One thing I love about the class 323’s that they have a really cool motor sound and that they are electric

I came across this series of videos by accident and found them all very entertaining and informative about the joys and perils of rail travel in the UK. Professionally presented in a lively format and all enjoyable journeys. Incidentally, this hairy train was heading to my home town and I have used it many times in the past travelling up to Manchester.

I use these trains a lot. Wouldn't say they are my favourite but I'm glad they had that revamp where they changed the seats and livery. Great video

Many thanks for another enjoyable Video Georgia, the class 323s are amongst my most favourite electric units because of their quick acceleration from rest, it will be interesting to see when the other units arrive in the North West from the West Midlands later this year and whether these units will be put into service still bearing WMT livery albeit debranded.

i love the 323 they are my 2nd favorite train i have been on it twice now in 2019/2018 and i love the acceleration and deceleration.

When I used to use 323s, some 20+ years ago, always at least one 3-pin power socket per carriage, typically under seats, had to know where to look. Was for the cleaners. The windows are a plus because as long as the things aren't stopped/broken down, you can always get decent ventilation even in Summer heat. Unlike the awful Cambrian coast diesels. Never noticed hairyness, just down to the most recent upholstery type or absence of de-fluffing perhaps ? And it's the noises that win most people over with these Hunslet, Yorkshire tech trains. I love the class 323s used to travel on them frequently between Wolverhampton and Birmingham before they were replaced by class 350s. Love their acceleration and deceleration noises. I noticed you had a card ticket, I get paper ones now from my ticket office. Great review of the Northern class 323s.

Did you know it is so rare to see a 323223 at the moment? I have been looking everywhere for one but I have never seen one! I met this other train fan and he told me that if you see a 323223 your meant very lucky! I have not seen a class 323223 on the tracks before! 😢

Brilliant vid G. The 323s can bring some good tongue twisters. Especially, when you've got a load of 2s and 3s in it. You must've had a hair-awesome time. Certainly a hairy train from me.

Whilst worked with DB Schenker I recall learning this route for the rail head treatment train. I recall being told that several prominent football players had homes in the Cheadle Hulme to Stoke area.

To be fair you get the hairy ones because when I went on a 323 on last Friday it wasn't that hairy. Mine seemed to go really fast though which was a surprise. I enjoyed my 323 Northern experience. Great video G.

Another great video and I love it when you do familiar routes :) You need to get a Rode GO wireless mic system G ...it will work perfectly with your camera and although your sound is good the Rode system would be much more clear...and you don't need to shout over background noise :)

Well this was a hair raising video. But that is the problem with peak times on Northern, in the morning train leaves Stoke-on-Trent empty but at Congleton, it fills up and on the return from Manchester Piccadilly, it empties at Congleton and it doesn't help that CrossCountry Trains have withdrawn the Congleton stop during the pandemic, I travelled on on that line myself during peak times and can get busy! Lovely video on the Class 323s they are wonderful EMUs ind... :p

I did sStockport to Poynton on a 323 the other week and back again and was hairy aswell as the information boards telling the wrong time and being a station out this is Poynton when it was actually Bramhall and all stations however that said it was actually early by 8 minutes

i really want a ride on a 323 seriously i want a ride on a 323 the more ive seen 323s in thease vlogs and simons vlogs the more i want a ride shame they dont run in the preston area routes as there routes are 331s and 319s but maby in the future but my only ride on a 323 was way back in 2007 from Manchester picc to Stockport anyway brilliant vlog as always
