My wife and I were discussing "Yellowstone" and joked that the Dutton family ranch was run like a Montana Mafia. :-D

One of the best scenes is when the ranchers face off against the bikers, definitely had that Bronx tale vibe about it. Whatever you do you don't want to take that ride to the train station.

I started watching 1883, it’s being released now in Australia, it is the prequel to the Dutton set in the 19th Century with a pioneer wagon trail from Fort Worth. The writing and the cinematography is fantastic. The Duttons in 1883 are really good and a tough functioning family. I can’t get enough each week so I’m binge watching Yellowstone. The same family in 2018~19ish

The Yellowstone Series is incredibly written as well as directed. One of Kevin Cosner's best roles. The Dutton Family works just like a mafia family.🕶 Can hardly wait for the next Season.

This show and Michael comparing the Mafia reminds me of the stories I listened to growing up in Central Coast of California, where some of the local ranching families helped move booze for the LA Mob during Prohibition.

Mayor of Kingstown is a great show along the same lines...I think my parents sheltered me so much about the judical system, prison and law enforcement system-its so complicated and often becomes corrupt. This show "Mayor of Kingstown"-is SO GOOD. I cant wait for the next season, check it out!

I binged the whole show in a week just to watch this video! Love the Dutton family and what they stand for. The opposite of “progress”. What a great message that we need right now.

I was raised on a ranch in Wyoming, and when I watched a few episodes Yellowstone with my wife I told her it was like cowboy Sopranos lol I can't really take the show seriously because of how fake all of that is. I'm fascinated with the mob because my upbringing was basically the complete opposite of that life.

I’m so glad you brought this show up, Michael! I’ve always been a HUGE Taylor Sheridan fan, first saw him on Sons of Anarchy. The first movie he wrote was one of the best movies to come out in the last twenty years, it’s called Sicario with Josh Brolin and Benecio del Toro. He also made Wind River, Hell or High Water, and then he started Yellowstone. This is one of the grittiest, thrilling shows on TV right now, BY FAR. I was so excited to get Michael’s perspective on it, I clicked this video in a hot second!

I haven't watch Yellowstone yet but I've watched all of 1883, and it's been fantastic. Tim McGraw and Faith have been awesome for not being full time actors. And you are right Michael, the Government is the new mafia.

I really gotta say that Yellowstone surprised me ....and in a positive way. I went into it with some doubt but it sucked me into it deep really fast. It is a great show, sometimes a little slower, but man, when Beth is on the screen, she steals it completely ..Beth is a greatest female character I've ever seen in a movie/tv show...the actress should've gotten an Oscar/Golden globe for this role. Fuqqqin amazing

Agree! BTW, Lee Dutton, John Dutton's 1st born son died in season 1. Yellowstone checks off all the best in actors and Taylor Sheridan writing abilities are next level, same goes for Kurt Sutter in Sons Of Anarchy & Mayans M.C. another mafia-esque by earned patches and loyalty. I imagine when Yellowstone ends we'll be in morning because you get so bonded to these characters, same with Sons Of Anarchy I still miss the club members!

Sir, Taylor Sheridan is a terrific writer and a damn good director. You should try watching Wind River and Hell or High Water if you haven't watched it yet. Both are great movies of their own!

truth be told Michael, I watched about 2 episodes of Yellowstone...however with twin toddlers and I'm the retired stay at home dad I didn't keep watching, just to busy n such. Me and the Ol'lady tho have been steadfast in catching the prequal show 1883 and plan to binge Yellowstone afterwards...✌🏻
