After another delay, I decided to answer some questions (noob-style) that you may have about your Sondors MadMods. You are correct, I'm not qualified to answer these questions but since Sondors won't, the Noob must! Please let me know your thoughts!
I would much rather have just done a simple bike review for the record...
**UPDATE**
Three days after posting this video, Sondors decided to cancel my order. I guess they didn’t dig the video as much as you’s guys did! Sorry that I will be unable to provide a review of the MadMods 😢

I went around and around with Sondors in 2020 when I ordered an X-Fold. After many excuses and shipping delays, I cancelled the order and went with a NEZA F1. Called on a Tuesday and had my bike that Friday! Okay, so I was about 250 miles from their warehouse, but still. That was end of July 2020 before things got crazy in the shipping lanes. The MadMod looks cool, but I went with an Ariel Rider X-Class 48 v that I ordered June 9 and received on July 26. It lives up to the hype and while there are a few things on the 48 missing that are on the 52v, for the money, the bike is a definite bargain and comes with a HUGE FUN quotient.

To all the whiny people that cancelled their orders and couldn't wait2-4 months . Too bad so sad. Got my delivery date and will be grinning ear to ear soon. Couldn't stand listening to people on the Facebook groups not being understanding to the real world delays that were out of sondors hands. Check out the latest videos of the bikes. NO! It is not their fault. NO ONE, no one predicted the bike boom of CV19. My only transportation is a bicycle and my feet, all winter of 2020 and 2021 I am buying up parts to keep my bike running for 2021, it was impossible to get all the parts I needed. And just buying a bike became impossible also. I was finally able to buy a bike and bought two, one for parts....that's how bad it is out there. I have been cycling for 50 years, racing pro, commuting, touring, off road; it has never been this difficult to keep a bike on the road in 50 years!!!!

I appreciate this video...it confirms suspicion I felt during my ebike research/comparisons. I too, bought Ariel Rider x48...charger didn't work, Chloe, AR customer service, bam, sent new one. I've also bought the AR Flagship, Grizzly. Couldn't be happier. I recommend Ariel Rider daily. Thanks again for DATA, ENOOB.

@@2NDFLB-CLERK For the money, you get twice the bike with the grizzly for just a few 100 more... You're getting double the bike with a grizzly. The 52v needs a dual battery, All that power and one battery doesn't last long... imho

Yeah, this is the main reason I didn’t jump on the Metacycle they’re pre-selling. It looks like it will be awesome vehicle, but I just don’t see how they will make the October delivery date they promise. I’m betting it will be constantly delayed too, and 5k is too much to give for that kind of uncertainty. And I totally understand delays, especially now. I ordered the X52 from Ariel last November and just got it last month in July.

I bought a Sondors Fold 4 yrs ago, no problems, but as far as this madmods bike, I called it 4 months ago, i knew it would be a long long delayed delivery

I ordered a Rockstar In January. Took 6 months to be delivered The bike came very well packed. Damage free! Took only a few minutes to put the bars and front wheel on. The battery was at 88% so I put it on charge for an hour. First ride was awsome. Now i have over 1200 miles of trouble free use in the woods. Just adjusted the brakes and shift cable and added air to the front fork. So far this bike has passed everything we through at it. Hill climbing beast goes anywhere. Love taking this bike out and get tons of compliments. Never passed on the trails. Not once. I passes a group of roadies the other day. They did not like my bike. I said thats ok your girlfriend liked it yesterday!!! Hahaha Do not cancel your order. My friend did and he is riding some piece of crap. I say every time I pass him" You picked the wrong website chief" He has one on order again. This bike is king of the trails and the government workers here in DC area have the high dollar bikes. Some of them like it. Most are jealous as I make them eat dust regularly. The also yield to me weather ascending or descending they clear the way as they know Im not moving over unless your a girl. Then maybe. Hahaha. Good luck

I don’t know… a well respected reviewer pointed out the fork wasn’t good enough and SONDORS decided to be proactive and change it instead of just saying let’s ship the inferior product we have to take people’s money. They didn’t throw “the reviewer under the bus” they credited him with respecting his opinion enough to change the product and delay shipping to ship a better sorted out product. Throwing him under the bus would have been saying he’s wrong and discrediting his opinion. If they are lying the reviewer will surely make a stink if they ship the fork unchanged. So if they shipped it and the fork was crappy you’d have stayed quiet and been happy? Shipping a inferior fork and then shipping a replacement right out after is asking for a lawsuit…

They threw him under the bus because they used his review as an excuse to not deliver the bikes on time. A sondors rep told me that the only reason they changed the fork was because after Micah’s review, they were getting a lot of calls from people that were concerned the fork was going to suck. I think the whole fork story is a complete fabrication, a lie. It was just a way of trying to spin the fact that they hadn’t yet built the bikes into something positive. If sondors truly wanted to just give us a better bike, Micah also mentioned that it felt underpowered. Why didn’t they upgrade that as well? IMO, it’s too convenient for sondors to say, “sorry your product isn’t going to be ready on time, don’t be mad though because when it comes it’ll be better than it was before.” Micah is literally the only person in the world who will ever really know lol 😂 And yes you’re right, they didn’t really throw him under the bus. Sondors wasn’t upfront with that information about the “fork change” being a result of Micah’s review.

I like your videos and I love your honesty and appreciate your knowledge but I was wondering if you would check and test out the E cells Monarch series all-wheel-drive I bought one this year I have to admit it's a little goofy looking but I can't stop writing it and there hasn't been a day all summer that I put it down it's a little hard to getting on and off but everywhere you go you get attention and the unlimited power and speed is amazing I'm just curious to see what your opinion of that bike is thank you very much please keep making more videos

I know around jan-feb my bike dealer told us there was a shortage ,because the company which was in China could not get the source materals to build the forks.

My younger brother just got his. Same situation as you, multiple delays (almost 8 months). I helped him assemble it. This thing is a hog, heavy and has a small turning radius. Also clunky and scraped a bit of the side with a small nick because of its terrible maneuverability. Its too cold out to ride it now but just took it for a quick spin and its so so. Bad stuff out of the way, decent comfort, clean LCD screen; USB port charging; Not bad looks; good front light. Definitely not worth the jacked up price that they put it up as recently. We are considering selling it - it's too heavy and they took the 28mph claim down to 25mph (which it does). I purchased graffiti from Lyric Cycles which I'm going to get by the time spring time comes around. Overall 6/10.

I ordered an e bike from Hammer e-bikes. I told them I was ordering from them because I wanted it within a week bareing in mind it was a custom order built to my specs .I was told it would be with me by the following friday... on the monday I was updated on the build and recived a text on tuesday to say it would be delivered on the wednesday . why someone would wait a year for a bike is totaly beyond me . I highley recomend Hammer e bikes. A joy to deal with.

I ordered my dual motor/battery Grizzly for $2,550 (no shipping and also no sales tax) last November and received it in the first week in March. It's absolutely amazing and it's changed my life for the better in many ways. That said, later orders have suffered similar delays to Sondors, if not quite as bad as yours.

I was going to geta grizzly--but I bought a CSC 750 XP and added a 1000 watt front hub motor to mine.I ride it 4 or more times a week and it does change your life.I wanted more of a bike and not a moped--my bike looks low key--a 20 inch fatbike--looks like a big BMX bike--but I can do 34mph on a flat with the 1000 by itself.The AWD is simply fantastic. My total was 2300 for mine.I am an ex mountainbiker and like to pedal mine evrywhere so i am getting uber long range.I use the 1000 for steep hills and trails and use PAS 3 with the rear 750 bafang to get to those trails or to cruise.I did 60 miles in 3 days--the 1000s battery had 50% battery life and the 750 rears battery had 75% battery life--so I also easily have 80 plus mile range with the way i ride.The 1000 is also connected to just the throttle and battery (controller)--so there is ZERO govenor--I have all the power immediately.I have 2 seperate thumb throttles to control them seperate also and I would not change a thing now that I am use to it.Luckily the 1000s throttle has the power switch and a battery indicator on it so i do not have to guess.the 750 bafang is attached to the computer so i have all of its stats on the little computer it comes with.To be honest I very rarely go over 30 MPH--i cruise and trail ride--over 30 MPH on these things is very fast--as I am sure you are aware of.Mine is also stickered as a class 2--which is good because I like to ride in my local town and there are no bikepaths and I have t use the sidewalk.

That’s crazy I ordered my super 73 s2 in June 2021 they didn’t give me a date but I got a call from the shipping company 2 weeks later they brought it right to me next day, costumer service is amazing I thought I was going to have to wait a year. A lot of people said super 73 was sketchy but it was by far my best purchase ever. Sorry this is happening to you with this company I was actually looking forward to seeing this bike.

That sucks man. I do believe covid does cause some delays, but a year of delays is a really long time and the runaround is not something a trustworthy company does. I just got in on the Fiido x campaign on indiegogo, I am hoping to get the bike in the fall. Hopefully there won't be any delays that push that into winter as I'm in Chicago as well and winter cycling isn't that practical with this bike. I would not usually go the indiegogo route, but Fiido makes a lot of bikes and is already an established manufacturer so I'm hoping it all works out.

Great information vid sir...will scratch sonders off my list...i ordered a 7 day shipping on a electric scooter from China last year,2 months later it arrived, i plugged it in and it damn near blew up and fried the charger, welcome to the bad luck club...you will b ok..stay well..

They initially thought they could do it. But now they realize they couldnt put out anything quality for that price so they are scrambling. This huge price jump happened after my refund. Does anyone know what's happening with everyone who already paid before that for 1499 or 1799? I'm very interested in if they are asking for the difference or if your locked in at that price?

I just chatted with them on their chat feature on the website and they told me that the people that paid lower price points are locked in at that price and will not be responsible to pay the difference.

Oh man, got a Metacycle on pre-order and I was getting the same feeling. They are saying 3QT shipping but 3qt is now and I've seen no production pictures, just the prototype. Very disappointing, their Facebook account seems to respond fine to anyone asking how to buy but have not responded to my multiple questions about production progress. Not a conspiracy theorist but where there's smoke.... Thanks for the video!

Wow! I can't believe they cancelled your order cuz this video. you'd think their response would be to explain themselves and clear the air, I mean if anything this just makes them look guilty. Them acting like that really just confirms everything you have been saying. I had a bad feeling this bike was just being used to bank roll the metacycle, but after hearing about your experience, it's pretty clear my early suspicions were more real then I realized.

Sounds like they are trying to keep your money for the full 12 months so that you can not do a charge back. Be careful with this as it may takes up to 60 days for the banks to do a chargeback and charge backs can only be initiated within 12 months of payment. I had the same issue with monday motorbikes trying to delay the gateway booster order past the 12 month mark but I successfully did a charge back after waiting 10 months from order date. It was supposed to be delivered may 2020 and I am pretty sure they still have not delivered to the buyers. They did the same thing, sending out an email every 2 months to notify us about the delays.

Omg ! Same thing with me I ordered 2 LX mid drive model in April 2021 they just sent email end October! I Canceled order … sad paid in full I live in mich so I only have 6 months of Decent weather to ride . With all the unrest in China there is no guarantee that they will ever come or be able to get parts .

I ordered the metacycle in December. The website said 100 deposit but they billed my card $5000. I cancelled my order and I have been trying to get my money back ever since. Today they sent me an email asking if I would like to reinstate my order. I guess they think I might rather have the bike than nothing. They are wrong. I know how they treat customers if something fails guaranteed you are left in the cold. These people do not care about their customers at all. I'll sue to get my money back. Better than trying to sue if I get a lemon. Just telling you about my experience with this company to maybe save someone some unneeded headaches. I've seen some retro looking bikes that I really like so maybe it's good they held on to my money for so long so I'll have a deposit on something I will like better :-)

In the same situation, I even paid $700 for shipping. Now I asked for a refund because they said delivery will be late 2022. Told me I'll get a refund in 5-7 days. Been over half a month and no response now. Had to file a claim with my bank.

Yea but when you ordered it in October, it was $1500 ($1650 with shipping). None of those bikes you mentioned could be purchased at that price. It was the risk you took because of the price. Think of it like a Kickstarer campaign like they did their first bike. Now it goes for $2600 and expected for next February, which means when you get your bike and sell it and you will turn a profit of at least $1000. So no, you actually didn't give them free money. You are gonna come out ahead. Yeah, I ordered the Cafe and I'm disappointed in the shipping delays but I'm still keeping my pre order and will wait to ride it next summer. You at least have an Ariel to ride now... Also, there are real pictures and videos of the bike. You can find them online.

I bought a 2 Bolton bikes and waited a year , because I bought them just as they started shutting down everything last year. Received them around mid April. and being e bike I the bought bikes unseen and because it is a fat tire the bike is to tall to stand ,which I did not take into account how big the tires make it. so I have 2 e-bikes I can not ride. wish I had cancelled when they offered it. I thought of buying from them , but I guess they do not want criticism.

I'm # 65 it will be my ninth Sonders and I had a IGG bike ordered the day they put them up . I've had delays on other bikes but nothing like this . They did send me a $50 gift credit but $50 don't get you diddly in their accessory "store" . I have been very tempted to cancel and get the refund but I bought a RockStar and I didn't care for it and sold it for the new asking price That gave me a $200 profit . I think the Mad Mod will be the same . I will wait it out while Sonders collects interest on my full payment . This will be my last Sonders purchase .

I ordered my Madmod on January of this year for a May shipping date. Then change to July to August. Now mid to end of October. WTF? What I can't believe is that they are pre-selling more bikes for a February 2022 delivery! Friends laugh at my Hi-boy Titan Pro e-scooter that I bought and received in a week. But at least we can all ride with their Chinese no-name e-bikes since their e-bikes are also on hold from other e-bike makers.

There’s probably not much they could do about the motor. It’s already 750W; any higher power would push the bike into a moped or motorcycle class requiring a motorcycle license in most states.

I was thinking of getting a Sondors Fold X but I think I'll look at other bikes instead. Don't want to take the risk of not getting my bike. I'd rather support a company that is responsible and understands what customer service is. Sounds like they're taking people's money in advance in order to gather enough money to place a bulk order with the manufacturer in China. In other words, instead of investing their own money to place the order, they're using customers money. If it takes a year of pre-orders then oh well, poor first responders to the pre-orders.

I will have a little over two thousand dollars in a ebike I'm currently putting together but it's got two batteries, two hub motors, and every option you can have on a ebike. So I recommend building your own and you will have a custom ebike for less money.

I ordered the bike in early March 21. As you said delivery kept being delayed. Went recently from mid Aug.to suddenly end of Oct. They blamed everything on shipping problems and container shortages. I know there are some delays. In late May I also ordered a Himiway bike also shipped from China

These days there is absolutely no reason to preorder anything. There are 100s of different e bikes available to purchase today. 2 to 6 weeks guaranteed delivery. If you don’t like what’s available then wait until there is. In the meantime keep your money in your pocket.

Thats the same we all saw with earlier Tesla Models. Yes, this might be a big bummer for all who purchased it before the launch, but thats how it goes with totally new products. You ran into some serious issues and you have to fix those. I think that Sondors ran into a big cost trap. Everything on the bike has gotten more expensive and don't think the Chinese will give you the parts for the old prices, they have to correct the prices. I belive that Sondors has to get rid of a lot or pre-orders to then push up the prices to earn money with these models. We're in some really weird times now. This bike won't be scam, but they might be a big financial problem for the whole company.

Thanks for your honesty. All your points have merrit. Sondor's even raised their prices $200. I feel for you. Hopefully they get your bike soon. That's why I won't mess with a Sondor's bike.
