Awesome video. I will definitely put the Sephora setting spray on my list to try. My current long wear favorite is still the Essence 16hr long wear matte setting spray. It holds up in heat, humidity, sweat, and my dry, more mature skin never looks dry. I’d say it’s almost a satin finish instead of a true matte.

I agree, I think the Sephora one does look much better. Typically I forget to even use one. My time out and about is usually short so I don't have worries of it needing to last forever. The joys of getting older and I mean that in a good way. I like being home more now.

I only have a few things from the Sephora brand and I love it all. They make the perfect shade in foundation for me. Also their brand is even better when they do 30% off. I think they really improved their products over last few years. I always enjoy a good setting spray. I’ll have to check this out! I don’t mind when products have a natural scent. That’s fine. Some ingredients may have a scent but added perfumes isn’t necessary. Just come out w a body mist or something and leave it out of cosmetics.

Love this! I would love to see your thoughts on the elf one, the one in the green bottle, it’s called stay all night or something, against the CT one. I personally feel it’s better! Or even against the UD all nighter. I personally think it’s an excellent setting spray and definitely a dupe or affordable alternative.

I have that issue with the Milani setting spray. Tried it. Could still smell it 8 hours later. Best ever for my oily skin is Gerard Cosmetics Slay All Day. Keeps makeup in place for 10+ hours.

Thanks so much for the recommendation and warning I am so sensitive to heavy perfume scents I can’t imagine paying for that expensive setting spray and it making me have an allergy attack, I will try the Sephora one!

For years I purchased high end cosmetics. After many years I was at the cosmetics counter in a high end dept. store Purchasing a very small very expensive foundation. A light bulb went off and I told myself that there must be a less expensive alternative. From that day forward I’ve never purchased high end cosmetics. again. I’ve had some misses here or there with drug store brands but in the last ten years I feel things have greatly improved. I can honestly say that I’ve saved thousands of dollars by making the change.

Hi Zabrena thanks for the review I been using the Too Face "Makeup Insurance", and every time I used it like 5 minutes later it makes my face like a hard veil feelling effect and very dry powder looking, and this video made buy the Sephora one, and guess what i looooooove it🥰, it keeps my makeup in place, my face looks radiant, thanks again for the review......I also used the MAC prep+prime spray, and the sephora still wins over.....

I was thinking the other day of all the things I use that are scented, and it's nuts! Shampoo & conditioner, body wash, shaving oil, body lotion (I use unscented for my face), hair oil, hair gel, hair spray, lip balm, and all that is not counting makeup, which... even my mascara is scented. I know I have scented eyeshadow, lipstick, setting spray, deodorant. There's probably more I'm forgetting but I almost never wear perfume anymore. I'm already thoroughly scented lol. However I do use the CT setting spray. I have dry skin & so far this is the only one I've found that keeps everything in place and doesn't dry me out too much.

I completely agree with the putting scent in products unnecessarily I've never found a product with a scent I find pleasant, on a different subject why does wet cat food contain vegetables like "Turkey in gravy with peas" cats are obligate carnivores they evolved that way and cannot digest or get anything from vegetables, I do not but cat food I buy my cats raw meat and they love it their longevity is effected and they live past the average life expectancy. Keep unnecessary additives out of everything.

I was using the benefit super setter but found it didn’t hold my makeup in place my entire shift (10hr plus commute 11-12hr depending on traffic). It would let me down around my nose, chin and around my glasses. I do have dry-combination skin. I have just switched to the Charlotte Tilbury which I have been very happy with. My make up last through my shift into the evening when I remove my makeup. Nose, chin and around my glasses has stayed put. My skin feels good not tight or greasy- very happy with the Charlotte Tilbury one so far 👍.

So I have an opposite circumstance. I have been applying setting spray instead of powder, to set (the most dewy) of foundations on my VERY DRY skin. This is something fairly new for me. So no powder, using setting spray in full to set and try to keep the layers from sliding off my face, not just to change the finish.

Do you normally spray so much setting spray on your face? Am I doing it wrong? I usually only use 2 - 3 pumps for my whole face. I will definitely pick up the Sephora one. Thanks so much for this awesome dupe!

I have dry skin so it would have been nice to hear the ingredients on the sephora setting spray. I have an expensive setting spray that has alcohol in it and cannot use it unfortunately.

Looking at both sides at the end, the Sephora side looks more natural while the Tilbury looks like it’s been encased in plastic, hard and shiny, very unnatural.

The perfume in the CT one is not that heavy 😅 and I think you applied way too much!!

One very important thing to note is "alcohol". I wouldn't necessarily call this a dupe because the alcohol content is really going to determine how well a setting spray works. The Sephora has denatured alcohol and it is its SECOND ingredient so obviously it is going to last longer that the CT which has phenetyl alcohol listed as its LAST ingredient. So if you have sensitive skin or want to avoid alcohol because you have dry skin then you want to get the CT.

So if I put a lot of setting spray does it keep from the transfer - I hate touching work papers and getting foundation on them-

Omg I've never sprayed that much setting spray on my face I never really find that they work to great maybe that's why but I never want to soak my face cuz im someone with very dry skin and idk if this is why or I touch my face without realizing but I always feel no matter what I wear it's gets patchy after 5 hours or is drying or too moisturizing. I never win with or w/o a setting spray.

To me the Sephora side showed more of your freckles on your upper cheek just under the eye. I didn’t even notice you had freckles so to me that means your makeup moved on Sephora side
