Is this Thornfield Hall from Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre novel? Did Charlotte get inspired by the story of the Mad Woman in the Attic? Did she see the secret staircase? Come with me as we look around this wonderful old Yorkshire house and get a glimpse of what Charlotte would have seen when she came to visit 185 years ago.

--ABOUT ME--
Hello, I'm Kate-a huge fan of the Brontë Sisters for many years. Upon relocating to Yorkshire with my husband, I found myself irresistibly drawn to the village of Haworth, home of the Brontë Sisters and my obsession grew. It was during the challenging days of the Lockdown in 2020 that I decided to channel my passion into action. Disappointed by the lack of quality Brontë-themed goodies available, I embarked on a mission to create my own and my online shop was born.
Since then, I've immersed myself in the world of literature, attending Book Festivals and events across the UK. Inspired by my adventures and encouraged by the enthusiastic response from fellow Brontë enthusiasts on social media, I decided to share my experiences through KZfaq videos.

Oh yes I do think that this definitely could be the inspiration for Thornfield Hall. It is absolutely beautiful - and the gardens too!! I was so relaxed looking at it - and you have a calming voice. Thank you so much for this. I have always wanted to visit Bronte Country. I first read Jane Eyre at school and then just had to read Wuthering Heights. Thank you. See you next video 📚😊

Welcome and I am so pleased you enjoyed the video. I spent hours in the garden, long after everyone else had gone. It was beautiful and, strange as it sounds, I felt like I was being watched and any minute I would see a child peeping out from behind a bush. Not in a scary way either. I have so many ideas for videos so I hope you like them.

Thank you for this. It looks like the Thornfield in the Timothy Dalton version. My favorite . In the US, we tear down a house before its a 100 years old, if that. This is amazing !

That's a great place. I like that it's been left alone pretty much and isn't all renovated and modernized. I can believe that was the inspiration for Thornfield.

I had never heard the story of where Charlotte Bronte got the inspiration for Thornfield Hall and, in particular, the side story of "the crazy woman in the attic room," which I have always felt was an ingenious, Gothic touch to her book. Great video here.

Thornfield had battlements and a roof that could be walked on. If's a very central part of the story. This place has no battlements. Plus there is NO hard evidence CB ever went there, is there?
