I overlooked It and had a complaint that most of the enimies take forever to kill. I know it's a dumb excuse but when you need to grind a lot it can get repetitve and boring. the world design and artstyle looks cool. Though I didn't care that much for rex.

@@jonahabenhaim1223 bad take my guy i bought it back in 2019 never touched it until i heard that XBC3 releases and then i said to myslef:" i wanna finish the 2nd entry of the series before XBC3 gets released" and boi let me tell you i played 110 hours in a couple of days finished the game did everything possible in the first run and instantly started doing new game+ am now in chapter 4 again while playing XBC3 so ye dont try to sit on your excuses to miss out this wonderful JRPG

I found several flaws in this game. No one seem to mention but give high praises. I like XC1 better in term of story, battle mechanics and quests.

Aren't most JRPG's out of context? Just look at earlier 'Xeno' games on PS2, it was rated mature and drew backlash for religious themes/symbols as was Shin Megami Tensei. Once you understand what the games were all about, you would come to realise and understand design choices. Anyone who skipped XBC2 purely because of watching out of context clips has never played a JRPG in their life.

Not saying it is as good as Xenoblade, but if you are of the few who wont scream at people who like SAO series stuff then SAO Hr and SAO Fb are pretty good. I agree, the anime is trash on certain points but the video games are pretty good

It... takes awhile. I was in the same boat as you, the story was good but not really that engaging (the world seemed cooler then what was going on), was still getting tutorials, still haven't unlocked everything, wasn't able to fully take advantage of the combat system, etc. Then I got to the point where Everything was unlocked, I got how to actually do battles effectively, and everything clicked into place. It was also around the time when the story really started to pick up as well. And I realized just how engaging every aspect of the game was and was in love with it. I suddenly wanted to interact with the ungodly amount of different advancement systems, and actually cared about them. It was sad I was some 30+ hours into the game when that happened, but I also haven't been that invested in a game and a world since some of the original SNES RPGs, and one of the few recent-ish games I still think back on with fondness. It truly is a game that you to have to invest in personally. But by the end, you get a ton back on.

Hum... 40? 50? Don't worry the story get better more you progress.

I think the back half of Xenoblade 2 is where the bulk of the best stuff is. Even more than with Xenoblade 1.

@L Nice! I'm looking forward to it. And thx buddy. I'm not one to quit easily, so I'm gonna keep on going. If anything, I do like the battle system now that I know how to do blade combos, chains, and lvl IV specials. At first, it seemed pretty convoluted and so much info to take in, and it didn't help that the tutorials were pretty bad, but I now that I have it figured out, battles feel much smoother and fast paced. As for the story, I get some chuckles and I feel interested in it here and there, and right now I'm really loving Nia and Tora....So for Nia and Tora, I will keep playing.

I actually think the post game combat of Xenoblade 2 is still the peak. Ouroboros isn't as satisfying as pulling off fusion combos. Chain attacks in Xenoblade 3 is better, but it also takes so long and basically trivializes all fights if you have a good setup.

I actually believe the chain attacks in 3 are actually the worse mechanic of all the Xenoblade games lol They took so long, with no way to speed them up, and you just waste so much time watching the same animations for 80 hours, it's actually horrible. They took like 50% of the time of battle and the only thing you do is pick a card every 20 seconds.

I just finished this yesterday. It has something to do with XC1. Story might not be good as 1 but it's depend on you. Battle mechanic would be hard to get use to. There are 2 bosses that will frustrate you. I won't say where. KZfaq would help you on that and also luck. Switch tactics is what I call it. There are flaws within XC2. You find out by playing it. As always, grind, grind and grind. Also, collect. I'm getting ready to play XC3.

What are the biggest differences in the translation?

I was writing a big answer to this and accidentally erased it so sorry for lack of details now but: Names were completely changed (Pyra/Homura, Mythra/Hikari, Dromarch/Byakko, Brighid/Kagutsuchi, stupid long etc.). This also applies to places such as the titans, Elysium/Rakuen and terms (Aegis/Ten no Seihai -Heavenly Holy Grail-) and others. A lot of sexual innuendos were very toned down or completely taken away. Very common with Tora and Hana/Poppi, but happens in a fair amount of dialogues in the game. Also, there's a fair amount of religious terms that they decided to take out (this is very present in name changes too. For instance, the titans are named after the seven deadly sins). Finally they took a lot of liberties when translating stuff, though admittedly not changing the plot as a whole or anything like that, but playing the game with japanese voices and english text, it was fairly common for me to listen to stuff that was not quite the same to what I was reading. All in all, it's not so atrocious that it ruins the game or something like that. At the end of the day, the story is there which is the most important part. But they did take a ton of liberties, maybe a bit too much in things they really didn't need to (just like anime translators back then used to change character names). It's okay to take a couple liberties, and sometimes might be even necessary, but Xenoblade 2 does it a bit too much. Xenoblade 1 did it too, but it wasn't nearly as bad. Good news is that I'm currently playing Xenoblade 3, and so far it's been pretty good (they do take some liberties, but most of them are reasonable, and I don't think I've spotted changed dialogue so far). For starters, in Xenoblade 3, all the main cast have their original names.

Fun is the opposite word I’d use for this game. A good game, yes, but not exactly “fun” to play, at least in my opinion.

@@David-ro1sb I played it for over 140 hours, I got pretty hooked, wanted to do the blade quests all the time. I had a lot of fun with its combat mechanics and with blade collecting (except for the freaking KOS-MOS xD). I would never call "good" a game that is not fun.

@@mazinrobox2546 a game can be objectively good (by metrics) and still be not fun. This game is a perfect example. It does nothing unique that I couldn’t get quicker and better elsewhere. Again, it’s not bad, just completely overrated.

Xenosaga also had Booby lasers, and Shion making Kos-Mos's boobs bigger.. XB1 has Lorithia, Tyrea, Vanea, and Meyneth all of whom have fan service type designs, and even Fiora and Sharla have plenty of fan service type elements to their designs. XBX has Goetia, Ryyz, Nahum, Ga Buidhe, and Ga Bewhe for fanservice type characters. 2 has the Pyra/Mythra, Blade Nia, Brighid, Poppins Qtp, Pandoria, Dahlia, Herald, Kora, Newt, Nim, Perun, Praxis, Sheba, Theory, Vale, and Zenobia. Poppi Qt doesn't count, just because she's in a maid outfit doesn't mean it's fanservicey and is in fact actually quite modest. Does 2 have more fanservice type characters? Yes but it also has the highest amount of female cast members of all the games with 3 being the only game that ever comes close to matching the amount of female characters 2 has. Counting only significant female characters or one's that play at least some significant role. 1 only has 7 significant female characters in the game. X has 21 half of which are probably only are minor NPCs and not significant characters, I don't know how many are actually important. 3 has 31 significant female characters, including returning characters Nia, Melia, all the female consuls despite the fact that only P, M, I, and X are really the only ones with a significant role in the story, the fake queens who aren't even actual characters and are instead just mindless dolls, and the upcoming 4 female founders who we haven't seen yet. If you don't include all the female consuls in other words H,R, U and W who don't play that big a role in any of the hero quests, the fake queens, and the 4 female founders that number drops down to 20. 2 meanwhile has 30 significant female characters not including Iona who does play a major role in the main story but doesn't actually do much, Pneuma, Blade Nia, Poppi Qt, Qtp, and mk2 who are simply a super mode for Pyra/Mythra, true form for Nia, and super modes and remote control doll for Poppi respectively, and returning female characters from other games. If you do include them then that number jumps up to 40, and even discounting alternate forms that is still 35. 3 easily has the least amount of fanservice to date, and while there is still a tiny bit like Ethels boob window, Alexandria and her sleeves that have a cut out to show her armpits, as well as wearing tights in place of pants, the Agnian Off seer outfit only covers about half the chest, and Masha. All rather minor things though compared to the other series except Masha. Honestly I think the only reason most people complain about 2's fanservice is that there is both a significantly larger amount of female characters in 2 and that their outfits are way more vibrant and so stand out more compared to the dull color pallette of 1 and X characters.

I agree. This is my favorite Xenoblade game with the most generic protagonist. I think part of it though is that he’s supposed to be fifteen years old, so he lacks the identity that he could develop as a man. For me, it was all of the other characters and the world-building that did it for me.

Never felt slow to me, building your character moments is good for writing, it really set the tone of the game perfectly. Tell me one way you could improve chapter 1 and 2, I actually believe they are well paced, and each chapter ends with a banger moment making you want more.

@@andr0zzsenpai chapter 1 and 2 can be slow while being well paced. Most of the things that make it slow is the restrictive battle system because until half way into chapter 2 you only have 1 blade and 1-2 party members (and the tutorial does not help.) Chapter 1 had enough story moments to keep you going, but chapter 2 is a lot more slow story wise. I didn't realize this until I saw my sister play the game. She dropped the game half way through chapter 2 because she wasn't interested in the game. It wasn't until I got her to get to chapter 3 that she started caring about it.

They don't print any new copies and stores already sold all their physical copies. So in a way, yes.
