Everything about Teeny is so delicate and undersized, except for those big expressive eyes. She may be slow, but she certainly seems alert and curious about her surroundings. I'm such a sucker for these teacup babies! Happy new year, Arroz! We're all still praying for a good outcome in Hong Kong.

It's amazing going back to look at our babies. It's a miracle Teeny was born with the will to live and made it. She is all skin and bones. You can see every single string of muscle in her tiny arms.

You have a gift with your camera you tell a story that makes us wa t to laugh cry or smile yet you also have away with names they fit and my goodness how you remember every single one of now tell me you dont love those monkeys??😘 Bc you do they are more than just a means to an end for you and thats what makes you a special man You appreciate nature and respect it. I like the name Trina for the older daughter too. Teeny is showing signs of malnutrition. Curled fingers and toes, hair looks unhealthy and dull look from her eyes is what I see.😢💕

Arroz, As much as you want to help Tina , you did make the right decision. My heart went out for Teeny & Tina they both needed a sweet potato to the best possible vitamins for both to share. No teeth for Teeny yet, differently not enough milk/calcium factor.

I've always felt that if you can walk up to your Mum and demand milk- and get pissed when she says 'no'... you're too big to be nursing (i.e. Ash)! (Heh, heh-- I didn't take my own advice with my own yearling, though) ;) Anyhow, such a great story you tell, Arroz. I love going back and looking at your "archives." You have such a wonderful collection of stories here. Teeny was foraging even back then... eating rocks and dirt, poor soul. You really helped keep her alive to the Yearling she is today. Your stories are just wonderful, as is your spirit.

Having no teeth at two months old would make a big difference at how long her time at the milk bar would be. And seeing that Tina doesn't deny her at all would suggest the problem is with what she is or isn't getting at the milk bar.

I wish Tiny would come and teach Teeny how to forage. Tina just doesn't have enough food to produce a good flow of milk.

Aunt being Tina's daughter makes sense. She was attempting to remove beans from Tiny's pouches in the same way Tina did. Learned behavior from Mom. I think Teeny is allowed to hold the nipple in mouth but not nurse whenever she wants. Like Tibbin. Tina and her adult daughter look very healthy. I'm still holding my breathe and crossing my fingers. Teeny's appearance, energy and delays are concerning but not surprising. I'm hoping she will find interest in Tiny when and if she does get energy, She's got the guy with best foraging skills in all of Hong Kong right there. A positive for this very precious little girl. 🌸

Teeny is so cute. I wonder if there is something more than low quality/quantity milk causing her stunted growth. I understand that Teeny is small for her age, but she also seems to have a little bit of a different physical appearance, facially speaking, to me. I know fat distribution, or her case lack thereof, can create part of that. But could some genetic/medical issues also create a different facial profile?

I was thinking tizzy too, Trina is fitting for me since thats my daughters name, and she was a very small child. Happy new years, !!!

1:31 she's looking right at the camera, totally aware that she's being watched. they're so much more intelligent than they get credit for, and seem to be fully aware by just a couple of weeks old. they deserve so much better than what humans do to them.

I had family members whose kids failed to thrive due to milk protein allergies. I wonder if that could have been the case with Teeny? She always seemed to prefer to forage rather than nurse, which I assumed was due to Tina not having enough milk. Maybe the milk made her feel badly.

She had such strength after birth. She's malnourished now just as her brother was but not as severe, yet. Tina steals their food if they get a morsel & she's hungry. Her brother would've passed if you hadn't helped him. I hope she makes it through the winter. She truly shouldn't have anymore but nature will take its course.

Beautiful family video. Lovely. Perhaps, if Tiny also was late developing teeth, that might explain his smaller stature when young? We know from research on rhesus that mums nurse female infants more than male infants (generally) due to the difference in the amount of protein and carb mixed in mum’s milk when nursing males and females. It does make it look as though the mums care more for the girls. We also know from research on rhesus that mums expend more energy when raising females. I wonder if the difference in Teeny’s energy level is in part due to rank. Lower ranking kids seem to stay closer to mums than higher ranking kids. Teeny looks a bit younger than her age but she certainly is no where near as thin as Kailey. Not does Tina look thin.

I like the name Trina many have mentioned for her oldest daughter. Teeny is so cute but there is definitely something that doesn’t appear right. Her eyes look like someone that has Graves Disease. She also doesn’t have much energy. I don’t agree with the poster that continues to say that Tina is starving her babies on purpose but being lowest on the rung and not always having access to the food some of the higher ranking ones doesn’t help with her milk supply and even worse if she has trouble producing milk. When she lifts up to get her to stop feeding it is my understanding that when a mother doesn’t have any milk it is painful to have a baby suckle.

I always believed starvation is what took Tibbin.

Tina is feeding her on demand which is good. Teenies color isn't very good, her ears aren't pink and she's definitely low energy. Precious little baby I hope she does okay. :')

Tina' health has never been good and it is amazing she can carry babies to term. Tiny was so little and would not have made it had it not been for his own drive to survive. As we know, Tibben didn't survive. I am glad to see that while Teeny is very small and has obvious developmental delays, she is at least trying to walk and climb. Tibben never showed the ability to do even that much. I don't know about the quality of Tina's milk but I don't think she is producing a lot of milk. Teeny never nurses for long, although she might off camera but it appears that milk runs out quite quickly. Not having teeth yet means that there isn't much if anything she can forage that will help her situation. She appears to be a little dehydrated or suffers from proptosis. Her eyes seem like they are bulging slightly. I don't think she looks much like Tiny when he was a baby but others may find that she does. I am grateful everyday that Tiny survived. When he was little I lived from one week to the next hoping he would still be alive when next you visited Monkey Hill.

This baby is severely lacking in vitamins minerals and calcium. And the reason it hasn't got its teeth yet. I would also Venture a guess that is probably dehydrated as well considering you can see its spine sticking out through its coat. Poor thing. She is a little angel.

These Monkeys are not fed tons of fatty foods like the Macaque's are at Angkor. This group is very highly Hierarchy driven and the lower ranking ones clearly have trouble obtaining enough food to barely survive.
