DearDays could have been one of the best ways to onboard new non vanguard players into the [hysical card game, but the high price tag only ensures it will appeal to fans of vanguard. And new players would be the perfect demographic since they havent played the older formats so what is stale for people who played regularily is fresh for them. I like the game, i like how it is comeplete, i like how easy it is to get stuff, i wouldnt want the game to be free to play like master duel but these prices have to drop.

I picked up the game last month along with some of the DLCs and I didn't regret it. It's super easy to buuld new decks, you could build a new one with max rarity cards a day once you get going and that is pretty fun. Tbf if I had to buy the game with my european prices (60 dollars for everything so 180 in total) I wouldn't have done that at all but Mexico is a cool country for more reasons than nachos. Overall great experience and looking forward to crush the ladder with DE Gripho

Think about it this way. 65 bucks for 3 sets and a deck set. Vs essentially the same price for one box set for irl. Remember u can buy as many packs in game for that set. You are till getting that ring feeling. U get irl. If u don’t have locals u have online play. Base ga,e has like what 6 sets and it’s 70 bucks. Idk. This is American pricing. I do wish it was cheaper but it is what it is right. Buy it or don’t. They will keep updating the game which means I have no reaso. To buy irl cards

It's the only way I play the game now. No toxic shop (mine was great, just using this as an example) environment, or driving to a shop. I'm able to learn a deck at my pace, and dlc coming out means I just have to grind for points for a set rather than grind for dollars at actual work.

$70 isn't really cutting it for me. And it baffles me on how there are people that defend this 70 buck price tag. Like wtf??? It's no wonder why vanguard does so poorly in the west. I haven't played the TCG since G era and all my friends stopped playing because they hate overdress so all my cards just collect dust now. And then i find out we got a official vanguard game and to get the full experience i gotta pay $70+$70 for DLC. Nah screw that.

I can understand DLC if you wanna play as certain characters, but why the hell do I have to buy DLC just to get access to the packs? That's just incredibly stupid and greedy.

Dear Days is too expensive for what it is in my honest opinion, it's convenient if you don't have a locals around your area or if the TCG just costs too much overall that it becomes more worth while to just purchase the Dear Days DLC. Either way, I think the base game is decent but overpriced and Bushi need to do more with the game so it doesn't become a wasted potential.

@lyrianhwang2641
@lyrianhwang2641 11 ай бұрын
As much as DD being expensive, logically it's actually worth it. Yes it's a $70+ base game with $40-$70 dlcs, but here's why I think its worth it 1. You don't really need to have a physical opponent. Meaning if you're busy to go to your locals (or you're out of town), you could just hop on to DD for a few quick games. 2. Although the game's more expensive, but compared to the physical game it's much cheaper (mostly due to the pricing on secondary market, & PRs). A lot of cards that you can't get irl, you have it in DD's dlc. 3. You can basically play every single standard deck for the price of one, as compared to owning decks irl. I only own 3 decks irl (all 3 decks are watered down versions cuz there are certain cards that I couldn't get cuz of the prices in the market). But in DD I have around 20+ decks that are in full power, includes every nation, which I can cycle through. 4. Yes DD's update is slower than the physical meta, but that means you'll know what decks will run rampant in DD's when the update drops & know how to counter them (if you're active rank matchup players).

Why? because in Malaysia are are pricing around RM150+ and also lets say you want to play waifu deck and go for lyrical monasterio clan. Then this whole game are kind of worth more than the irl deck you can own. Another reason is, in irl you buy the deck you can play with it but this game require you to spend your time to grind the in game currency to buy the "pack" and pray to rng god to give you all the card you need to build the deck

Although I won’t lie, I was on the side that believes the prices are ridiculous, but I understand that the devs need funding to support the game(still sucks though). And yeah, the wait for the addition of the newer booster sets/trial decks is a bit of a pain, but not the end of the imo All n all, the game’s *kinda* worth it (if they periodically cut the prices, I’d think it’d be worth it, but that’s just me tho)

Dear Days when compared to the TCG seems like it's worth it but it's on a place whose market sees it differently. Furyu seems to forget that people on these platforms are mostly gamers and when compared to other games you can play, it's just not worth the price to me. This is even before the fact that you need to buy the game 3 times in order to have access to all the essential parts of the game. It basically wants to be a first party AAA game in pricing but the content while good, is nowhere near the level of bigger titles

I will be toadally honest, I picked up this game in general because my friends on discord got me into it with the Zero release on day 1 and played all the way into the end of the servers. While I do have a love for the game as evidenced by the Harri profile picture I wouldn't really spend $70 on a card game simulator when the beauty I found on the game was being able to play with friends at all times. Not only can you not do that because it is a console game (unless you own a switch) but for that same pricing you could buy any of the other great games that share the same price. I feel that while it is a great way of officially playing Vanguard it is still nowhere close to what I expected, specially for that price point.

After saving up, i'm finally biting the bullet and buying this game. Hahaha will you make a Vanguard Dear Days deck tier list or there's already one?

I genuinely don't know how good a game would have to be for me to spend 90 dollars on. I didn't spend 90 bucks on the full Naruto Storm bundle - and probably wouldn't justify it. And one single game, that still needs a dlc of 80+ dollars, is a no-go from me man

Dear days is far too expensive. I get what they were going for with everything being a one time purchase, but the way it’s laid out is a complete mess. Would it really kill them to reorder it and make the title more clear. Stuff like “Cardfight!! Vanguard DD: Additional Card Pass” being placed below a random character skin and an item included in the pass itself is attrocious. They should just abbreviate the games name to CVDD and call the additional card sets expansion followed by their number, and group them in with the season passes. I only want to buy the cards but I hate that I have to read each individual item to make sure I know what it is. Also after almost a full year the game has yet do drop below $60 even during sales. Sadly I don’t think I have any other choice other than buying it considering the closest local is 2 hours away.

Price and content aside, I was actually wondering if you were going to address player count and matchmaking time. I wanted a way to play Vanguard online similar to MD, but I was hesitant to get into DD because I don't want to be spending so much money and then have trouble finding online matchmaking if the player count is too low. I don't know if I want to sit 20+ minutes waiting for a match.

I feel like this is almost its own can of worms, and it’s all rooted in the fact that they never made any actual incentive to play ranked in the first place

Before I watch the vid imma give my take on it. If you’re a vg player who is really looking for that online vg experience and is willing to fork over the cash to play it. But I wouldn’t recommend it to the average consumer

I take a marginal utility approach to these kind of outlays. A song on Itunes costs 99p in my country, so in my mind, if I play it 100 times or more, it has paid for itself. I enjoy Vanguard and if this game costs me £80.00, if I play it on at least 81 occasions, I would justify the initial cost. It's a weird, convoluted mindset but I think it works for me!

Dear days could have been this thing that helped other gamers get into the game. Just wish they employed the master duel strat where you don't have to spend upfront but so subsequently. Which makes it better buy so people can try out vanguard. Then the money sink it's like I could buy a fully competitive deck for that price and go locals. So price bad wish it was more like master duel.

The prices of the game varying country to country wtf is that idea. The constant hey buy dlc punk. The rank system means nothing because you just play. Like the game doesn't give you a reason to grind or do anything like it's there play a couple of games don't come back until you feel guilty

It's so easy. Drop them to reasonable price. Release them on multiple consoles. Add cross-play. Players are gonna come around in droves. It might've helped VGZ but no. They went full greedy route. Now, VGZ is dead, no one's buying the games.

Not sure if anybody is going to see this comment, but here are my thoughts on dear days. 1. I do think the game is good. For what the base game offers, I think it’s great. Not many veterans have played vanguard as a campaign mode ever. Most people wouldn’t even go as far to get the 3ds games etc since they were coded in Japanese. To sit down and have a unique experience from the standard PVP is certainly enjoyable. The fact that dear days was coded to be English, have a unique campaign mode that ties in with the anime of sorts, you have an absolute banger of a game. 2. However, while the base game itself is polished and furnished with great content, it is certainly not worth the ridiculous price tag on it. In a vacuum, yes, the game serves as an cheaper alternative to those who don’t want to have the hassle of forking out (a lot) and gathering the cards to build a deck. On top of that, it solves the issue of your quiet locals and/or busy schedule to head to a shop. Another reason is to expose complete newcomers to the world of vanguard. That being said, When compared eye to eye against other great card game simulators on steam, now it suddenly doesn’t feel like it’s worth it. Other card simulators are not only priced cheaper, but have notably better reviews, features etc that would trump that of DD. You aren’t also competing just with card simulators, you are also compared with opportunity cost of gamer potentially using that money to get another noteworthy RRR titles. 3. Which brings me to my next point. The game itself doesn’t look very sustainable. With an average of 80 players in any given 24 hour window, that is worse that the horrendously reviewed Artifact by Valve, which commands 110+ in a 24 hour window. Post story, what do I do now? Play rank? Fat hope. If you dont get the DLC, you aren’t going to win anything. And with the low player count, it wouldn’t surprise me if you matchmaker with someone either better or worse than your current rank. In Differentfight’s chronojet video, he matchmaked a beginner 1 class fighter with a youthberk trial deck. That isn’t how online PVP experience is supposed to be like. The solution is to get the dlc then? Well, if you are super passionate about spending 200+ on DLCs for digital cards on a game that doesn’t look on track to be sustainable, then ye go ahead. Or more so likely, most base game owners people won’t even buy the dlc at all because it is too damn overpriced and are smart enough not to waste their time on rank. 4. Contuining on the DLCs,Even considering post game single player, it does get repetitive, boring after awhile. Let me put 2 cases here. Assuming you don’t have the dlc, chances are you are single player minded and are smart enough not to play rank often. Your cpu fights would get really really boring after. You would just ignore the game all over, contributing to the already low player count. And now assuming you have the dlc and don’t feel like ranking, your decks would be so optimized that not even most of the “free” cpus are capable of putting any form of fight on you. Would that still be fun? 5. What are the alternatives to DD then? That’s easy, tabletop sim, untap, and the best one, cardfight area. Tabletop sim requires you to pay on steam. If you don’t have much purpose in tabletop, suggest you save the money for DD. Untap and Cardfight area fulfills the same role, provide new and concurrent cards while updating the banlist etc. Best of all, it’s free! If you want to play the updated cards, have a feel of them, these are the way to go rather than splashing out on the dlc which are 4-5 critical sets behind. Since DD’s ranking system for the most part is rendered useless due to the low player count, CA and Untap would just be the same, albeit with updated cards and of course free. TLDR, what I am trying to get is that the base game is good. And you should experience it for yourself only when there is a good sale, 60 bucks ain’t it for me. As a gamer, there are better games worth 60 than DD. Don’t bother getting the dlc unless they have it on sale. If you are willing to forgo the coded features DD have, there are better and free alternative out there for you to experience online PVP. Hope bushi isn’t treating this game like some side quest. The game may die very soon. I would love if the dlcs come with some kind of new campaign to at least incentivize people to stick with DD rather than move on to the alternatives. Or give an option to improve the CPU’s deck list.

I got like 110 hours on steam, it's good for those who doesn't have access to locals or the real card, and it is a great game in general (hope we get something like this for premium in the future😢), but would i recommend it with that price and all the dlc for full experience? I'll be blunt, unless you reallyyy reallyyy REALLLYYY like vanguard, no, it is not worth it, hell, i even say that they are shameless to put that kind of price on this game when the competition offers more while costing less (pointing at rush duel and shadowverse), like compared to those the game feels barebone and low effort, and they cost you like a fuckton of money, the game don't even have the ost from the anime wtf (youthberk theme when?) At the very least sprinkle a lot of fanservice like ost, animation or something, but if you really like vanguard especially standard, money to spare and friends to play with, it is worth a try i guess

If you have no qualms with spending what you need to play it, then it's worth it. What I don't think is worth it is once some people start regretting said purchase, they use everything in their power to advertise the game as the best thing ever made since sliced bread, like you die in the game you die IRL taken to cult-like levels. I'd rather that person be honest and say, I'm not interested in getting into the IRL TCG and I don't trust CFA/TTS so I'm gonna get this, instead. I also don't find it comfortable to advertise in random social media platforms to use different regional accounts to lower the purchase price of the game, just leaves a bad taste.

I was very happy when this game came out. But this game is way to expensive. The fact that you have to pay more than $70 just to get access to the cards you want is insane. This game should've been like Master Duel. But it isn't. The game hasn't been updated in a year and the developers act like they don't care about the players. It's really sad.
