I have this camera with a 7" 4k Black Magic Digital Assist. It's a decent camera though I use my Lumix S5IIX more often now. I still use this for Podcasts and when the format and long zoom can be utilised. In daylight conditions the image is still very usable.

@@cameraheadstudios hopefully for another few years at least. I really want a camera with this format and fixed lens with the same video capability as some of the latest Mirrorless jobs. Full frame too :D

agreed I still use it. it's def a great work horse. funny story I took it to Colorado to shoot and elk hunting video. we went up 11,400 ft in elevation and I must say. she's a heavy girl. I had 60 lbs on my back and I was dying. I had to sit. she's not good in that situation but I learned a valuable lesson. I basically got rewarded with knowledge. however I take this thing everywhere to do shoots and for the price I feel I got a great deal on the quality.

I still have mine. Used still fetch very high prices. I’d love a upgrade. A GH6 sensor. 6K 4:2:2 10bit and a much faster bit rate. Since memory cards have become so fast since this camera came out.

I too own this camera and I LOVE IT! I have yet to hook it up to a Ninja, though. I may have to give that a shot...pun intended!

How good is the autofocus? Does it have object or face tracking? It’s a really intriguing camera.

@@richardactor I have owned one since 2018 and found the autofocus to be quite competent. Not just face tracking, if you touch any clearly distinct object on the flip out LCD screen, the auto focus will track that. Worth a look if you haven't tried the camera. I particularly like the audio configuration switches. You can switch either of the two audio inputs to either of the recorded audio channels. I like to record an on-camera subject using a wireless mic onto channel one and the camera-mounted shotgun mic onto channel two. On my Sony or Canon cameras, I had to physically swap audio connectors to achieve that resulting in longer XLR wire runs to route the up-high shotgun mic down and to the side to physically plug into channel 2 input. And then run the wireless receiver (usually on the back of the camera on the Sony layout) up and over to where the shotgun normally plugs in. With the Panasonic DVX200, two switch flips and Input 1 is recorded onto Channel 2 and Input 2 is recorded onto Channel 1. The Optical Image Stabilization is fantastic. I was quite skeptical of the advertising and brochure claims; thinking they were just marketing hype. I got a demo camera from Panasonic to shoot a press event in which I was on the video platform with the other reporters and TV crews. All the walking around that the media members was doing really caused my telephoto shot of the podium speaker to jump around. Then I activated the five axis hybrid optical stabilization and - BAM! The shot steadied and became quite useable. I did add a Video Devices PIX-E5H external recorder for 4:2:2 10-bit Quicktime ProResHQ and the videoposter is correct; it does reinvigorate the camera. It also allows for four audio inputs; two from the camera's XLR connectors and another two from the PIX recorders XLR inputs. Having a pair of wireless mics (to follow two people) while also having a camera shotgun mic or even using the built-in stereo mics for ambiance is very flexible in editing.

Hi. I've heard before that this camera goes up to 4k60. But i have 2 questions. What are the cons about Vlog L? Finally why is 4/3 mos sensor a bad thing?

Yes. UHD 4k at 60. But DCI 4k at 24 only. VLOG L (no answer). 4/3 sensor is bad in low light

@@cameraheadstudios ok understood. I want this camera because to me it appears to be the best all around camera. Can be used for videography, run and gun, documentary, movies, etc... With everything needed built right Into it. Goes up to 4k. Can give give frame rate. All around good camera.

@@kinglemuelpodcast I used it in a low light situation with a room of melenated people the other night and it worked very well. I had to use a video light attached to the camera of course. But I always use video lights in low light settings even on an iPhone.

@@kinglemuelpodcast I agree. See my longish answer above. I have used VLogL and its performance seems comparable to other extended range workflows. Low light performance seems to be to be similar to other cameras. Kind of like trying to buy the "best" automobile, no one product will be best in class in every category.

Being that this camera came out in 2015, but it is still in use today, can we use newer SD cards with it? if so, what is the maximum capacity we can use for this camera? How many minutes can you record via the atomos if you did 1080p 60fps, at 200 or prores hq? Does the atomos record audio as well? Does the camera send it the audio, or only the video?
