Hi Andrew. The exam is actually difficult. Part 1 questions that I got are moderate - I was able to manage it within 70 minutes and had time to review; Part 2 questions that I got are difficult - I felt I had a lot of mistakes and I think I took around 80 minutes and was not able to review; Part 3 questions are between moderate and difficult. I had 15 minutes left and I think for the questions that I flagged, I did not change my answer because in my practice tests, I usually get more wrong answers when I change my first answer. Your mindset in Udemy helped a lot. This is actually the most difficult exam that I have taken in my entire life and the exam that made me hungry the most because I really had to think. I thought I failed but was surprised that I did pass. I also wore a blue shirt on exam day. Took all your advice to heart. =)

Totally agree with you Andrew. I have been practicing Project Management since 2012, however was dreading taking the exam as it was a lot of memorization. I just couldn't get myself to memorize those ITTOs. Then the exam changed and with the help of your KZfaq streams, study course and TIA Simulation I cleared the exam with just 1 month of preparation! Mindset is the key and definitely clear concepts, mugging up is not gonna help in this exam!

Hi Andrew. I passed yesterday the exam. So I agree with you that the test is more understanding than memorisation. Actually I prefer that way! Although it was not a easy exam, I didn't finished by 10 questions. But seems that the ones that I did were right since I passed above the minimum. Your course on Udemy was really valuable and also your mock exams gave me the mindset that I needed. Thank you. ❤

I used your exam simulator and I passed a couple of weeks ago. I do agree the exam focuses on the mindset which is more difficult than just memorizing. The exam was difficult but I was prepared so I finished with a few minutes left, but the exam was tiring particularly the 2nd part. But timing is critical spend a little over a minute on each question and move on. Your simulator was well worth it.

I passed the exam last May 29, 2023. Given my background, I suck at doing memorizations. When it comes to grasping the principle behind the PMP Exam Content Outline Domain, Task, and Enabler breakdown, it clicked! I do believe in First Principles thinking, so by thinking in PM Principle behind Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid and connecting it with the mindset needed for People, Process, and Business Environment, it made the exam easier for me. I had 90 minutes remaining in my exam time when I submitted it. I was ecstatic when I found out that I attained Above Target in all 3 domains. The thing about this current exam is PMI wants the competency of the PMPs to be future-proof. Why do I say that? Future-proof by means of we're taking over AI automation, instead of AI taking over our work. With memorization work, ITTO and EVM formulas, that will soon be managed by PMIS with AI infused into the system. The emphasis on understanding the concepts, principles, the power skills and emotional intelligence needed, and integration capabilities of a project manager, that I think is far more valuable. A project manager is an integrator between people, process, and business environment. That is why PMI veered off from the TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT term and transitioned to WAYS OF WORKING in their PM Talent Triangle. If I've taken the memorization of ITTO and formulas exam back then, I would've find it harder, but thankfully, the current exam fitted my way of thinking.

I wrote my PMP for the first time in Dec 2022 & i was under the impression that a lot of information from the PMBOK will be asked as it is. But not even 1 was asked. Every dam question was conceptual and i had to grill my mind to answer every single question. And it felt like that i know nothing and I would fail. But i cleared it in the first attempt only. Thanks to Andrews for his amazing sessions. Gave me a crystal clear understanding of all the domains. Its all about concepts now.

I was once a person that lived on memorizing things but in the real world it is about proper application of concepts. I took course by Andrew at 1.5 speed twice in some areas like waterfall and passed my PMP exam a few weeks ago. The reality was that the week after the exam I was put in an exact situation from Andrew prep exam and it was the mindset that solved the problem. The same one that was taught in the course and I saw in the exam. There is a lot more to learn therefore understand the MINDSET SET YOUR MIND TO A SERVANT LEADER. Hi Andrew, I passed my exam with 3AT recently. My exam was quite difficult. Thank God, I found your videos on KZfaq and purchaed the Udemy course and Simulator, the only material I used and of course, I wore BLUE!! The mindset is defiently the key. I studied everyday post work ( took me 2.5 months) and spent the last 2 weeks only revising and doing mocks. I was scoring 80+ on your mocks, which I did twice to understand where I was going wrong. How you explained every answer tuned my mindset. Thank God and thank you, Andrew! Exam - Overall the questions were longer compared to the simulator, but having the mindset helped.

What you say is so true. More than the exam being easy or not, like you say the preparation with the amount of knowledge, was the tough part. The best part of the tough preparation and the long process, is that you are able to apply , think and talk, like a PMP from day one. The mindset was very important and the slow and gradual way, to instill that, throughout your course and the book, makes it the best learning journey thus far. Kuddos to you and your team, for a helping individuals understand the concepts clearly. Also I cleared the exam in May...and been just basking in the new confidence and knowledge gained. It's has been an awesome preparation, and thanks to Andrew's course and the Book and TIA simulation.

I had taken the PMP exam in 2022 with a memorizing mindset and failed. The exam was tough. Then I came across Andrew's course and materials and passed it with flying colors in 2023. I completely agree with Andrew’s assessment. A good PM has to understand the concepts and he can look up a formula. I think PMI is right on track with the new exam. It does a person no good to get a job and fail because they do not know how to be a good PM. This new test checks to make sure you can apply what you know.

Believe me it was one of the hardest exams that i have faced until now. but once you get into the mindset, it will be evident to you why they made it so hard. 'They want you have the mindset at the core'. after passing or failing the exam, you are not the old project manager anymore, you become a PMBOK guy. i am very thankful to Andrew for the mindset rather than earning the certificate. To those who failed at first attempt, and getting ready for the second attempt, i am pretty sure you will do better this time, just listen to Andrew.

The actual test has fewer PMBOK terms in the answers and scenarios. I took mine yesterday and passed 3 AT bc of AR's mindset section that helps guide our understanding and approach to the scenarios. The course, basically, trains you to subconsciously adopt PMBK framework and apply it to decision making with the same ease as using common sense to eat when hungry. Memorization of terms won't help... you gotta know what the functions are of the methods and artifacts and apply 'em practically... bc the test writers basically created an alt world, (a Twilight Zone, if you will), in the test where no one uses the terms to describe the situation or the document titles. They do the same with all the familiar Agile terminology. Take a carb-load snack and some small canned coffee. The weird feeling created by generic language is going to take a toll on ya. I had chicken basil rice from my fave Thai place a couple hours before going in...at the exam i only stashed ny wallet and the small canned coffee. Thank you Andrew!

The exams is definitely not easy. I wrote mine a few weeks ago, May 13. It was very difficult, I missed a few questions at the end because time ran out. I did just take the test and passed. I did think it has been devalued. I hesitate to call it easy though it felt insanely easy ro me because i tend to be good at that format of test. However i think it has been devalued regardless of “ease” because there is less of a specific skillset tied to it. I know that people who pass now will probably be good at taking tests, and thats about it. The old one, i would know they probably can put together a project schedule, etc. Also they make money off of people not being terrified to take it because its too hard

Hi Andrew, this test now is more situation-based. Taking into consideration the time you should allocate to read, comprehend each scenario, and then "evaluate" different paths you should take to resolve this scenario. I think it's harder than memorization like a marathon, so to speak. Basically, PMI is thowing at you 180 problems you should think of a methodical way to resolve in 4 hours. Additionally, factor in any language barriers might be there for non-native English speakers who're taking the exam all around the world in English language.

I'm studying to take the exam next month. I believe the PMP now focuses more on real cases and is based on real experiences rather than theory, unlike the PMP before. This requires you to learn and understand concepts and mindsets instead of just memorizing them. In my observation, PMP-qualified members before 2018 have not performed well in practice.

Whether the exam is easy or hard, if you are in line to get your PMP, bottom line is one MUST study and put in the work. Period! I have been in the IT industry for a decade and I have heard horror stories on how hard and tricky the exam is but if you are truly putting in the work, you will pass. I was super nervous myself but when I took it earlier this year, after two months of studying, completing the AR Udemy course, I passed on first attempt w/ AT in all domains. My personal thoughts are that the exam is actually now a bit easier to crack because PMI has eliminated formulas. You can literally skip over the Cost Management section and you will do fine. Lastly keep in mind as I do, luck favors the well prepared. Wish you all the best! -Max

Hi Andrew, First, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to the effort you put in developing the PMP Exam Simulator. Your content was priceless, and today I passed my exam with Above Target result! It took me 3 months to prepare but by the grace of God I am now certified! I've watched your video on how to apply PMP in real like (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9CZiq2ix7LFdIU.html). However, I am deeply concerned. Despite having read the books, studied the course, taken the notes and invested energy to understand the subject, I feel there are critical elements missing in the PMP exam content to empower PMs in implementing the best practices. For example: 1- We learnt that a good PM would understand stakeholder engagement models and act based on that knowledge to increase engagement . We haven't learnt "how" that will happen. How exactly would a PM influence stakeholders? 2- We learnt that a good PM would work with the team to resolve conflicts and for instance have a team charter. How will that happen? What would be the conversation that a PM drives to facilitate conflict resolution? 3- We learnt that a good PM would motivate the team and try to identify root cause issues when individuals under perform. However, there are people with whom sometimes we just can't work, and we don't like each other. How to deal with that? 4- We learnt that if a product owner is not prioritizing the backlog properly, we can invite the customer to join the planning and understand business value this way. What if the customer rejects to join despite having explained the benefits of such engagement? 5- We learnt that it is best practice to follow the 49 processes or the agile ceremonies, but what if the sponsor is resisting initiating some as fundamental as a project charter? What if he sees all the management plans as a waste of time and a bureaucratic paperwork meant to waste time and justify PMs existence? The list goes on, but I think you get my point. Please don't get me wrong. The PMP content is extremely valuable. I am just not sure how to take it to the next level and execute. PS: I wore blue for the exam and later celebrated with my wife and an 8 month son by going to a fancy high tea buffet where we had a carrot cake. I've just finished my Pepsi too!
