Very nice watch , really captures the vintage feel with a great colour and the fonts are perfect. The Proxima logo is very subtle. The big dial makes the watch look bigger than it is and the 47mm lug to lug makes it comfortable. Great clarity too. Excellent review as ever Simon. 👍👍

They've caught the look of a vintage style chrono with the central "snail" type tachymeter(once common on many brands) very well for a reasonable price. I'd be interested to know what Proxima have done with the movement. There's nothing wrong with it but the price of the watches tells me these movements are not built to the highest standard. That said I've had no problem with the ones I've bought and I actually shelled out for a SU WaterMel0n. There must be a huge number of watches out there using the ST 1901/2 since the 1963 first became popular and there isn't a mass of horror stories which bodes well. I don't beat up any of mine but I do enjoy them when I wear them. If something goes wrong it's easy enough to replace. I'm with you that Proxima are on the rise. Good quality and very good actual homages rather than the copy and paste jobs churned out by other Ali brands. Went on a bit there. Sorry bud!! 😊😊

I’m not huge into vintage styling but this one is the business as you would say. I’m assuming the PX1690-2A will be in your three watch collection. I’ve watched your video on that’s watch about half a dozen times because it’s being offered for a great price right now, and I’m seriously considering getting it.

I meant to say would be nice to have a hacking variant, especially when you consider they’re able to put a swan neck on it to easily adjust the accuracy 🤞someone comes up with something mate 👍👍

Hmm unlike most people I'm not impressed with this movement. It was a Venus which when the Swiss sold off the machinery to China was obsolete. It's fragile, does not hack. The beat rate is very low. I've nothing against China movements-the pt5000 is my favourite movment at the moment but this movment I would not touch..

I’m surprised mate as if it’s not Quartz or Mechaquartz you’ll get nothing else, that I know of, do tell what is better out there??
