My point is not to discourage anyone.. but an advise to give a thought on your strength and weaknesses... If one is feeling from deep of their gut that they are capable and have high drive then one should definitely give this prep another try...

I am glad that you spoke the truth despite running your mentorship. Even the best and ethical ones running courses keep pushing aspirants for one more attempt. Unfortunately, I wasted 5 years in this madness. And, whatever knowledge i gained has no use of what I am doing now, Software Engineering. I wish someone had told to end this madness long back. I had to restart life at 29. And, I am still compensating lost time with extra effort to kill stereotypes at workplace. Letting it go is a skill. Good luck.

Exactly. Society has given too much importance to "Never give up" idea. This preparation is genocidal beyond a certain point. Opportunity cost is disastrous here. Atleast sir is honest enough to save student's life instead of looking to glamorise the struggles and drawbacks of this preparation. The syllabus of UPSC gives aspirants no skill to find himself a job in market. Not even a simple skill of MS Excel.

sir me 2021 se prepration kar rha hun 2022 me mera prelims 0.5 number se reh gya tha or 2023 me GS me 85 marks the par 1 number se csat me reh gya or is bar alg alg answer key se mere 85-90 tak ban rhe obc category.last ke dec 2023 se may 2024 tak maine haryana civil service ka main bhi likha par qualify nahi kar paya sar kya mujhe ye journey continue karni chahiye ya chod ke private job karni chahiye . Me bahut confused hun sir pls suggest me 😢😢

Hello sir. I am a english literature post graduate.26 yrs old Gave upsc twice Did not clear prelims both the times. Gave cat got a good college for mba with scholarship...but could not join it due to health emergency at end moment. Thought of appearing in state services and i am preparing for that. Unable to focus since few days. Fear of failure haunts me again. Thinking of going for an mba next year if i dont clear pcs. Do you think i am thinking in the right direction? My parents want me to do B.ed and teach in schools and get married but i feel if i am giving my time to a two year degree it should never be something like B.ed which has so less chances of growth and opportunities. Kindly guide.

80 marks ke aaspaas jitne bhi log Hain Sab Ko Yahi lag raha hai ki unke marks jitne Aaye Hain utani hi cut off ja sakti hai Vastav Mein yah Koi galat baat nahin hai sabhi ko apni mehnat Safal hone ki Asha rahti hai aur hope hone bhi chahie. Sir I’m 24 now I had given my 3rd attempt this time and getting near to 80 and 1st time I’m clearing csat paper this time. In my last two attempts I got good marks in gs but failed in csat by margin. Recently I’m selected as PC in My state and went for training but there I’m not getting time to continue my preparation sir so I dicided to resign and I resigned 2 months back. Now I’m in full confusion sir what to do so many self doubts are running in my mind sir my parents are farmers they literally don’t about this exam and how it goes. No one is there sir to give any guidance from last 2 yrs after my ug I’m preparing myself sir without any coaching. Now what to do sir ?

Sir, maine apna coaching open kiya hua hai jisme monthly 20k-30k earn kar rha hu....last year maine apna pehla attempt diya tha with 6 months preparation, sir is saal mai job bhi kar raha tha aur apna coaching mein bhi padha raha tha, but last ke 6 months se job hat gayi thi toh sirf coaching se hi earing ho rahi thi aur apni upsc ki preparation pr focus tha but is baar gs mein 55 aur csat mein 78 aa rahe hai ..toh kya mai next attempt du ??

Always wanted to do upsc but I was damn sure that I ain't wasting my prime years (22 to 28) in such uncertainty..So after passing out of engineering college in 2018..prepared for engg exams .got selected as senior section engineer in north east frontier railway in 2019 at 24...enjoyed for 4 years...Partied ,dated girls and all those pleasures that life had to offer....now finally gave my first attempt at 28..getting 76..wont clear this time ..but will give two more attempts without having to worry for anything as I already have a high paying job....

RC mera 27/27 sahi h math glt h. Total 51 Q kiya jisme 32 sahi ho rhe h. Hona chahiye tha 33 , ek question sahi hua to mera pre nikl zyega. 1q upsc droped bhi kr sakta h. Or 1-2 Q sahi bhi ho sakte hai. Mains ki taiyari kro bus or hope rakho , ho zyega . Topper border wale bhi hote h. Pre se nikle 🤣🤣

Sir getting 105+ in CSAT and 90 in GS by different keys excluding 3-4 question of grey area. GS Marks can vary between 90 -98. Any chance of clearing GS cut off. (OBC)

Start prep for mains.. this year chances are less.. but you have potential to clear next Yr.. so prepare as if you're giving this year mains..

*Just remember that once you leave the preparation cycle* and get a private job, start earning money etc, it's extremely tough to come back. • If you think you've given all you had with 100% honesty and were Prelims + Mains ready and yet you failed at least twice ... then you can leave UPSC. *Failing without complete preperation isn't a proper attempt btw.* • If you still think you can improve a lot and your "why UPSC?" answer is very clear then kindly continue with preparation. You'll earn money in the private job but that doesn't mean you'll be happy if you've UPSC in the back of your mind. And yes, your starting salary will be extremely low for 3-4 years for most people out here. • If you've decided to take a job, make sure you have enough time to prepare without compromising your health or sleep. Most jobs won't offer you that tbh. So think before you jumpship. • If you have any financial issues then *KINDLY GET A JOB FIRST.* • If you want to continue with UPSC. Be 100% ready with Pre+mains.

Sir, i am working as postal assistant for 10 years now. Age 32 belongs to OBC. I have 7 years and 3 years kids I have given 6 attempts till now in 2015, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2023 and 2024... All with self preparation as i as in job and could NOT go outside by taking long leave. Now in this attempt i am getting 82 to 84 marks in Prelims (OBC).. Now considering my age of 32 years and past failures (not a single mains), what would be you advice please?

Sahi h. Inka hi chart h yah, sabki situation alag alg hoti hai. Mujhy upsc chahe last m nikle ya 2nd m chahiye to chahiye. Ab iske liye kuch bhi krna pde. M btata hu. Mwre 1st attempt M 10 marks aaye the. 2nd m 97 or is war 89 aa rhe h. 60 number wali katha. Bakwas🎉
