This reel is so amazing, it feels like an Aldebaran! The construction is solid af too! I'd say this is one of the best bang for your buck reels currently on the market.

That reel has just recently come to my attention, I am contemplating making my next rod a true BFS ultralight, I will need a reel for it and this one is in consideration. I love Mule fishing and his ul lures.

For me its the DOVIELLO HICC50. Its 60 dollars. Option for purchase with 2 spools. Carbon handle. Been reliable for over a year. Delivered from amazon. Second is the bearking Zeus. 65 dollars, prime shipping. Almost identical to DOVIELLO HICC50.

I've been thinking about this reel awfully hard. My only hold up is the paint work. It's a trivial thing,but a factor. Thanks for setting her up out on the water. That's exactly what I I wanted to see! Great video!

If you order a shimano slx bfs from Japan it’s under $150. Also a slx 70 dc under $160. All for new products but also like pin for a trusted brand. The color is my biggest knock on this reel but not a deal breaker.

Great video i watch a lot of your videos i have a question for you I was trying to find a bfs reel to use for throwing 1.0 crank baits or those small ones that shimano makes but all of the bfs reel are so fast do you know of any in the 6 range

@@jacobcooper9930 I haven’t used one yet that can cast as good as a UL spinning reel. So I’ll pass for now. I’ll give it a couple more years and see what availability then.

@@S2pidMedia sorry, I don’t believe that. It’s actually a common misconception that bait casters cast further than spinning reels. They have very compatible casting distances. And I have never seen a single video or in person a BFS outcasting an UL spinning. But hey, if you like your BFS, good for you! That’s all that matters!

@@Tightt88you don't have to. I spent for a good reel, and it casts farther than my spinning reel does. Distance doesn't necessarily matter to an extent, anyways. Bombing out long casts mean nothing if your tackle can't set the hook that far away. I do like my bfs, and I'm surprised, because I never thought anything would touch my ul spinning set up.

I’m looking to actually get this reel but I don’t know what rod to get for it and also if I should get the new comfort for the clicks stuff and what ever else it comes with. But I was wondering if you could tell me how well you could feel those 1/32 oz lures and if you could very very much feel it easily with that dobyns rod that was ment for 1/16 oz jigs. You said you could launch the 1/32 oz with the rod that wasn’t even ment for that light and I was just wondering how well you could feel the bait and the objects that it hits and also how well you could feel those super light nibles with it!

@@aaanglers they made a new one I guess that is the same rod in length and everything else besides the tip, it says the tip is a extra fast action and is solid carbon instead of a fast like the one you had. Should I get the one you have or the extra fast one… wanna catch bass and like maybe little bit of panfish but dought it

@Clouds.RL. An ultra light rated rod is better. Like we suggested, just do the kast king kestrel to start. Fast or extra fast will be fine

But would you do the 6’3” kadtking over the dobyns rod that you used? I am still debating, I just wanted to know what the difference between the dobyns light fast action and the dobyns extra fast full carbon tip light 🤣

I really want this reel and rod you have, but I don’t know if I should get the 690 or 691. How well could you feel that 1/32 oz jig with that rod and how far could you throw it. Could you really feel that light jig with that rod or not as much as an ultra light…

That’s the only thing you found wrong with this video. The line is #0.8 line and that’s not technically the line size. The line is .16mm and that’s not that small when it comes to BFS, second his bait wasn’t 1/32, the jighead was but not the bait. I’m sure the reel can cast it but he wasn’t. All this information is everywhere and easily accessible with your phone.
