Hello hello! I am InsaneMonster, the author of the mod you are talking about in the video (Re-Reforged). There are many aspects of what you covered in the video that are not completely right. For instance, the vanilla reforged campaigns do add some stuff but it's true it's much less (by several order of magnitude) of what was promised and advertised. The graphics are not bad at all, so long the map is designed for them, but they might be a disadvantage in competitive play (but only at very high level). It's true that the art was outsourced, but the same was true for Starcraft Remastered which was a success. The models of Lemons Sky are very good, but it's evident that, as the whole product, their scope was changed later on in production. The map editor had several improvements and the game, while not as stable as classic, is in a pretty good shape and not too badly optimized (I work with it basically every day and I often push the game to its technical limits with my campaigns). Melee scene is active and game is quite alive, and there is a huge modding community over at HiveWorkshop, some of which specialize in high quality HD assets and fixing some broken models from the game (models lacking animations, etc, the unfinished unpolished stuff I mentioned earlier). For what concerns the EULA, it's a pretty standard EULA like SC2 one, so the outrage there is completely unjustified. It would be cool for once if some streamer/youtube would try to fully document itself by speaking with the community which work and plays each day this game. this game has filled my childhood with a sense of fun that no game today can make me feel. I spent hours playing this game, until my father limited my time to playing this game for weekends only. until now I still keep it just to remind me of the good times

Would assume they have a single part time project manager on it and a small budget based on sales for maintenance and updates, and that one guy does his best within the budget.

Quick headsup it was on sale in this years summer sale but i agree it makes little sense that they waited that long.

I consider a game bad when you can't proceed in campaign mode without it crashing every 2 minutes. I can't remember which mission it was, but it has left a sour taste in my mouth. WC3 was one of the most stable of games, so to see it turn into this was not nice. I hope they can resolve this.

I keep rehashing all the good times I had playing Reign of Chaos back in the day and I want to try it out again. After reading the reviews...I'm a little dismayed and I really hope that Blizzard will try to fix Warcraft 3 Reforged someday.

I wish they'd make a Warcraft 4. Make Gnomes, Dwarves, NE's and Humans. Orcs, Tauren, UD, Trolls. All playable races. Have a couple of different game modes. One that's more combat focused and another that's more city building / resource focused.

Can you swap between the old graphics and the new or is it locked in place? Warcraft 1+2 are on sale at GOG, and so is Warcraft 3 Reforged. I have Starcraft 1+2, Diablo 1+2, and was thinking of completing my Blizzard RTS collection with the original Warcrafts. If a guy was just interested in playing the campaign, is it worth it?

I wanted to get on warcraft just for the multiplayer competitive RTS (don't care about single player, custom games etc...). is it good? is there an active online community? can I find games easily at any rank? Is it possible to use mods to get better graphics playing on ranked online?

i know you cant advertise for this type of thing but in my honest opinion this game is not even worth pirating. if you must play wc3, sail the high seas and find the buried and forgotten treasure that original wc3 is. if you feel bad for pirating, just remember that Blizzard tried to completely replace the original wc3 with this monstrosity now known only as wc3 Refunded. That entire company has been infected, it must be purged.

stopped playing wc3 classic like over 10 years ago, marked my childhood, now i really wanted to experience it again in a fresher look, but unfortunately reforged is not getting any better

I recently just finished Starcraft 2 and found it to be one of the best games I have ever played and loved the writing and characters so much. It got me wishing Warcraft 3 reforged was in a better state. I don't care much about online, I just want to know if the campaign is good. Is it? Does it crash? Or is it worse than the original? I know Warcraft 3 was considered one of the best games ever, especially in the genre due to the writing, characters, and story.

STILL having the total crash issues in the main campaign. You CAN NOT finish the story and have not been able to for a long time now. Unless of course you use the skip mission cheat. For me it's the first mission in the Human campaign in the Frozen Throne missions. Of course I get it in other missions too.

The old graphics were way better. Units and icons are much easier to identify in the old one than the new one. The new one had really weird icons and sometimes you can't even tell what unit you are clicking.

Anyone have a solution for the constant fps stutter (minfreeze every 1.5 seconds)? Lowering the graphics settings has no effect.

An insightful look almost "from outside" - so many people forget that their experiences are limited, and new players may have different concepts altogether! Would you like Re-Reforged models to look like WC3, but with more polygons - the way those assets look that were released for SC2 in 2015? As for me, I played WC3 in 2002 when I was for all intents and purposes a toddler, then completed the campaign in 2012 on a laptop, then watched eSports on and off, and finally in 2023 am getting in proper 1v1... trying out Undead because micro feels amazing (and the Bnet playerbase is surprisingly silver-tier, unlike BW which is a brick wall to get into). I will correct you, however, that at 17:00 you're spreading fake news - IIRC, Blizzard had always claimed ownership over the custom maps. The EULA change is as fake as claiming that "Blizzard shut down Nostalrius" - it's fine to blame them, but for the right things. But yeah, all the animu custom maps are in place, nobody is taking them away. I want to play Lordaeron: The Aftermath, too, if it doesn't crash too much. - Adûnâi

I think I'll answer that question with another question is any game that has been remastered, by another rather than the previous one even worth play in 2023? I can't really answer that as all I play is minecraft these days. If this didn't help, then I got nothing else for you. I mean any "esports" games aren't worth playing for me. I rather stick to my single player experiences.

I saw the updated graphics. Its not worth $40.00 I can tell you that now. We shouldnt have to load mods and patches for a AAA game for as long as it has been out. Nov. had a patch nad its running horribly. No. Its not worth the space on one's hard drive. And you were right, the UI to select maps is HORRIBLE

Not only is it reforged. But if you want to play classic you still have to download 30-40 gb of content when you just wanna use 3-4gb like earlier. Blizzard not updating the reforged is a big fk you to the community because of the refunds.

The fact Blizzard wont just give us a clean start Warcraft game after the TWENTY FLIPPING YEARS of feedback their customer base has given them. The Warcraft players ARE the Diablo, Starcraft and WoW players, and there is not one person that played the Frozen Throne and didn't want that to grow into this era alongside Diablo. World of Warcraft made Blizzard decide for all time that the Warcraft franchise is a dead duck unworthy of their time or attention. Absolutely moronic company.
