This sounds interesting! I want to keep my car as stock as possible but with a bit more HP! Currently have basic bolt ons, downpipe, intake, tune, and would like to put upgraded HPP with this turbo upgrade.

I wish someone would make headers with the factory turbo position so I could get a better sound out of it, I know the doc turbo kit comes with one, some others need a specialized kit. I just want that equal-length sound 😫

Shoot the compressor through your intake valves and you may be going another route 😂 best to plan to replace it before failure occurs. If it happens though it happens 🤷

@boostedbm to be fair, I was hoping leaking seals or a low boost code. Not catastrophic failure. But if it happens, hoping the intercooler becomes a screen.... that would be big day, but a small tomorrow for my wallet lol

EGTs would be my only concern. Would be great with a TU+ flex setup. Really incredible power for the money.

Yeah unfortunately always an issue with this style of turbo, but should be still better than stock without pushing the limits

The ability to achieve the same power as an e40 car but on pump gas for $1400? That’s actually very intriguing for those like myself who have extremely limited Ethanol access, making e-mix tunes a luxury rather than daily option. It would be nice to hang with a Hellcat and be able to fill up at any Mobil, not just the one 45 mins away that seems to be the only place in my whole city with E85. As another commenter said, this plus a flex setup for those with limited access means roughly $2000 (plus tuning) and the capability to scale between an estimated 500-600 at the wheels. What was the top end of the stock turbo on Ethanol becomes the floor on pump gas. Pretty nifty. Also should keep the motor and transmission well within its power capabilities meaning it *should* be a safe and cost effective upgrade that doesn’t risk too much.

Hi bro Is it possible to change this compressor housing without having to remove the original exhaust manifold? That is, just release it from the v, change the oil and water lines and then just mount the casing? thanks for answering

I really had high hopes for this turbo. There has been zero feedback on it since its release, unfortunately. A few people claimed to have installed them but haven’t uttered a peep.

So if I have FBO (Dorch s2, high flow dp, mst, bm3 2.5, xhp) I could expect a ~15-20% increase by just putting it on? Or would I need a custom tune to achieve those gains?

@@hg1496 the last dyno run on e67 blend, I made 670rwhp and 565 torque to make the trans happy. Mods are AEM meth injection, Visconti lpfp, Visconti FF, reflex, pi with 1050cc injectors, open DP, full exhaust, Daw ultra flow r turbo, tuned by Botti.

The thing is, the next stage above this is a significant amount of money. You’ll need a more expensive stage 3 turbo, hpfp, lpfp,custom tune and upgrade transmission. I think this is the final frontier for many, including myself.

yo kern, i’m on vargas gc. I realized you said stage 2 turbos raise the power band. I’m stage 1 turbo shifting at 7k rpm on xhp stage 3. That seems too high considering what you said so what would be best rpm to shift at for no loss of power

it depends on how hard you're pushing it. The best way to confirm the powerband is to get on a dyno.

@@kern417 My goals are to be Street drivable and be under 650HP honestly. I don't want to build the transmission and I don't want to do top mount. My goals are: E50, CSF Cooling package, visconti flex fuel, BM3, Air intake, already have a full catback exhaust and have a catted Active Autowerks downpipe. Maybe a charge pipe and manifold and I'm done. I ain't trying to be fastest guy on the road

Your first step should be pick a tuner and then work with them to build your car around your goals and their preferred tuning platform

@@kevinjacoyange6609I’ve received the part but not looking at fitting until April due to lack of budget. The supplier here in the UK (Osprey Performance) have said that it will work with the OTS maps, but have not heard what dyno numbers it will produce

So on a gen2 b58, I could run a reliable 550whp-600whp with just the basic catted dp, full exhaust, and a BM3 custom tune (pump gas) with the addition of this turbo? Dreams DO come true Lol

Usually when discussing performance mods people talk wheel since that’s what is measurable. Trying to take a wheel figure and compute crank power is a black art that is rarely produces a correct result. So it’s easier to deal in a measurable quantity with a lot less room for error.

It’ll work, and should run the same boost as a stock turbo at a lower rpm. The EWG controls boost levels either way so if it over boosts the car will close throttle/open the EWG. However that tune while functional will be absolutely far from ideal. This upgrade likely shifts the power band upward and you’d like a tune to make sure you’re optimally feeding the turbo when revving out. Also when spending around two thousand to set it up, why get cheap at that point and risk the safety or leave more power on the table by not ponying up a few hundred extra bucks for the tune?
