Welcome back folks, as i said before second video looking at some new guitars from vintage. As the title suggests - I think if your looking for a NEW fender style guitar in the £300-£350 mark this could be the best bet.
The obvious competitor would be Squier Classic Vibe, which would beat it only if you want something visually even closer. Everything else these V6 Icons win in my opinion, and remember they do non-relic too!

I'm a Strat enthusiast and have played T-type and S- type Vintage in person. I have owned Fender mexican 60 year anniversary and 80' Fernandes strats and changed out pick guards and professional set-up...buy a Vintage and save your time, effort and money. They feel and sound fantastic for the price by a long shot...great guitars!!!

Sounds amazingly good. I'm shocked 😲 Does seem there are a lot of lower end Fenders that maybe don't offer much more on that than the logo. I think those pickups way ahead of the Wilkonson ceramics on the Encore Blasters, which were as cheap as 75 quid, I modded one for a wee pal early lockdown. Full size flipping block on that Vintege too! Whew. Thumbs up. Good call, nice video and playing. TC.

Honestly, after just doing the texmex and 57/62 vid i was expecting a noticeable difference playing this, but these WVC pickups really hold there own. Honestly i think any Alnico V and not hot pickup is a decent sound on a strat. Thanks for watching

Great vid, i have a v6 icon in black and it's just amazing ( i owned a 90's usa strat and this is easily comparable) .As for Dave Simpson, in on of his vids from a year or so ago he states he 'can't recommend the new ones (v6)' and when i asked why ,was just ignored , very mature.

I think if your someone buying a relic at this price point - your also someone whos likely to do your own relicing. Something done 10x easier on this then any poly guitar. But, you can get them non reliced too so everyone is happy haha. Thanks for watching dude

They sound and look great the reissued series, however I have had some major issues with reliability. First issue was I lost sound out of one of the pickups so ordered a new selector switch. That didn't cure the issue as it was actually a dry joint on the soldered connection to the pick up which I quickly repaired. Then it turned into a guitar that was unplayable as the neck got twisted with age. I bought a new neck from JHS for a very reasonable £100 but it was nothing like the original as they seem to have shifted manufacturers. I've gone from a guitar that was my go too instrument to something I loath. Mines a JMHV6 Reissued with the reverse headstock. I really got unlucky with mine.

I’ve got a vintage Thomas blug sig based on his ‘61, if it wasn’t for getting it from a trusted dealer who set it up before it was sent to me I might’ve thrown it out the window long ago, I wish vintage did an unofficial srv v6 strat, that would be sick

Yes a lot of them are just like that, a photo is a good way to describe it. But - more recently its ALOT better and in this case easily added too which I think I mentioned here (was a while ago haha) its never going to be at the level of a custom shop or smaller luthier build, but its 10 or more times cheaper so compromises have to be made

@@Paul-D Thank you for your reply. Much appreciated. I think perhaps I didn't ask the question properly, apologies. What I meant is, How would you dial a clean sound on a guitar Amp? So it sounds more clean when you play. I hope that's more understandable.
@Paul-D
@Paul-D Жыл бұрын
Ahh I see, I tend to do the typical set the amp just before edge of break up and then turn the guitar down a little. Sometimes if an amp has a dirty channel - I run that with the gain really low to add bit of character when digging in. Oh, and always a little reverb haha.

Poplar is too soft, alder would be better choice or ash, even pine. It sounded hot, was there a lot of overdrive added to this demo? It's a much better relic than the new vintage LP relics that look like a sticker... they sound good though and that's the main thing but they have the proper mahogany body.

These Vintage guitars are every bit as good as Fender or Gibson. People just want to defend the overpricing of Fender and especially Gibson . As John Martin said " It's just some wood with bits on " . They should be supported along with other companies also giving honest prices.
