I have the 2021 Premium Plus Turbo. Love it. Handles nice on the rural roads of Connecticut, and it is fast on the interstate. All my riders like the Bose speakers. I just turned 71, and this car is fun to drive.

Once you get used to it, you never will want a touch screen. All the reviewers bash the lack of a screen. It takes some time but it is super easy to use once you have used it for awhile.

@@kamalporter706 it’s well documented if you care to look it up. Mazda created it as a placeholder to satisfy government requirements for electric cars. Mazda had to offer something quick to satisfy Biden’s new mandate. Mazda doesn’t expect to sell any. They partnered with Toyota so they can get help producing their real electric portfolio.

I just got myself a 2022 Mazda3 hatch AWD fully loaded in platinum quartz metallic. Up in Canada we get heated steering wheel and heated wiper de-icer for our frigid weather. It's exceeded all expectations so far. What a solid little car with a strong engine and it's 6 speed transmission suites it good. I'm so happy I bought it. Not a single rattle or creak inside, they really are going upscale with their products, Mazda. Very good review.

@@mezzb to be honest the wiper de-icer only gets used a few times a year in freezing rain and on snowy frozen mornings to help melt the icy wipers. I had it on my 2017 Corolla as well. I like the auto dimming side mirror too now that you mention it, it helps minimize glare from vehicles coming up on the left, I didn't think about it until you mentioned it. One of my favorite features so far is the driver seat/mirror/heads up display setting memory linked to the key fob, it's great to have it move back into position when I open the door, I just have to remember to reset the memory function any time I make a change I want to keep.

Normally I like the looks of hatchbacks more than sedans. But for the redesigned Mazda 3, the sedan looks better, to my eyes :)

I think the hatchback in white looks the best. The egg shape works with the color, otherwise other colors seem to clash with the design. The only thing I don’t like about that sedan is chrome on the front. It reminds me of old people, just use gloss black or a mat chrome.

Take a look at a Civic hatchback and how unnecessarily angular it is...also it's worth noting how Honda decided to slap cheap plastic honeycomb panels on the front and back end. It's such an ugly hatchback compared to the Mazda 3. The Mazda hatch is a more classic design and better build. The roundness of the rear side of it works with the stout front end, but then again it's all about preference.

@@moonboi4776 this is exactly what I thought, hatch looks racy, sedan looks classier. I got the 2022 hatch so I can throw my work gear in the back through the larger opening, otherwise sedan woulda been impractical for me.

I bought the trim below the Premium in last year's model and I have absolutely enjoyed driving it for the last half year. The car handles highways well and going around curves is very fun to do in the manual mode. Very happy I went with this over a Corolla SE.

The Mazda 3 is giving me Infiniti vibes with a LOT of value-added features and a SANE PRICE TAG. Mazda just gets a LOT RIGHT. I just bought a Mazda. It wasn’t even on the short list, but it was recommended that I visit a dealership. I test drove a 2019 CX-5. I was just IMPRESSED. And I get a REAL TRANSMISSION with 2.5 liter fuel injection.

I'm getting Mazda 3 premium AWD this week. Considered Civic, loved 2016-21 tenth generation, some called it "overstyled," but I found the design a fun departure from previous/current econobox ethos. Sure, it looked a little Pontiac, but was very slick and felt nearly midsized.

I remember sitting in the Mazda 3 back in 2019 at the Canadian International Auto Show and honestly it felt like I was sitting in a Mercedes A class. Lots of leather, great comfortable seating, excellent sound system, and really good steering wheel. The only issue I have with the Mazda 3 is the large c pillars on the hatchback version. Aside from that, Mazda killed it with the 3.

@@MrJohnnybravo141 I never bought a car before and have been driving a Lexus RX for 12 years that was givin to me.. So I want something a bit different but also affordable. You can probably guess that going from luxury to economy cars is a huge suck. But it seems like Mazda does quite a good job with making their cars feel upscale. Even Doug Demaro said this was his favorite compact sedan so I think that seals the deal for me.

The knob is cool. Your hand naturally rests there and means you take your eyes off the road way less too. Not too hard to get used to, plus no fingerprint smudges on the screen too

Some people don’t like Mazda’s infotainment control wheel, but I really like it in my Miata. The knock is it’s harder for a passenger to use, especially if they aren’t familiar with its use. It’s still better than a touchpad.

Leased a 2019 Premium. After three years of working remote and no commute the car is going to have maybe 11,000 miles on it. The lease buyout is 14k. Wasn't planning on keeping it but the cost is so low and the mileage so low - and the car so good - I'm going to keep it for at least another two years.

I love my 2018 Mazda3 GT. Everyone that rides with me is impressed and really loves the seat comfort the most. I love so many things about it, especially the handling and acceleration for its class, but living in south Florida, the AC has to be strong. I can definitely say, this car’s AC is always on point!

I have a 2021 Mazda 3 base model (GX). The side sill extension and the body below the door handles are hard to keep clean. Everything splashes up onto those parts. The 3 is also incredibly LOUD when started. Other than that, I like the car and think it is the best-looking in the class. Even the base model feels premium and comes with good features, and it was actually cheaper than competitors. A hidden gem.

it's loud on the start for 10 seconds because of heating the transmission.... the rpm goes to 1500. but after that everything go to normal

It's a shame they still don't have rear vents, especially since it's available in other markets. A little panel at the back of the center console with a USB port (or two) and a vent would really seal the deal for me.

It depend on the country.i own a new 2022 mazda 3 and they have rear vents but do not have leather seats. because i live in a coutry with high temperature and 7-8 month of year summer.leather it is not recommended if u do not have a garage in hot countries. so,different country receive different trims....

I am now the owner of a 2022 mazda3 hatch and I am happy with it in every way, but the only downside is that the interior is starting to make noises, the noise comes from the multimedia screen

I went with the 2022 touring Civic sedan, love it except the back up camera is worse than I could have imagined its so blurry. Also my IPhone 13 pro doesn’t work with their wireless charging. I like the all wheel drive with Mazda but i don’t care for their infotainment and no connectivity in back at that price? Keep ‘em coming Joe and Lori your channel is my favourite

I love the Mazda 3, I was driving a 2019 hatchback back when I was in Mexico before the pandemic. Highest trim which I had it, was $405,000 pesos which was about $20,500 USD (right now is a lot higher) but for the price I got it for, the car was AWESOME !! I have always been a Mazda fan, since day one, but the US price is a little bit too high. If you get the highest trim + turbo it can cost around $34k which is insane :( right now I'm driving a Honda Civic but I will be changing cars soon, and as much as I want the Mazda 3 again, price is a little excessive, cause I could def. get a larger sedan.

I am totally fine with the infotainment system of Mazda and how they decided to make it not touch screen. I drive a 2017 Mazda and it has the touch screen and I never use it. Everything can be reached with the knob at the center console. I hope the 23 year will be awesome as I will be looking to getting the newest turbo mazda 3.

I’m at the end of my Honda Civic SI lease and will probably pull the trigger on the Mazda 3 Hatchback for 2 reasons. 1st is I live in a multi driver family so the memory seat option is a winner, 2nd is the 6 speed trans instead of the CVT in the ‘22 Honda Civic and it appears to be about 1K cheaper WITH AWD, something Honda dosn’t offer, thanks for the review Joe keep up the great work.

@@RayanMADAO I’m average sized so interior space is not an issue. If I needed more room I would probably go into a midsize car, the “real” transmission, memory seats, no turbo and AWD just to mention a few are much more important to me, just my .02, thanks for your feedback.

I have a 2019 model. Love the knob over a touch screen! The screen looks fantastic as if it belongs on the car. To me other makers make it look bolted on like an after thought.

Just traded in my Forte GT for a 3 Premium today! Definitely stepped up to a nicer interior, and I was surprised how quick it was with the 2.5L naturally aspirated engine.

There are 2 usb ports in the center armrest plus a 12V socket. I'm sure they'll have passthrough holes for the wires as well.

Damn 32 mpg highway is pretty rough for a 22 compact sedan. Guess AWD is cool though, my 6 has never had any traction issues in snow though.

I just love the way u review Joe…as I said before…and on the top of when u review my favourite car Mazda…love it…could please say that Mazda 3 hatchback need some work done at the back of it..it looks too round for me ….

I had a 2011 Mazda3 Hatchback 6MT. I should have kept it and not traded it in. Love my BMW but I could have had both 😅😂. Love the review Joe!

Mazda's red looks addictively good! I have also heard that Mazda wants to move upmarket and convert to rwd to compete with BMW, Lexus, etc. and if they do as good as a job there as they did the 3, the competition is in for a surprise.

@@AAhmad3449 I disagree. Mazda was mulling the idea of moving upmarket for a while, going back to the 929 and Millenia. In fact, plans were underway to create a separate luxury brand shortly after Lexus and Infiniti rolled out. But now, instead of a separate luxury brand, it looks like the whole company is moving upmarket. And keep in mind Mazda already has a nice rwd car already in the mx5, a pure sports car in the truest sense and that's been around for a while.

I think besides the logo on the merch, RR needs to put some slogan on the shirts like On Throttle, Zonk, To The Door Panel, etc. Or do a collab with Hostess (twinkies) or Charmin...lol

I don’t mind not having a touch screen. The touch-turn-touch is very intuitive for me, as I run medical equipment with that type of control along with touch screens.

Piece of junk there's a reason why those cars are so cheap and as far as extended warranty read the small print they're refusing work that's supposed to be paid for with the warranty
