Thank you, Nina. My movement practice has become very intuitive, so I tend towards primal movements. And my teaching is somatic.

Thanks so much for letting me know! I love how with time our teaching becomes more and more intuitive - especially when our bodies know what we need. And I adore SOMATIC yoga as well. I actually did 2 recordings in lock-down. Do you have a go-to posture that you love teaching beginners (here's the class I created kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pt6Uo9Z1qJ-6gZc.html in case you're keen to see).

@@YogaAwakeningAfrica My favourite is starting in constructive rest, moving to windshield wiper knees and then allowing the body to guide into unwinding, expanding, and gliding. Although I learnt these through SomaSensing (a somatic movement practice) I find it so beautiful to bring into a floor practice. I guide from a somatic perspective and give my students time and space to explore what their bodies respond to and what feels nurturing. These primal movements help to loosen and unwind tension, preparing the body for stronger holding poses or a vinyasa.

I TOTALY love constructive rest as well. How is this for timing. Just as we were chatting about constructive rest I ended up with an SI joint challenge - hopped onto my mat, did constructive rest for a couple of times a day for 2 days and viola... nearly back to normal. Thanks for the inspiration to record today's live, kzfaq.infobehD0eWmHGw all on SI joint instability and using symmetrical postures and constructive rest to heal. :-)
