We used to loosen chains, take off tension. Put the wheels on a block of wood.

Clean throughly, oil every shiny surface, oil chains, grease all bearings, run at tick over for 5 minutes, then slacken chains and springs especially on flywheel slip clutch .coat the knotters throughly with gear oil and cover with oil soaked cloth. Oil and grease pto shaft and ujs, don’t forget the release pins and splines. When doing all this stuff make a list of things that need attention before next season if you haven’t already fixed everything, ie, knife clearances, plunger alinement, knotter knives sharpened , twine tensioners, gearbox oil level/change, drive chain wear, etc etc. Oh and a few mothballs in the twine box to keeping the vermin out! Park it up ,then blocks under the axles . Three hrs now may save a few days of grief next season.

Clean it out, blow the dirt off, power wash, grease and oil chains then let it run for 15 to 20 minutes to work any water out of the bearings. I measure the threads on the chamber pressure reset it where it was. After the first two or three bales the tension is pretty close.

Put them inside and don't overthink it, we never did anything real special just keep it simple wash it down and grease it, we'd run the same Baler for many years and putting over 18,000 Bales a year through them, never had a problem I'm sure there's going to be some snarky comments about that but hey it's KZfaq LOL
