Sheikh assim isnt just taking things from his pocket And Allah knows best

Well in the United Kingdom who is a practising Jew? And who is a practising Christian? Therefore there is a high level of doubt from the Kitab Ullah over here. And yes the same goes for the Muslims. Although a smaller amount of practising Muslims, but a strong voice of scholars have been growing in the last few decades. Not just scholars from abroad, but scholars born and bred in the United Kingdom. The Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC) is the most trusted committee in the UK. As they randomly come and inspect our products against the receipts that we have in-store. Any goods sold, is understandable. It's Dodgy meat that they would question as to where it was purchased from. The other HFC (Halal Food Authority) are favoured by the western food outlets such as KFC and others. When I was with them. They never came to do these kind of spot checks

Good answer but it does not touch on what to do if you do not know if the meat was slaughtered in a machine or if it was slaughtered by a christian/jew. Also, theres a hadith where the prophet did not ask the jews how it was slaughtered when he ate with them at their house. He simply said bismillah and ate it. What if i walk into a mexican restaurant, (nexicans are christian), i wouldnt really need to ask them right? We would appreciate a full answer

They would have to be ahlul kitab. The Mexicans are mostly catholic and idol worshippers this falling out of this category. I think any Muslim whose faith is solid will understand that the only Christians whose food we can eat are those found in Africa and some parts of Eastern Europe as they have the intention of invoking Allah’s name before slaughter. Christians of the west don’t do this at all. Of the Jews only Orthodox Jews follow this practice as well.

I’ve ben telling this for years about the meat in Europe, tell this to the Moroccan laymen and you will hear stuff, that will make you cry or laugh to hard that you faint. Once i said this to a man, he said. If it’s true what you said, then i might be dead as well. Haha Allahoe musta’aan. An other one said to me: If there’s no meat, then there’s nothing. Allah specified in multiple places to follow the scholars, you call this blind following ? Read 49:6. Imam san3ani rahiemehoellah explained this in great detail in irschad noeqad ile teysir el idjtihad, i was going to give you the reference in Arabic, but i doubt you speak Arabic. Read it and get back to me. Also may Allah bless you, this is not the correct way to speak about those who posses knowledge. And saying that something is impossible whilst the Quran and the idjma3 is against you isn’t a sincere statement, Allah sees you and your deeds and words should be considered before saying them may Allah bless you. It means that wich is allowed to et according to the sharia. It must still be killed in a certain way, even if it was done by kuffar. It is not allowed to eat if not killed in this way regardless who slaughtered the animal. And if it is killed properly then it must be a jew muslim or christian who did it

The verse of the Qur'an refers to the meat of the Ahle-kitaab. Nowadays we do not find most of the Christians and Jews fitting the description of the Ahle-kitaab referred to by the Qur'an. Most of the Christians and Jews of today only call themselves Christians and Jews even though they do not believe in most of the tenets of their religion and their divine books. Hence, despite their beliefs opposing the fundamental tenets of their religion and despite them not believing in many of the laws and injunctions of their kitaab, how can they be regarded as the Ahle-kitaab the Qur'an is speaking about and how can the meat of the animals they slaughter be considered halaal? Thus, apart from the fact that they do not adhere to all the requirements of slaughter, when there is doubt regarding them being Ahle-kitaab the Qur'an speaks about, it is best for a Muslim to exercise self restraint and refrain from consuming the meat slaughtered by them. And Allah Ta'ala (الله تعالى) knows best.

How often we hear this line “McDonald’s and KFC are ok as they’re ahlul kitaab” well who isn’t then? Majority of America and Europe is Christian or Jew or Muslim. Dominant religions. Does that mean it’s all a green light? Why is some meat expensive than others? Why are some going the extra mile siding with caution? There numerous factors to this discussion the list is exhaustive, but when you explain to some people they say “oh you’re going too deep” and then the ayat of Quran is used “allah doesn’t place burden upon a person” in essence it’s like saying it’s okay don’t worry eat away allah will forgive you. Upon you is due diligence to best of ability. Muslims are importing meat from Brazil and selling it in Middle East! Brazil is 90+% Christian, practising orthodox? Or upon shirk and kufr? Christian’s of today like the ahlul kitaab of Madina 1400 years ago? Funny how those “scholars” making the Haram halal spew warped thoughts, clearly the consumption of ambigious food is impacting the body and mind… Wallahu alam. Always an interesting discussion and much respect to those who are even remotely conscious about this subject, others jus say bismillah and it’s halal.

No worries. N imams needed. If the animals are slaughtered individually then God has to be mentioned with the swipe of each blade. If it is a mechanised process once per batch/operation is sufficient according to most scholars. Check out 'pendle pastures' if you in UK@@sheep.herder

It still amazes me how many Muslims ignorantly think that to be Ahlul Kitab a person must be a strict monotheist. CHRISTIANS ARE AHLUL KITAB. CHRISTIANS WORSHIP JESUS. They are still Ahlul Kitab. THAT is who Christians are: worshippers of Christ. It’s who they were during the time of the Sahabi. It’s who they are now. Worshipping Jesus doesn’t make them no longer Ahlul Kitab. @@hamzanocapHFA certified Stun to stun, liw voltage bird baths. HMC allows the chickens to see the knife, hear and observe their fellow bird being butchered and then panic when its their turn. Hence why HMC Poultry ends up bruised. Hmc should invest a portion from the vast sums of money it makes annually in finding a solution. It's easy to say Haram Haram Haram to everyone else but 20 odd years later we are no closer to a solution. HMC Happy with their niche market generated revenues in my honest opinion.

What "but" and "if". Saudi UAE and many arab countries get meat from Brzaillain non muslim company called Sadia which may sound as a muslim name but its a Brazillian non muslim name. Even Albaik's meat comes from them. To this date not a single government official video has been realeased confirming that official bodies have inevatigated/monitored the situation and it is shareeah based slaughtering. If muslim countries can't do this let alone non muslim countries. Atleast in the UK the people managed to popularize HMC which is a private body. The muslim countries should do this urgently.

You information is incorrect. I have personally met scholars from Saudi Arabia who were sent from the government to investigate slaughterhouses in Brazil. Please be careful about making statements you do not know to be 100 % accurate

But when many muslims are having doubts on its halal status then the government should issue a statement publicly and make it public this is all I am saying. There are so much doubts that people are asking questions to saudi based scholars who are not answering with full confidence. The people in charge of monitoring the slaughtering should come out and make statement openly. This is all I am saying.

@MasjidRibat The muslim population in Brazil is only 0.1% in 2010 which is around 200,000 ish. I don’t know why but I have doubts that all of the workers of the halal slaughter house in Brazil can only be from the 0.1% of the muslim population. Can you please give me further reassurance? Thanks.

I was invited to work at a chicken slaughter house. A muslim brother rented one conveyor belt line for muslims to use during night shift in a nonmuslim factory. Let's just say i saw how these so called muslim brothers i was working next to behaved and how the chickens were handled wasnt correct, nor did they pray or say bismillah most of the time

Anyone who brings a proof from here and there or a video from here and there then that is a not proof at all for majority, exceptions are not general rulings For example there are countless Shia rafida and barelvis and Sufis and those who commit shirk and they sell meat and have restaurants so where are these Muslims who are silent about this while doing fatwa shopping, double standards

This fatwa is based on uncertain cases where there is no certainty that meat is slaughtered according to Allah His Law in bilaadul kufr. But if it is certain that some markets sell Halal meat then the doubt is out of the question. Asking the Muslim butcher/market owner (or reliable customers who buy meat at the market) is enough proof to buy from him. There are evidences from the Quran and Sunnah that back up this claim (feel free to ask). Also, there are plenty of Halal investigating organizations that deal (verifying) with these butchers and markets and eventually classify them to be halal certified based on the shar'i conditions of slaughtering a halal animal. All praise to Allah for making it easy for the Muslims in the Western countries. Knowledge is broad and specific. This fatwa isnt applying to any situation regarding halal meat in bilaadul kufr. There are lots of nuances regarding this case. With all respect and love for shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan hafidhahullaah.

So a family in the United States or Europe, who has a medium to low income and cannot afford a private slaughter each week, will have to settle with eating fruits and vegetables all their lives because this sheikh says the meat they consume is haram. Did he ever read the fatwas of Shiekh uthaymeen and bin baaz? He’s making the religion harder on folk who live overseas. May Allah forgive him.

Beans, fish, tofu, peanut butter, oatmeal, farina, nuts…. It’s really not very difficult to eat what is referred to as a pescatarian diet. Don’t understand why you think it’s such a challenge. And it certainly doesn’t warrant breaking with Shariah because you find it inconvenient. The sheikh here has given the correct ruling and it does not pose a hardship on poor people at all.

The only people that slaughter according to the shariah are the Jews, so muslims are allowed to eat Kosher meat. But Christians dont even have ritual slaughtering, because they corrupted their own cripture. This is not the scripture which the Quran mentioned. So I pass this explanation, and I don't agree with this Sheikh. And so I state that muslims in the west, where I am also living have 1. plenty of halal alternatives. 2. are only allowed to eat Kosjer. 3. the sripture the Quran mentioned isnt been used by christians now a days. They dont even slaughter animals in Gods name, and if they did, it would be shirk, beacues it would be in the name of the Trinity.

This sheikh couldn’t be more wrong, sadly this is where the salafis are lacking. Christians do not slaughter, because no Christian or 1% of genuine Christians are involved in the food chain. Foreign lands where meat comes from do not have Christian slaughter houses. So the sheikhs lack of education topic means he has just permitted meat slaughtered in foreign lands so long as it’s not mechanically slaughtered.

If this is what you took from his teachings then you haven’t paid attention to what he said. The people of the west aren’t Christians. They don’t invoke the name of god when they slaughter animals. Your accusation is invalid. We as Muslims should know that the food of the west is not suitable for our consumption. He expects this minimum common sense. He’s actually going against what the modern salafis are saying and is supporting what you and I practice. I think you’ve misconstrued his statement.

I totaly agree with your point. Sheikh doesnt now that the scripture the Quran says. Isnt the same scripture from christians in the west, because in the scripture they need to slaughter animals in the name of God. The crhistians don't do that anymore, and if they do, they slaughter it in the name of the trinity.

Christians, BY DEFINITION, worship Jesus. They are Ahlul Kitab. They worshipped Jesus during the time of the Prophet ﷺ when they were calked Ahlul Kitab.
