It's called an "embryo model," and scientists grew it using stem cells. Being able to grow their own embryo models will help researchers understand the earliest days of fetal development. Without the models, it's almost impossible to know anything about this process. Hopefully, they'll be able to learn more about birth defects, and miscarriages and perhaps improve IVF success rates. But model embryos may also raise all sorts of ethical concerns. Is it really a human embryo?
