Tech layoffs continue, and what does it tell us about the market?
Seniority levels can be confusing. In big tech, 'senior' typically refers to someone with 5+ years of experience (YOE), but at smaller companies, it could be as low as 2+ YOE. Additionally, many companies don't offer dedicated mid-level roles, creating a gap between junior and senior positions.
