You didn't use the product properly in almost any of these examples. There's no reason to let it sit - it contains no solvents and it's akin to touching a "magic eraser" (another abrasive cleaner) to a surface for some time before beginning to clean. Makes no sense, right? The Pink Stuff is a not-bleach abrasive cleaner using quartz (Ajax and Comet are abrasive cleaners that use bleach) in the same category as a magic eraser. The difference is that it contains some gentle surfactants that will help it to wash away lipids. The thing they all have in common is that you need to use elbow grease and maximize surface area while doing so. No brushes - brushes of any kind render the product largely useless and it's just the same as using some baby shampoo and a toothbrush. The abrasives need something like an old, nonabsorbent sponge or kitchen towel that will let them scrape away what you're cleaning. Long story short, learning some basic chemistry and reading the ingredients of anything with a label will make the world more sensible in every aspect.

For shower heads, fill a sandwich bag with cleaning vinegar, and attach it to the shower head with elastic bands.

WEll you scrubbed it out with a brush and water after the solution sit for 15 minutes on top of the shoes. any cleaning solution would have provided the same results after getting applied and then cleaned with running water and a brush and with constant scrubbing. No secrete!

We used to have something like that in the 80's called Like Magic.

But what is it and how does it work?

I think you need to research the actual mechanism of how product actual works. It's an abrasion method product... Meaning it will scratch on the microscopic level and more depending on intensity of rubbing... so it can damage certain surfaces such as glass and smooth plastic... duration of leaving product on probably doesn't make much if any difference in its effectiveness...

it doesn't remove stains at all... splat hair dye from a painted wall... guess what did get it off fast la awesome spray it let it sit wipe off done.. no scrubbing needed 🤷🏻. bathroom cleaner it isn't good enough definitely sucks at cleaning the tub on hard water spots.
