Should you buy bolt ons, or should you get a different final drive? I kept saying 4.10 in the video, its a 4.08.

Thanks for the vid. Im currently researching swapping in 4.08 gears into my '20 Sport Z. Looking forward to getting it done.

Great video! Do you think this is a good mod for the straights or drag racing since you have to shift more often? Thanks!

Definitely seems to pull harder with the 4.08 in it!

My g37 rear wheel drive 5at 3.69 gear ratio goes 0-100 arround 5.2-5.4 sec depending on tires grip, weather... (ark grip,ams tp, z1 3" cai, admin tuned). By going from 3.69 to 4.08 how will it affect numbers? Would it be lesser than 5 sec...

After market parts only. Nismo 370z is 3.9 i believe
@BORNGEARHEAD Жыл бұрын
The Nissan parts catalog show 05-20 2.5 Frontier, manual trans, with 4.08 gears.

Can you do this to a G35?

Do you like this gear setup better for drifting or your original gear setup

Oh my god its so good now. There are a few courses where I wish I had a few more rpm though. Its all dependent on the tracks you hit, but most likely I'll guarantee you'll like it.

I put a 3.7 diif ratio on my g35 and its runing very fast

Hey what car did you get the 3.7 from? I have a g35 6sp and am looking for the upgrade not sure if the 370z or the g37 diff will give me the upgrade I’m looking for maybe you can tell me. Thanks

With the 4.08 what mph and rpm are you cruising at?

iirc off the top of my head I think I’m 3500 rpm at 75-80ish

is there a reason to do sometrhing like this to my 370z and if so witch one should i get

It improves acceleration. It depends on what your goals are and what you use your car for

Hows the feeling by pulling? Like feels lot more torque as well? And how much km/h you can do in second gear with your de z?

Do you need to tune or retune after changing gears?
@BESIMXCARS3 жыл бұрын
No you do not, at least not that I'm aware of
@ryanscanlan98752 жыл бұрын
No as nothing changes with the engine or power. The reason it's faster is because of increased mechanical wheel torque due to lower gearing.

Would have done this if you were turbo, would you recommend this gear swap for a turbo build
@rholt75512 жыл бұрын
Depends on what you’re using the car for in all honesty.

@@rholt7551 basically pretty much everything that you do with your car besides drifting. Lil street highway pulls, roll race, lil drag racing quarter and 8th at the track, few road courses a year. Don't care about MPG and not worry about the top speed ill lose

@@demigodq6083 4.08 is too much gear for the average driver. Definitely recommend if you do drag racing IMO and don’t mind higher revs at highway speeds.
@ryanscanlan98752 жыл бұрын
@@rholt7551 Its really not. The 3.5 gearing is too long especially with 6 gears available. 3.5 is only appropriate for high horsepower turbobuilds. 3.9 - 4.1 is perfect for NA. I almost never used 6th with 3.5 final drive.

Is this better dollar spent on acceleration vs if I spend the money on catback and HFC on a 370z? I don't want to spend a lot of money. Also do I need to tune the car after installing the high ratio diff? People say the rebmatch will be out of sync and it will need tune. Also how much is to calibrate the speedo? Also i know it goes higher rpm as usual but can't you just shift up and it lowers the rpm?
@mistictree5 ай бұрын
i have a catback on mine. it makes it sound nice but it isnt a noticeable change by itself, but the 4.08 gear would definitely change the way the car feels more than a catback would. you also dont need a tune with a different final drive. z1 makes a fully built diff that has the 4.08 gears and a limited slip differential that basically just bolts up to your car. a little expensive but it would make a crazy difference
