First time playing poker at WinStar, and this guy is extremely fast with dealing the cards.

Does pitching speed really matter when the drunk dudes are going to take 10 seconds pre-flop to decide to fold their 2-7 off suit 🤣

I think you're kidding. But the answer is No. Keeping the action moving is way more important. Avoiding misdeals and premature burn-and-turn's too. Dealers who are slow mechanically, but avoid mistakes and keep the action moving get 22 hands per 30 minutes.

So apparently I offended the entire world of professional poker dealers who criticize me for asking a simple question in a video where I’m just sitting at a poker table just playing the game. I never knew people took their dealing skills so seriously. Now I have to look over my shoulder constantly. Thinking someone will jump me all because I thought that one dealer at that one casino was super fast at dealing cards

The one thing about the internet is that people are so emotional/immature, they would rather criticize or belittle a post like this as opposed to just giving a decent answer. I would have asked the same question myself. I'm Still waiting for those people who said they can do it faster to post those videos... Lol!

Only suckers give tips. Dun be one. Take the money and reinvest or reward your family. The dealers dun tip you back when you lose or give you a bad beat, remember that.

@@cathdan If that is your belief then, players would be dealing to each other. No one would learn this trade for min. wage. If every player was a stiff, like you are, there would be no poker industry that had dealers. It is stiff bastards like you that inspire dealers to become thiefs.

I used to time dealers when there was downtime at my poker room. I challenge anyone out there to beat the time of 17 seconds. Mini wash, shuffle, and pitch out 10 handed omaha. Timer starts when the dealer starts the mini wash and ends when the final card is pitched to the 10th seat and it only counts if all cards have been delivered to the correct stacks. If you can do this under 40 seconds most casinos will be fine with your speed.

I was at a table once and this happened It was a little bit off putting I was relaxed but then it was like pressure all the sudden from the constant speed dealing

Hes very well trained in how to do card placement and control . Why is the cut card in front a this hands never fully come off before placing on cut card.

someone needs to tell them to keep the cut card to the side and do a one handed cut. im telling the dealer to reshuffle everytime if they do it like this

That is called a "scissor pitch". where the cards are pitched between the index and middle finger. You were not allowed to pitch cards is this way before the advent of the auto-shuffler. The middle finger could get to any card in the deck without detection.

Dealing fast makes no difference. If 1 player tanks for 30 seconds then it makes no difference if you can teleport the cards instantly to every player

What are you talking about? You should add up all the time wasted at the WSOP when there's a slow dealer. It totally makes a significant difference. It's absolutely important for the dealer to go fast.

@@Wukles You guys are talking about different things. OP is saying there are things outside the dealer's control that affect hands per hour more than dealing speed. Wukles is saying dealing speed is one factor. The dealer can't control tanking. But the dealer can tell the players when it's their turns. Way more time is lost because the dealer doesn't keep the game moving than is lost because the dealer is slow.
