Japans yen being worth less than a robux isnt due to any modern policy, although once upon a time in 1900 its value was locked to the same amount of gold as USD. It got devalued over the course of the world wars and they just kept it. since 1955 its inflated much less than USD. Frankly it doesnt really matter how much one of your currency is worth, as long that value isnt decreasing dramatically.

@@NaThingSerious Actually it does not mean even that, or at least not necessarily, even if it is often the case. The currency is really an arbitrary measure. While you are right that _changes_ in the exchange rates between two currencies are indeed related to difference in inflation, the basic value could have any arbitrary value due to whatever historical trajectory. One reason for the discrepancy from historical inflation and the present value is the value _before_ renouncing to the gold standard, that was fully arbitrary. In Europe for example there were countries that before renouncing to the gold standard where using as unit of currency "one pound [of silver]", while in Florence they were using un "Fiorino" (3.5g) of gold - with a very different value. A second reason for discrepancy is what you are mentioning, that is that a country can decide to randomly reset their currency to some multiple, creating a strong version worth 100 or 1000 times more than the previous one, just to have more manageable numbers. So two countries could exchange 1 to 1000 today while having the same exact inflation history, it is just that one at some point multiplied their currency by one thousand and one did not. It is really just a random number.

There’s actually a really good reason why Spain and Mexico have separate anime dubs. Unlike English, where a few words are changed here and there, entire phrases mean completely different things, due to their different cultures. A lot of completely normal phrases in European Spanish are completely obscene in Latin American Spanish. So it makes sense to use your own unique dub for an anime rather than one from the other side of the world, even if it’s the same language.

I'm pretty sure that most countries have a younger legal age for marriage than people think, usually because they associate it to the legal age of consent which is different. A lot of countries have specific criteria for marriages when it comes to minors, like "both families must agree to the marriage of their children" or "the girl or boy must be at least x years old", it's kind of old fashioned but it still is present since actual weddings for such cases are so rare that people don't even considere them a possibility. Even on the event that everyone in both families give their blessing to the marriage of their children, like 99.9% percent of the time they'll say "let's wait until you both are at least 16/18 and then we'll have the wedding prepared", and people getting married is already declining in recent years so the scarcity of such cases pretty much makes them nonexistent.

I can really see your point, magical demented ice fairy! - But I feel this still quite-happens much more often than you may think/ wrote it as in here Look, for example, in my country there were atleast till of very late, pretty common the practice of arranged (even if at times very illegal) weddings around the place that I used to live in. These weddings had included up to 13 year olds being 'promiced' to more older and wealthier parteners, till said child would grow up to the minimum age of 16 - which also of late was the age a person can legally marry with anybody that they _'like'_ , provided parental consented. Oh lord, I am not here to debate what's the age one should be able to consent and or marry- these age rules are tricky without provided that they do also let such practices be contiuned, and as by their nature spiral in other ways which affect one's life significantly; There are multiple other istances and examples/scenarios these marriage rules/age of consent rules play a part in, So I want to say that I feel this type of attitude, of "brushing them off", and saying that "it is such a low margine, you could not even count it", even _if_ infact this is a very low margine, such is quite irresponsible, at times very damaging and an imprudent way of dealing and seeing it I believe Even if they are infact very rare, and the times where such arrangements are done too early for the well being of a child are even rarer, there are still lifes which would be really affected by this which can't be brushed over, and 0.1% out of 8 bilion of us are still around 8.000.000 people (but I think you took that procent for more context/shock, not persay from a study as I do that a bit too lol)

In my country mariage age is 18 and consent age is 15, it's strange for me that there are places that could have this other way around.
@MayhemEverFree
@MayhemEverFree 10 ай бұрын
@@oightKoreraAreEditable Yeah that's the tricky part, as much as marriage is romanticised as "two people who love each other choose to spend the rest of their lives together" when it comes to minors it's usually a financial or political play pulled by their parents to arrange a link between families, to share and expand some degree of influence through the union of their children and a wealthier or more powerful person. At the end of the day marriage is a social contract, so there will be people who try to profit from it one way or another. The closest exposure I've had with this wedding arrangements would be the "Quinceañeras", which is a celebration focused on girls who turn 15 years old to mark the transition from "little girls" to "women/ladies" and therefore eligible for marriage, so they would make a big party to pretty much announce publicly "Hey! Look over here! This girl is 15 now so if anyone is interested come and say hi" and that way men from different families could meet up as potential husbands for that girl. My country is one of the few Latin American countries where this tradition is not really a thing and girls turning 15 means nothing special, and I know that most countries that hold this events to celebrate girls turning 15 don't do it to engage their daughters to a random husband, they simply do it as a tradition and the whole event is merely symbolic since they couldn't get married legally anyway until they get older, but it just goes to show how even nowadays there are a ton of places where all of this arrangements to have children engaged for marriage has been extremely common, for better and worse. It sucks that in most cases it's parents selfishly giving away their children for their own convenience.
@MayhemEverFree
@MayhemEverFree 10 ай бұрын
@@Darwidx I can see the logic on both sides. On one hand people can argue that a really young legal age for marriage helps with parents properly making arrangements for marriage to secure "good candidates", with that you can avoid having your kids getting married to someone who your family doesn't approve, and in the process it passively forces children to mature more quickly, since they have to already be on the mental state of projecting things like having a job, being well educated and take responsibility in the future. On the other hand, people can argue against early marriage on the grounds that marriage is a long term commitment that shouldn't be carelessly approached, so ideally the people who should be getting married should be those that are already more mature and can actually want to make that decision on their own, instead of being arranged beforehand. When it comes to the age of consent, it's usually related to the psychological view on when the mind fully develops the ability to make completely rational decisions and take responsibility, and cultural or societal views on when you are "no longer a child" and therefore you can understand that your actions have consequences and have a good grasp on right and wrong, which varies from place to place in relation to how people approach the education of children about such topics. Just to use myself as an example, I was 16 when I entered college and I personally never been interested in drinking and partying, but I could see other students around the age of 19 to 25 getting absolutely wasted and making fools of themselves even while sober, if someone were to tell me at that time that I am not mentally capable to be responsible for my actions yet and need to wait two more years before I can call myself an "adult" but all those other students rolling on the floor downing bottle after bottle of liquor are actually more "mentally developed" I would've laughed on the spot. I think I'm sounding slightly narcissistic here XD the point is that the age of consent ends up being a reference point for the most part, it's not a mathematical law that applies to all humans during their development. I personally would prefer if the legal age for everything could be 18 just to drop the whole discussion worldwide about specific ages, but I can see why some people like some things to be forbidden until a later age and other things allowed for an earlier age. Like I still find it baffling that the legal drinking age in the USA is 21 and also find it baffling how some places have no regulations when it comes to drinking.

People think that the value of a country's currency is more important than it actually is, here in Canada, we frequently intentionally devalue our dollar so that we can keep having beneficial trade with the US (our products just wouldn't be competitive on the American market if our dollars were worth the same). As a general rule, so long as your currency isn't in freefall like Venezuela, you're fine.

2:30 basically, Spanish in Latin America and Castilian Spanish (the one spoke in Spain) is really widely different, even if it's core is the same. So that's why. And there's a very agitated debate over which of the dubs is better. There's the fact also that Spanish accents just sound so different across continents that people at the other side many times can't understand the accent of the other.

I think the main reason is that in the Spanish World there is not a clear media hegemony from one country. If you think about the English word, the heterogeneity of accents is not so different from the Spanish world. But the difference is that there is a clear media winner among the accents, and everyone speaking English _assumes_ that products are dubbed in American English. If there was a dub of an anime in Australian English or Irish English it would be _immediately_ dubbed again in American English.

Argentina only had one referendum in its entire history, and it was voted in 1902 by... AROUND 90 PEOPLE. Welsh settlers decided if they wanted to be part of Argentina or part of Chile; only 6 voted for Chile. Technically it wasn't an "Argentinian" referendum. I'll never get to vote in one.

Yen and won arent broken into smaller sections like dollar is broken into cents thats why they are worth less than robux because they are basicly cents. Comparing them in the same line should be done with 100 yen or 1000 won (or compared yen/won to cent)

You don’t jump because your relative speed to the falling elevator doesn’t stop when it hits the ground. So let’s say the elevator is falling at 20 meters a second, when you jump, your are still moving at 20 meters a second, but the elevator floor is not, so you would still be falling at 20 meters a second. That’s why I think, idk if I’m right

About the accent thing with Spain and latin america, the problem is that Spanish as a whole is way more heavily affected by accent because everything it's ready as it's written, meaning that there are many interpretations of the same word, and second, spanish has way more synonym than english, so long story short, they need to adapt them localy.

The currency thing is dumb.. The Danish Krone is locked to always be 7.45-7.51 Kroner per 1 Euro - That doesn't mean the currency is worth less, just that the denominations are set differently. Danes are just used to 1 DKK being basically nothing, and any coin below 0.50 DKK does not exist as valid currency - And it is being discused to just ditch fractional coins entirely
