Right. " no tie downs". This guy is all about looks and trim. He would not recognize functionality if it bit him in the ass! If he ever came across a bail of hay or a bag of feed he would be completely baffled as to what it was.

I would like to see that too, but that market just doesn't seem to exist anymore. Sadly, most people these days buy a truck when what they actually need is a minivan. But... that wouldn't be cool I guess so they reduce the bed size, enlarge the cab into a gargantuan 6-10 seater, and add loads and loads of plush features and electronics. Most have never seen any off roading, hauling (more than groceries) or towing. Just a status symbols for hauling the family around lol.

I hated to pay out that much money, $16k , was a very lot of money for me, on a fixed income to buy. Love that sweet auto show content 😂👍🏻
@HiPlains1
@HiPlains1 4 жыл бұрын
Taco may have better looking dash but the seats are not as comfortable. Belt line is much higher and harder to see whats in front when offloading. The taco's 3.5 / six speed has improved but still not as good as the older VQ 40 5 speed. Its still a harder shifting, early shifting, gear searching mess. Yes they have improved it some, but there is only so much one can do with that crappy active learning trans. Now Toyota will have to finally update that shit drivetrain because the GTR inspired 3.8 direct injected with 9 speed is going to make the toyota offering even less inspiring. About the only thing that can save the taco is if they would finally put the D4D overseas diesel in it. But that will never happen. The 2020 may not cause much concern for the taco but once the fully updated 21 comes out it will cause allot of pain for toyota. Talked to some who have seen it. Supposed to have a very aggressive look. NIssan is doing a good job keeping any leaks coming out. Even better then Apple.

These are the best mid-size trucks! My parents had a 2007 and put over 100,000 miles on it, and except for a few rattles, and new spark plugs, it was still in good shape for another 100,000+ Miles. They now have a 2018 with under 20,000 miles. I know they will get a good 10 or more years out of it! They always start right up and are reliable. I bought, brand new, a 2016 Frontier and it meets my needs perfectly. I don't need fancy this and that stuff that I wonder about the necessity of, anyway. I'm glad to see that they're putting more speeds in the transmission. This is arguably one of the complaints I have about my truck. Hopefully, they've also put more low-end torque in the tune because the 5-speed mine has, coupled with the stubborn gear change tuning is NOT a good recipe for an engine that wakes up around 3000 rpm. It would have been nice to see them keep the 4.0L mill and increase the torque all the way across the entire range. All told, I'm happy with my truck and I expect to get around 200k trouble-free miles out of it.

I was looking to buy a new Frontier about 5 years ago. The truck drove good, but the turning radius on it and the Titan was as bad as it gets for a 4x4. I liked that it was a bare bones, no frills "old school" truck. I rarely buy into a new engine and transmission. Could be a very bad thing or it could be a very good thing. It's about time Nissan does a complete makeover. Hope they get it right.

This is the perfect truck to buy for a teenager or for a fleet. The platform is tested and tough, the new engine and trans gives it the power it has needed. If I owned a business that needed 4x4 trucks, I would buy these because there are plenty of parts out there and aftermarket parts. Last I checked the Frontier has a standard limited slip rear diff, and the Pro-4 X has a locker for off-road. The Nissan will go anywhere the Tacoma will go for a lot less money. If you want a great truck, this should be on the list until the new more expensive model comes out.

@@eminye1 The old engine and transmission from 2005-2019 predates all the bad decisions Nissan has made over the last handful of years. The Frontier may be a bare bones truck that isn't really that fun to drive... But they'll be far more reliable than most of the other vehicles in Nissan's lineup. Plus you can get a used one dirt cheap if you need a truck for something.

The brakes i feel will always engage about half way but feels precise once they make contact. Great truck

I love the Frontier, my local Nissan dealer still has @ brand new 2020 cheaper than you can buy a used 2020 or 2019. It is so hard to resist not buying. I rented one of these on vacation a few years ago because renting a truck was $500 less than a car. I felling in love with that truck in a week. I like everything about this truck that the reviewer doesn’t, I love the exterior looks. It still looks like a truck, I like the simple clean look of the interior. It’s a truck not a luxury car. As far as size it’s perfect for me. I’m only 5’7 so I don’t have to have my sear right up against the back seat. My wife is 5’5 so our seats were at a very reasonable place that the kids in the back had plenty of room. One being over 6 feet tall and the other being 5’6. The Nissan Frontier will be my next vehicle but I’m holding off till the warranty expires on my piece of crap GMC with that terrible 4cyl eco tech engine. So hard to resist not going and buying that brand new 2020 for under 30,000 with an original sticker price of almost 36,000.

No tie down locations? You cant be serious. This Nissan has the most versatile tie down system out there. Its what the rails on the walls and floor of the bed are used for. They didn't have the tie downs installed in the truck, but you get six of them and they can be placed anywhere in the track and they work beautifully.

I love my 2013 Nissan Frontier and wouldn't trade it for any of the new tech gadgets that come with newer trucks. I prefer less tech and a simpler design. I would like to see another 12" of cab space so the back seat could have more leg room. Having a little more width to the truck would also be a benefit. My only complaints with my Nissan Frontier is the assembly of the dashboard and also the exhaust system, both of which have a vibration/rattle issue. The tie downs are a must have and maybe a little more lift for offroad. So far, I've racked up close to 15,000 adventure miles in the backcountry of New Mexico and every 5000 miles when I change my oil, there is hardly any dirt in the oil.... It's almost still gold. I love the look of the 2020 and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Nissan makes a solid truck.
