Thanks!! Is there a term for when you wear a shoe, play sports in it and after a few minutes the shoe is so painful because it’s too tight?

@@mattlau95 in my experience, that could be 1 of 3 possible things. 1: midfoot and/or toe box is too tight to begin with (may need to size up half a size. 2: our feet do swell from blood flow and and heat, so may need to readjust the laces. 3: maybe the shoe has too high of a heel-to-toe drop and you’re “forced” jamming midfoot and toes forward, causing foot pain.

My favourites budget shoe is the Puma TRC court blaze picked up my second pair for $36AUD = $23USD. Was on sale but he added further discount. Such a bouncy feeling shoe and the updated models don’t feature the breakdown in the forefoot which earlier models had.

Hi Foot Doctor Zach, would you considering to look at 361° One motion? I don't know If I should called them a 361° equivalent of WOW Flash, but it is a budget friendly, outdoor built (at least according to 361°) shoes with full length CQT, so etpu instead of eva. I bought a pair and I'd love to see how they look from inside as well as hear your opinion about them. Regards

13 is biggest though. I’m 14-14.5 or I’d grab it. I’m buying the AC12 Orange. Although I’m 68 I still shoot at the gym 4-5 days a week. Still love getting hoops shoe though. My favorite is still the KB9. Have 3 great ones and gym only pair. I still under the right conditions will play believe it or not. Admittedly at this age the athleticism isn’t there as much. But I love playing.

Top 5 budget shoe is a great video idea. Lots of parents with kids in bball programs could benefit from that instead of just going to a local store and buying the cheapest thing they can find that says it's for basketball, even though it might not be good for their kid's feet or knees. And if any stand out as an outdoor option that would be great to know as well.

Hello Dr. Zach, I need your advice: I'm 45 years old, and I had surgeries in both knees in 1999 and 2009, and I also had a torn labrum in 2016, but no surgery, just physiotherapy. My height is 182 cm, and my weight is 86 kg. I play mostly outdoors basketball, and I like running, penetrating, and shooting. What shoes do you recommend to me? Thanks in advance.

He doesn’t have time to answer this. He has a 2023/24 shoe guide video with tons of options. He also just put out top 5 basketball shoes for outdoor a couple weeks ago. One that he recommends in that video is New Balance Fresh Foam BB v2, which I also highly recommend. My favorite shoe at the moment. I got a pair for indoor and a pair for outdoor.

I am curious to learn if you attach some weight to the shoe, would the angle change? Theoretically no because the tangent of the angle is the friction coefficient. But not sure what would it be in an experiment. One assumption is when attaching weight, there are more rubber area in contact with the floor, which might increase the friction coefficient.

On a flat surface yes but on an angle no- we tried it a few different ways and they always slip at the same angle

User of both, heavier player here and i would recon Me d the ar1. Both are stiff and the ar 1 is a bit softer, but it does have a heavy outer material. So ar 1 for lockdown and cushion or the flash for the lightness and a bit stiffer cushion

Not good for tailor’s bunion. NOOO Doc when you say a shoe is bad for tailor's bunions does that mean it will require extended break in time to eliminate pain or will the shoe cause pain even after break in?

It’s hard to tell, it really depends on how your feet are shaped. He said Wade All City 12 was bad for tailor’s bunions too, but I went a full size up and they didn’t bother my tailor’s bunion.

If no hard plastic extended break in - if hard plastic or CF right there then just bad - most times sizing up or break in works fine

these look sick but you can get budget or even pro shoes from major brands so cheap on discount, especially in-store. its hard to go for these when you can get top nike/Jordan/Adidas for less on sale, sometimes way less if u pick the ugly color way

Only thing about WOW shoes is the nonexistent customer service. If you have a problem you will never get in touch with anyone. I sent email after email and numerous phone calls and absolutely nothing back. I learned my lesson and will not buy way of wade shoes ever again. To bad because the shoes are pretty good. BUYER BEWARE.
