You take your foot off the break and open the door to turn off the car.

No, you’re supposed to turn it off by using the screen function. But you can also leave the car and it will turn off

⁠⁠⁠⁠@@RevsAndReviewsThat’s incorrect. The owners manual says “the vehicle will turn off when a driver exit is detected. The vehicle can also be turned off by pressing off on the infotainment display.” So no, you are not supposed to use the display, it’s just an option to do so.
