The Begode Mten4 is the successor to the popular tiny Mten3 electric unicycle. It is a small playful wheel that is fun to mess around with. The Mten4 isn't going to replace my daily driver but it is a great EUC for a last-mile solution.

Not everybody has 20 different EUC’s to choose from for different occasions so I feel like the off road tire makes it more versatile.

I'm really glad that they went for offroad tire. For such a small wheel size it's a safe measure for a case when you suddenly go to something like wet leaves or thin layer of snow or dirt. With road tire on mten3 I always have been slipping on such surfaces until I installed an offroad tire on it.

Mten3 and Mten4 are perfect for me as my commuting vehicle. I can't fathom lugging around a 60lb behemoth to the office. With this little guy, I can get around and still tuck that under a desk. Plus, I prefer to cruise on the lanes rather than in the middle of traffic - which I am kinda forced to do if I ride something faster and bigger.

I run a regular onewheel speed group ride and often the EUC riders get bored of trying to stay at our speed so i can see this being brought to a slower group ride where you can just mess around Im also interested in this wheel because in the interest of personal safety and the type of paths i ride on the speed of this is perfect and as far as weight to range ratio its actually pretty high up there from a pure portability standpoint

What’s the average non aggressive speed of one wheels? Just curious I haven’t seen one in person to be honest

@@Cons2911 around 14-16mph for most riders depending on model, 18-20 for the fast ones, the GT can hold at 20 pretty easily and i rarely see them maintain above 22

@@tankmlee ok, yeah that is a bit on the low side (not saying it’s bad, they are different rides). I’m not an aggressive rider nor a speed freak and I ride 20 to 25mph. Wish I know someone with a one wheel, just want to try it haha..though I can imagine myself flying off of it

Hi Jimmy, I love my Mten4. It is not a beginner wheel, because it is so small it is unstable and it really helps me hone my skills. The shin pain disappears after a couple of rides. Mine is nicknamed Claptrap, from Borderlands and a lot of people have named it a Minion from Despicable Me. This wheel has been perfect for me riding in the neighborhood going or going for a coffee run on sidewalks. Because of its size it is not intimidating to other people walking or riding at me and I am able to easily maneuver it around people and other obstacles. It's pretty cool. There is an issue with a plug inside coming loose over time and there are fixes in the works for it. As Andrew noted the cover comes off with six screws and you could push the plug back in. I have siliconed mine and I'm going to ride about 20 miles on it tonight to see if it begins to unplug as I don't want to be dropped. You can see the plug to the top plastic on the upper left hand side. The only thing stopping me from taking it on a group ride is that there will be a line of people trying to go for a ride on it Lol.

@@freshlycharged I am 200 lbs and have been getting 30 miles depending on how fast I ride and how much off-road & hills. To me it is great for going slow and exploring the microcosm of the geography versus a wheel like the Master where you're exploring the macrocosm if that makes sense.

A very nice upgrade from the Mten3 and would serve as a great introductory wheel for smaller framed riders as well as a backup wheel to stuff in a backpack!

I just got this as my first euc ever and I absolutely love it. Just ridden an hour off road so far but omg so fun and unbelievable how long I can go on a charge! I don’t know the vibrating you talk about because I haven’t ridden other eucs. My experience to compare to are a Onewheel pint and Segway scooter. I love the Onewheel but wanted to try forward facing. This Mten is soooo much fun!

I agree with jimmy on the price. Granted, on paper it outperforms the Onewheel GT for less than half the price, and the battery is larger compared to the Mten3. However, it’s still quite a lot of money to spend on a wheel that most likely gonna be used as a novelty item or as a “screwing around” wheel. I would love to get one to sharpen certain skills, as well as have it as a beater wheel to teach people how to ride, but I can’t justify the price tag just to use it for those reasons.

In addition to the form factore, the comparison on range and price to the Onewheel GT is the thing that most attracted me to the Mten4. People are largely comparing it to the larger EUCs, where I'm actually seeing it as more of a Onewheel alternative. I have mine coming soon, the only thing I'm worried about is build quality. I very much hope the frame doesn't buckle or bend 😟

@@MalcolmBastien From my experience the frame can take a beating. I'm not sure as to how much of a beating it can take since my mten4 has only been in 2 crashes which scratched the frame pretty good. One crash was at 10mph offroad and the other at 20mph on asphalt

I sort of like it but mostly agree with the cons on it. However the big item that I think is a problem is Gotway stopping production of the Mten3.

I've actually seen this on a group ride in San Francisco. Hayden Wu had the very first one in the states and he was ripping it with the off road tire. I got one on the way and I'm intending to use it as my downtown commuter. I live in a somewhat small area. Also you can pick up the mten4 while in kickstand mode without the motor engaging if you grab it from behind the headlight. Euc Way of Life put that tip out there.

great video . your daughter is right - it hurts shins because of the low profile and the not very cushy pads that come with the wheel . I installed pads and the ride is much more convenient . but it's really fun wheel. you have great videos - please continue making them .

1000 bucks but don't forget it's battery is way bigger than your mten3, at $600 I'm sure your mten3 is the smallest battery pack size. The larger mten3 battery is 500wh for $1000 the mten4 is 700wh.

Good point. For what my daughter uses it for, she’s never had issues with the smaller battery in her Mten3 so that’s a perfect size for her. Of course, she’s a lot lighter than me. 😐

I see you put on some Jump pads on the mTen4. Which ones did you put on the wheel? Curious as to what would work. I have one on backorder. Supposedly coming in November time. Wanna get some good pads to hold my feet in for jumping.

Great video! I disagree on tire, but I’m also a off-road junky. Love that knobby, don’t care how well the light works. It looks cool. Overall I think it looks awesome and very practical! Personally prefer not having the cut off switch. I’m a minimalist though, takes what? Extra 5 seconds to shut it off and turn it on? No biggie. Can’t wait to get mine! Nice job JC

Excellent comparison. I think the mten4 looks good -- the headlight and tail light look especially cool -- and like most Begode wheels can probably be modded to make it good enough. I think I'm going to wait until version 2 or version 3 and ideally internal frame will be reinforced by then. Next would be adding padding around the shin and ankle areas. Then I would see about increasing the grip on the pedals by tapping some studs in there. And finally just about every Begode wheel could use some more weatherproofing. Shame they are discontinuing the mten3, but the mten4 could probably be modded enough to be a suitable successor. I am also curious about if there really is much added top speed and range. I regularly cruised around on my mten3 doing 18 to 21 miles an hour steady until about 30-40% of the battery was left. A bump of even a couple of miles an hour on the top end would be a selling point for me.

I am curious why you say you can't take it on group rides? I took it on our group ride no problem. I also cruised around at night in my downtown area on the street. I think the Knobby tire is great for the grass which is one of the benefits of EUC vs. E skate to me so I personally like the knobby tire and the general consensus from the owners I've seen discuss it online say the stock knobby is the best. Including people who have tried a street tire. Kids is spot on, my 13 year old just got his and is going to commute to school on it! He loves it.

Yessssss about the tire. Knobbies are only for making noise. I immediately swapped the OEM tire in my s22 for a kenda street tire and it still handles wet grass on a 40° slope. I hope they offer it with a different tire option

I actually got my 1st EUC 3 days ago, Begode RS19 Torque. Never touched an EUC until mine.... I would definitely find myself buying the Mten4. Mten4 looks like it would be nice for chill mode cruises for taking in the scenery or for quick errands.

I just bought this wheel because alienrides had a sale, and I thought why not? I really enjoy it. Once thing I'm a little bit worried about is that the charger says it's full but when I look on the display the little battery symbol doesn't look like it's full. It looks like 4 notches but seems there is room for a fifth. Thinking every notch counts as 20%

One nitpick J. - Frame is stamped steel I believe. Kinda flimsy, as pointed out in another review. I had a pre-order on one, then switched the money to a mcm. Then I sold that cause I don’t really need three wheels. Happy with my (fixed) s-18’s.

I wish they would have continued making the Mten3 honestly. Im in the market for a small wheel to replace my V5f and should have grabbed a 3 earlier. Bummer. Wish o e of these companies would come out with a IPS I5 type wheel sometime.... Something super light and small.

The mten4 looks cool. I would like better suspension every bump can kill you lol. I cant even clear the bump from the road to the parking lot. It ejected me and slammed my mten3 to the ground damaging the fuse. Fuse replacement isnt easy but atleast its not expensive. When dropping my motorcycle for maintenance this thing can get me back since its the smallest form you can get.

HA! "I'm not going to be riding this thing at night", LoL thats pretty much the only time I do ride it. I can say the light is good because its floody. my sherman, RS even my v11 the light was more spotty, narrow beam. The light does not have the same distance of throw as the other wheels mentioned but is perfect for 20-25 mph travel.

Haha I loved riding it at night, lights are brighter than majority of euc's out there espically from behind. Just need to wait for my fast charger to take it on 60km group rides haha... Looks unfinished like they rushed it. Considering how polished the MTen3 is this looks amatuerish ans probably a bit overpriced (but fair enough prices are weird at the moment).

Based on my experiences with Inmotion and Leaper Kim unicycles, the production quality and design of the Begode Mten4 are disastrous. This model is essentially two roughly joined metal plates with sharp edges that could easily cause injury. Furthermore, my unit came with a transparent cover stained with what seems to be glue, necessitating a full replacement and disassembly. Adding to the frustration, Begode’s policy on defects is unsatisfactory as they only offer repairs, not refunds or replacements, which is a stark violation of consumer protection laws in many countries. I strongly advise against purchasing this model due to its poor craftsmanship, inadequate customer support, and unacceptable response to product defects.

My KS 16S is 35 pounds and cost $1300, and is much more stable than this toy. I outgrew it fairly fast, but not as fast as you're going to outgrow the Mten4. Pure toy, and that's okay, but I wouldn't buy this as my first EUC.

saw this guy ride it n it did horrible off road .. it also cut off too .. it keeps going even your off of it .. fr 1k ..its not worth it .. just seeing how bad it preform on that playground .. yeah thats a no fr me ...lol
