I lost my mother recently. As much pain and torment I am in, I constantly ask where she has gone? Where will she be? Will I find her? I want to find her. This pains me and it frustrates me when you don't get a certain answer.

I'm sorry for your confusion but here I am to answer that and if you don't to believe it's ok but here it is And they say, “There is not but our worldly life; we die and live (i.e. some people die and others live, replacing them) and nothing destroys us except time.” And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming. And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, their argument is only that they say, “Bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful.” Say, “Allah causes you to live, then causes you to die; then He will assemble you for the Day of Resurrection, about which there is no doubt.” But most of the people do not know. (Quran, 45:24-26)

Our consciousness is basically a complex electrical circuit or in other words , a collection of varying charges which is extremely extremely vast and extremely complicated. When these electrical signals flow , they leave a trail of photons which escape outside our skull in form of either visible frequency or infrared frequency photons which keep transferring to the environment in form of em radiation. So basically , all our thoughts and memories , every electrical flow of ions leave a trail of every electrical activity of all our 100billion neurons through our lifetime to our environment which scientifically might mean , That our consciousness never dies even if our whole brain and body is anhillated , it is just transferred to it's environment at subatomic level. Researchers should really look into this.

When I’m alone, my door is opening (via doorknob), the tv turned on itself. Something like that. I believe in afterlife because of paranormal things. But still. Who knows. Peachyy I kinda was too but if you think about it, before we were born we were all in some place of nothingness until we are born, so what make us fear nothingness if we die if we didn’t feel it before we were born. We had no recollection of the past present or future. What puts fear is that we might somehow be put into nothingness with our consciousness which won’t happen.

I lost my uncle because he got shot at night because there were two people who were trying to rob/steal his car, and he refused to give them the keys and shot him. He was a really cool uncle and he always took care of me when I was younger. I really hope to see him in the after life.

@Ivan Moreno You do realise many christians believe "aliens" are "fallen angels"/demons, and some Muslims believe these aliens to be "jinn" who are not necessarily evil but just like a random stranger you can't trust them, doesn't mean you are allowed to harm them but the rule is to mind your own business and don't talk to them, leave them alone, same rule in Judaism.

I’m just so scared of dying. It gives me so much anxiety. A couple of years back I remember having a panic attack in the middle of the night over it and I could not calm down. Sometimes I wish I was never born because I wouldn’t have to worry about dying. But now this life is all I know and I’m scared of what will happen when I lose it.

@@jerelle6283 I dont think life has a purpose. Even if it's only to die. It's our job to give ourselves purpose. For some people it's to be wealthy. Others make it their goal to enjoy life. Personally I dont want anything to matter when I die. I dont want to have to exist with regret, or guilt, or anything. I want it to end when I die, but everyone's different.

@@mcheesy5887 What if life is random? I mean, it could be possible that the way our neurons are placed inside our brain makes us the persons we are. So, after we die we feel nothingness, until randomly the same placement in brain neurons happens and we are reborn( which is eventually gonna happen since infinity is infinity). Just a theory though. If you ask me, life is a test. Probably you will have a second or infinite chances after death, but nothing is sure. Hope we all make it to the other side and don't cease existing.

@Lazar eternal sleep is confusing. When you sleep for 12 hours and wake up the next morning it feels very fast, as if that 12 hours do not exist. However if its an eternal sleep it cant feel fast because there is no endpoint to eternity. Eternal sleep brings as much uncertainty and is as vague as nothing! Nothingness like the one you "feel" before birth is also confusing. Going from nothingness to something and from something to nothing FOREVER is just 2 very different things. We did not have conciousness before birth then we get one, and now that we have one what would it "feel" like to lose it? The thought of doing something or being in a state for eternity is scary. Also how do we know we have not die before? Lol this hurts my head

Don't let it get to you. I overthink it a lot too until I realize that every single animal in the universe HAS to die. I just feel like the concept of nothing happening after you die is just impossible. The concept of nothing and non existence just cancels itself out. If nothing or non existence happens after death, then they must exist in order to do so. This is when the contradiction comes in. Nothing means that there is no thing, or the lack of something. For nothing to exist, it need to be something in order for it be real and to truly be something to witness or experience. Or nonexistence needs to exist in order for people to witness it after death, but it can’t because it’s nonexistent. You can’t witness and see something that doesn’t exist. And no, it’s not like sleeping as well. Because when you sleep, your brain is still working and functioning.

This is a great way to see it however if you've never existed before, you haven't been through it yet. But the thing is when you die, you won't exist anymore so you won't go through it. We will never be dead during our conscious existence, because we'll stop existing once we die.

My best friend always said your afterlife depends on you and your beliefs and wants. He wasn’t exactly religious but he believed you go where you believe you’ll go and want to go. Heaven, reincarnation, a ghost, ceasing to exist, etc. He was one of those people who believed in peace and hoped for a world where everyone accepted and loved our diversity instead of bringing each other down for disagreeing.

Think of it this way: Experiencing "nothing" is impossible. And the way we think of it is weird, because we can only compare it to being in a dreamless sleep. Unconsciousness, right? Well, we're not afraid to sleep. And we all sleep. Also remember: we really have no idea about anything beyond our belief systems, which we created ourselves. Every after death theory is equally ridiculous. We believe one (like there is “nothing” or that there is “heaven”) due to our own belief set. Ultimately, since there is no way around dying, it might suit you to apply that to being present, as the present may (or may not) be all you are and have. At least in this form of existence, so why not do your best and experience it fully? We have control on what we focus on. We have control on what we do. Stuff happens all the time, our job is to decide how to respond. Sorry this is so long, I have some positive after death theories too if you'd like to hear them

Reading through all of the comments I suppose the greatest comfort that I take from all this is knowing that I am not alone in my thoughts. Several weeks back my gf lost her grandfather and since then I believe I developed Thanatophobia. In my opinion, the biggest downside to being human is that we are aware of our mortality due to our coveted consciousness. This party will end and no one knows who planned the party and if there will be an after party. During this party we all get together to discuss the purpose of it and what happens after. Using our intelligence, consciousness, and our understanding of linear time we get together during the party and discuss how the party started, its purpose, and what comes after. All the while we forget to enjoy the party while it lasts. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the comments. It brought me a great deal of comfort. Also, since my anxiety has calmed a bit I have another brain teaser theory. Its a reincarnation theory. Maybe we can throw linear time out the window. If reincarnation is real perhaps we are all born during different times in history..and to expand upon this further maybe even in different planes of existence, in different realities. Lol my imagination has been sparked.

For everyone worried about death. Don’t be, it’s just a natural part of the process. We are all one with the universe and all dimensions. Reading comments like this gives me comfort. But I just don’t believe that there is life after death, once we die, so does our state of consciousness, once our consciousness dies we die and everything we remember does, our soul lives on yet but that soul is just there, it is not us, so even if there is an afterlife, we won’t experience it because we seize to exist as soon as our brain dies. I’m I making sense or nah? 😂

Guys, i as a kid have cried for 3 hours in my room after realising that i would die some day, that realisation came 1 year ago, i got so stressed out and almost got a panic attack. That made me thinking every day and night, and why there are still people that are mean and evil, while we are all in the same road to death. No escaping of death. So to everyone that is avraid and is stressing out: you are not alone so try asking other people for help, that helped me a lot to just tell and listen. Have a peacefull live everyone

I had a near death experiment after a RTA. In my "coma dream" I remember being ecstatic, so so happy and it was AMAZING! i was on an escalator, going up, and I remember wearing fluffy pink PJs. i came to the top and walked very slowly and i was mesmerised, in awe! It was a moment of WOW! and then, being brought up as a catholic, I seen the pearly gates, again, WOW, so I kept walking. When I got there my four grandparents, who had all died before my RTA where on the other side of the gate and especially my to granny's where like: "Jenny, you're not welcome here yet. come back in 70 years" Then I remember being devastated and in shock and I just walked off... that was it! When I woke up, I lost my ability to read write or speak (which has been sorted more or less with speech and language therapy), but in the few words i did have, I remember trying to tell my dad and I used the nickname i had for one of my granny's and my dad knew I wasn't messing. I don't know what's there for sure, like everyone else but I will never forget such an experience.

10:19 that's what I fear the most, I'm so thankful that I really love my life right now, and I don't ever wanna forget anyone or anything due to death. I'm a pretty realist person, and my natural assumption is that when our brain shuts off, we just don't exist anymore. At least our self, as explained in the video, doesn't exist anymore. And I'll never have the to even chance to think about the people and things I love.

I had a dream where an "angel" of sorts came to me. It told me not to be afraid and that it was my guide mother, and that it loved me. It warned me that if I could get clean and off drugs I could live a happy life but if I don't it will soon be too late (I took that as I would die). I was holding the hands of this angel in this beautiful place, bright light and even this weird peaceful music in the background. I woke up the next day with a newfound unshakable faith. So yeah. Just figured I'd share. Oh and it told me to never forget I was loved. I woke up crying because I never felt truly loved before in my whole life.

I definitely believe our souls come back. I was born in NY and when I was a child from age 2-5, I spoke French fluently, even so my mother and father never spoke or understood French. My mother would yell at me to talk English! I understood English, but I just would respond in French. Decades later, I found out my great great great grandmother actually lived in France, something my mother knew nothing about. Ironically today, I can’t speak French, but understand a few phrases, but that’s all.

I'm really glad that you mentioned the DMT experience and its relationship with death. It would be nice if you guys did a video on 5meoDMT. This is the real deal! With some courage and persistence 5meo DMT can reliably generate the mystical experience plunging a person into a temporary, yet paradoxically eternal state of fundamental being. Temporary in that it only lasts around 20 minutes, eternal and infinite subjectively. Truly remarkable neurotransmitter, should be focused on with research.

What if, when we see the "light" when we die its another hospital room. When your born you come out crying, what if we come out crying because we remember our original family from our last life and we miss them. But over the years we adjust to the new life and we could not remember why we were crying because we were to little and our brain cant remember that far back. *X files music plays*

Babies cry at birth because they’re leaving a place that’s been comfortable for 40 weeks. Child birth puts a lot of stress on both the mother and child and it’s a painful experience for both. They’re also trying to clear their airways of the amniotic fluid. That’s a very comforting way of looking at it, but nah.
