Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Tuesday that his country is not looking to escalate the situation with India. Canada will continue to "engage responsibly and constructively with New Delhi", Trudeau was quoted as saying by Reuters.
Tension between the two countries has been escalating every day since Trudeau alleged that there was a "potential link" between the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and the Indian government.

Regardless of any outcome Mr. Modi comes out as a winner in all scenarios. If Canada shows that India did this, Indians will be touting his capabilities and if India keeps escalations active, Indians again will be happy to see the strength.

They don't support khalistani but aren't against them either. It maybe due to fear of coming out in public or hidden support no one is sure. But Sikhs in other parts of India like in my place don't even give a damn about khalistan. Khalistan is a big migration and drugs scam and the west lets it run wild as long as it gives India a bad press. But as Dr jaishankar said you don't keep snakes in your backyard and expect them to bite your neighbours. So, If India comes down hard on khalistan or Canada the US will have no other choice except seeing larger geopolitical interest and will either stop funding and supporting khalistanis or exterminate them either way once khalistani loose western support they will go haywire. This is the plan of Indian government and you will see it realised fully in under 5 years.

I am Canadian. 5:50 - Daniel is right when he says “matters of geo-political security aren’t front of mind” Most Canadians don’t care about this whole India incident. If India killed the guy then the courts will deal with it. If not then it is another blunder amongst a long list of blunders. Ironically, it is Indians that care more about this than Canadians even though it was a Canadian that was potentially assassinated.

This Canadian who was "potentially assassinated" was had a red corner notice against him from Interpol and he was mollycoddling with the Canadian intelligence who was sucking up to him. There are many Canadian citizens who are demanding that India be split and for Kalistan, what do Canadians have to do with anything Indian? Why are these Canadian citizens threatening Indian citizen with violence and hatred, this is unbecoming of any civilised nation which I believe Canadian at least think they are? Should Canadians not be worried of their nation aiding, abetting and funding terrorism in India?

Why do you Hindu people have a hate for Khalistan? Punjab belongs to Sikhs. Actually all india belongs to the Sikhs because they are the ones who sacrificed the most for the freedom of india. Ask yourselves didn’t Hindus also once wanted their own country before they got Indian independence in 1947 from the British? Currently it’s like a abusive relationship between Sikhs and Hindus and if one is being abused(Sikhs) then you will also understand why they would want out of the relationship and I don't know the aspiration of having our own independent country is considered a crime. In past 40 years, 34 new countries have been formed and recognized by the UN. It is not a big deal. It is just what people want for themselves. People like you are trying make us feel like demanding for a separate state is a sin. In western countries, you can have a separate country if people want it. just vote for referendum.
