This game is based upon the 2005 Stephen Spielberg movie The War of the Worlds, Starring Tom Cruise. This film is based upon the Novel by H.G Wells and I have to say this is probably the best we're ever going to get in terms of a game adaption of the film. Today we take a look at the early gameplay footage.

I think I had the same concern about map size that I expressed on Voids channel a few weeks back. I know it is not really a story line but it is confined to a two week time span per the novel if I am correct. If the game is a survival game then yes 4km² is a must, but a two week time span really is going to make construction of a base, whatever that may entail, a needless time burn when you only have two weeks per session. When I think of survival I think long term, home base to store your loot, maybe Raff is thinking more along the lines of just staying alive for two weeks. So how about three different game modes? One for the two week true H.G. Wells experience with the Martians catching COVID and dying at the end. The second being for hardcore survivalist with no end game but if they find your base you lose it all but respawn and continue. Maybe a third with Hardcore Survival Mode you die before the two weeks and its end game.

I am so hyped for this game it just keeps getting better and better and its not even out yet. Most survival horror games don't seem to put much in to the survival part in games but War of the Worlds does and that is great. And some of the game play and game mechanics are new good ideas to the gaming world and way better than Gray Skies and Darker Skies that feels like it was meant to be a different games and very unfinished as well.

Even doubling is too small. 8x8km is about right as a minimum for a game with travel.

Interesting idea but I have strong doubts the game can deliver the shock value from the movie without repeating things that happened also in the movie. The aliens and tripods seem to do the same as what we saw in the movie so nothing new. Terrifying to try and survive in that situation yes but the material is not fresh

I wonder if Rath will ad AI to the aliens themselves that if you kill one or two of them the others will get scared of you and try to run away (presumably back to the saftey of their Tripod (cowards))

Rafs ssd dying was a very unfortunate setback but the new content looks awesome and continues to add to the horror factor. Also the background of the video was destroying my eyes :p

im really excited for the game when it comes out, im also very nervous cause im running a really bad computer rn. i hope in options you could lower quility of things or even have some to turn off like, grass or maybe just shadows to. don't get me wrong the game looks amazing but that can bring proformance issues and means people won't buy it as much cause of a bad pc. options like that may help, also an idea! what if the military had a very low chance to recruit you? and you could have a choice to accept it. if you did they'd give you a gun and ammo, downside is if a military ai saw you run away from battle they would consider you a traitor so now you have to hide from military, tripod, and possibly raiders

You will, Raf basically said as long as you have a somewhat average pc from the last 10-15 years you should be able to run it, even on low settings

@santaID would be nice, but also kinda pointless, the game is suppose to give off a horror aspect while being a survival game, adding a military base to, yk loot, would kinda take away from that

Love the video but the flashing in the background is brutal, my eyes are struggling to watch it. I can only imagine this is worse for anyone with epilepsy.

Do we know what API will be used? Also will this development be weighted in favour of Nvidia or Radeon? Hang on, all the Nvidia cards would have melted by then anyway. Scratch that question. Haha
