Thank you. Great video; best one on You Tube. It's quieter than I thought based on the hand press only videos I've seen. Not too loud once you are on it; weight distribution seems to help.

Haha this video has reminded me exactly why I returned my Xtherm after just 1 camping trip!! Looking into what to buy now, how much quieter are the Ether Light XT's compared the the new gen Xtherms?

@@erock139 I didn't get a replacement yet. I have just been using an old cheap inflatable thing. I'm now torn between seeing if this new NXT version is any quieter or going with the Sea To Summit Ether Light XT, the extreme is just too heavy at 720g. I'm going to order both now and send one back.

If it still helps about a month later, I was able to try all 3: The original Neoair, the nxt and the STS Ether Light XT Insulater (what a mouth full). I found the STS to be the quietest in optimal conditions, just because its insulation is quiet. However, because of the slightly rubbery texture on the outside, depending on the surface of your tent floor and sleeping bag, it tends to squeak slightly. I still found it to be the most comfortable and the squeaking bothered me less than the chip bag sounds.

Not much difference in sound but the NXT mustard colour aesthetic is better than the lemon colour of the previous model.

Hi, Thank you for your comment! The new colour is definitely an upgrade from the previous model. In terms of sound, it’s a significant improvement and a noticeable difference in person. According measurements, it’s six times quieter than the previous generation.
