Is the Trex 600e still worth it in 2022?

I do a flight test of an Align TREX 600e Pro that I bought second hand. Its the first flight for this heli.

I’ve got a brand new 600EFL Pro sitting in my cupboard. Bought it and built it but never flown. You’ve inspired me to get it out. Cheers

nice, i have for the last year colected some older trex helis in spare parts from different shops around the world, 450 pro v2, 450 sport v1/v2 and a 500 pro. planning to find all i need for 2x 500e versions and maby also a 600 nitro. really love old trex helis, they should come back

Combos are often lower end components insufficient for the task. I bought the Align 550 DFC years ago from Helidirect, with a Gopro gyro and a Castle ESC 80 amp if memory serves. Gopro wouldn't hold for crap in backwards loops, With all tuning just wouldn't hold. Never crashed the heli. Had an Align sponsored pilot fly it at IRCHA asked him to push it which he didn't. Told me it was fine. No matter, the ESC fried, bird went down and burned, by the time I got to it, it was a ball of melted goo. Thanks Helidirect.

Yeah I often find that the components in these heli's are for the average user, if you are going to push hard and maintain that pace I would suggest higher end components that can keep up.

I had the 600 E pro All i can say is replacement of any suspicious part's just replace them. If the helicopter is getting boom strikes replace the head dampers with a harder set.

I have a 550E with the 600 head and boom..i absolutely love it..such a solid bird...biggest thing i dont like about align ..is all the different versions they come out with...they put out 10 different versions of the same heli..and you end up ordering parts that wont work..very frustrating. Like this heli here...looks almost identical to mine..but i noticed the tail servo is mounted to the boom...ive never seen one like that before

His 600E is not a pro, the 600 E all had the servo on the boom. Look closely at the video, its only a 600 Pro canopy, the rest is all just 600 e old ancient model.

@@elitecol69 i see..thankyou for the reply..it just goes back to how confusing it is..ive orderd wrong parts so many times...because it will say for 550e...but when i get it...its the wrong part lol

@@elitecol69 for example..i orderd a tail rotor hub...went to install it and my grips wouldnt go on..because of the step downs on the end..mine were the same diameter from the end all the way to the center..i ended up ordering an upgrade tail from helioption..it has an inner and an outer radial bearing wheras the align just has one inner radial no outer

If you bought this as a Trex 600e Pro you got scammed, this is a trex 600e with a pro canopy. Frame, is completely different and power system is different, 600e non pro is a 6s system, 600e pro is a 12s setup and frame and servo locations is completely different.

Yeah I bought it as a 600e, it was advertised as a 600e (NOT PRO). So luckily in regard to the model I did not get scammed but... there are some issues with it that I found on the second and subsequent flights. Honestly its a miracle that it took of this time. Seller lied about the condition, as usual. But thanks for the info, I really don't know these 600's and the difference between the various models. I'll update the title of the video accordingly.

This IS NOT A 600 e PRO, its just the canopy, its a 600 E original ancient model, 6S, look at the head height too, and boom mounted tail servo. Not the Pro. Pro has a slide in battery tray for 12S under nerath.

I fly the 550 e was flying good now esc is playing up.

If it was a combo, change the esc to higher amperage.

I am not sure what gyro they came out with, but I have put a Spektrum FC6250HX FBL unit in it that makes it fly as you see in this video. The battery that I’m using is a 5000MAH 6S.

What’s the best place to order parts for rc helicopters

Well it depends on where you are located. It is really difficult with older models to find parts. I have found a lot of parts on Amazon and Ebay, just be very sure of the model, part number and dimensions of your part as a lot of the parts are made in china and they don't always get it right. For my Align helicopters I have found original parts on the Align Trex Shop at aligntrexshop.com. Also an issue getting parts here for older birds as they have discontinued a lot of the older models and no longer supply parts for them.

The 600 was never worth it. Their tail gears too inferior in quality to hold up in hard flight.

600e vs 600e Pro ... not that either are bad, but you are too laid back in your evaluation. Just simply hovering and moving it around a bit is hardly qualified as determining "worth it". This video shows nothing of real value to even come close to an evaluation.The whole point of these birds is to get upside down, doing the funnel, metronome/tic-toc etc. You didn't even put it through some hard pitch pumping to see how it handles the stress.
