Thank you for this video, also thanks for sympathizing with us who just found out we have treated amethyst!!! So i love the fact that when you held up the natural citrine point....you could perfectly see riiiight thru it and you could see the very detailed wallpaper behind you! It was so cool to see the wallpaper shine thru the point like that!!!

Citrine's one of my favorite stones. I have a piece of heat-treated citrine that is a dark orange color and it is gorgeous but I do prefer natural citrine. I have a few pieces of smokey citrine that I love.

Just to correct you on it's origin: Citrine can also be found in, Colombia, Katanga, San Cristobal, Antananarivo Province, Madagascar; Salamanca, Spain; and Dauphine, France,Northern Ural Mountains of Russia...just to name a few! So for people thinking, oh no, mine didn't come from Africa, it's ok! There's other places in the world with Citrine!

Thank you! Love your channel! Can you please do a video on how they (books, sages, etc) know which stones do what? For example, how do they know that certain stones do certain things? How do they come to this conclusion? Is there a scientific explanation ? Can you PLEASE do a video on that?

Thank you so much. I just bought a chunk of citrine off Ebay (and I've had enough experience with Ebay to know you could be getting anything) and on receipt I immediately wondered if I had glass. It's a big chunk with a lot of crackling inside, otherwise similar appearing to your clear piece. I was so sure your clear piece was the fake! Now, I still don't know what I have for sure. It could easily be glass. But your info. is a big help.

I'm a Geology student on Nebraska, so watching this does make me interested in fake vitrine crystals, however, I would like to know why you you think that the large quartz point is Citrine and not clear rock quartz. And I thought it was interesting when you said that real genuine quartz comes from Africa only, but most of my textbooks, books and sources say that citrine originates in places such as Africa, but also Brazil (along with the beautiful Amethyst quartz), Madagascar, and from Russia. 2 main sources I take this from is The rock book by Carroll Lane Fenton and Mildred Adams Fenton. and a nature guide series book called Simon and Schuster's guide to Rocks and Minerals. I did find this informative and thank you for your time to make it.

Hello there Aaron , I'm a Geological engineer student and let me tell you that the big one he has in there is clear rock quartz FOR SURE , what makes citrine itself is the iron in the hidrothermal process and well about the source of quartz theres a mine here in Panama near the university i study so you can find quartz anywhere there was a very acid volcanic activity not only in a few countryes

I'm starting to think that large citrine point I've bought from the El Dorado Rock and Gem show is a fake because like you said, the colors of fake citrine can contrast with white along with golden yellow, orange, or brown.

Ok, so now i know what I have is Actually Amethyst, not citrine... which is usually what I'm drawn to anyway (my favorite, i even named my daughter Amethyst!). That tricky lil rock! So my question is.... Since it's been heat treated, are the properties still the same as a regular amethyst or is it ruined or what?
@TheRealHonestInquiry
@TheRealHonestInquiry 4 жыл бұрын
According to my very limited research, the heat-treatment changes the properties and the vibrations of it just like anything else that is artificially modified by humans. I'm not yet sensitive enough to pick up the vibrational difference but those who are experienced say that they can tell by that alone.

Thanks a lot. How can you tell the difference between Hematite and natural Citrine?
@seekershouse
@seekershouse 9 жыл бұрын
Well, hematite is a very dark stone... Usually a silverish black. Also Hematite can be mined from several places, while natural citrine primarily comes from Africa. Most stone sellers should be able to tell you where their product originates, when in doubt.

Which one gives you the most energy? The darker one is lower grade?
@seekershouse
@seekershouse 8 жыл бұрын
+Jimi Hendrix I wouldn't consider the darker piece to be lower grade, it's just a smaller piece (I actually have two more of those). There are a few crystals that come in a "smoky" form, including Quartz. With the way people appraise diamonds I could understand that way of thinking, but I admire some natural variation.

But can I still use fake citrine? When they heat it up, does it change the metaphysical properties any?
@just_a_dragon
@just_a_dragon 6 жыл бұрын
According to most, you can still use heat treated citrine for most of the commonly known and used types of metaphysical practices. However, they in general are much weaker and less pure than real citrine.
@Krizzie_bee
@Krizzie_bee 6 жыл бұрын
i was wondering the same, but not for using it as a citrine, but using as an amethyst, since thats what it is. So can a "fake citrine" still be used as a regular Amethyst, even though it's been heated?
@just_a_dragon
@just_a_dragon 6 жыл бұрын
many pieces of heat-treated amethyst still contain some normal amethyst, if it is in a reasonable quantity you can see some purple like color in the crystal. when it is not visible there might still be some amethyst left in the crystal. but when amethyst is heat-treated the structure of the crystal changes, so it is actually different from natural amethyst but still there often is real amethyst left in heat-treated amethyst. and so you can still use it as a very unpure amethyst, however real amethyst isn't hard to get and often is less expensive as fake citrine. I most cases if you can recognise the frequency of amethyst you can use heat-treated amethyst as amethyst when there is no other amethyst available, the same goes for when you don't care about or also need the citrine energy.
