Enlightenment. Attempting to get rid of a part of yourself is painful. Accept it and yourself. Dive into it. Learn more about yourself. You have all the tools inside. So then you can leave your temple and answer other people prayers.

Thanks for this video. Oh wow l can see and feel im full of the self hate and rejection motivation rather than love.. I had the rejection of my emotions constantly as a child and its so ingrained and i have an anxiety disorderwhich feels like so scary that i am trying to avoid the feeling of anxiety and all my feelings really seem unsafe. My brain thinks feelings must be avoided because i have so much anxiety, so i go into my head to try to eradicate anxiety intellectually...of course it doesnt work so im on medication...which cant help the situation in reality. Its a conundrum as my view of myself and in my mind others respect snd even God's love for me seems in my mind to be contingent on my not being anxious....but i am so its a cycle of self suppression and more anxiety and panic as the real feelings are still there despite my efforts to hide and control them. Where to begin?

Excellent guidance, and much appreciated. From my limited understanding, serious pain that was instilled early in life is rarely resolved. It appears to be inaccessible using known methods, so nearly everyone burdened in this way find "secondary solutions" to help them minimize the negative effects that deeply buried pain causes. I often wonder what would happen if we found a way to fully reverse such wounds in a relatively brief period of time? I imagine that doing so would completely alter a person's behavior in a healthy, sustainable way. Maybe someday.......

My experience is that healing is similar to peeling the layers of an onion. With each layer that we heal, our nervous system gets more calm, and we gain access to another deeper layer (earlier memory). It's not a quick solution, but it is definitely possible to heal our early life traumas.

What about if you are constantly being reinforced by people around you that certain qualities are lovable, and others are not. When people give you special treatment and attention when you show certain qualities
@NoahElkrief
@NoahElkrief 3 ай бұрын
For me, it could be about explaining to my inner child that people can only like/love the qualities about you that they can like/love within themselves. So, when someone likes or dislikes something about you, it says more about them than you. For my adult self, I would make sure that I only let people close to me who are able to like/love all my parts. It doesn't feel good to be around people who don't accept some of my parts.

Is self-hatred itself any different of an emotion? Should it also be embraced?
@NoahElkrief
@NoahElkrief 2 ай бұрын
It depends on whether it is current or old. If we currently believe the hatred then it is something to disbelieve. If we don't believe it anymore and it is just a remnant feeling creating by an old belief, then we embrace it and let it move through us. If we embrace the self-hatred as an emotion, and let it be expressed, but it persists... then we know it's creating by something we still believe.

I usually feel bad and want to hide my anxiety when it's a result of drinking too much or if it's related to health anxiety. I feel ashamed in the first scenario due to feeling like I lack self control and the second scenario since I'm afraid I'm going to die or need medical treatment and had bad experiences as a child and feel like a scared child again that my parents can't seem to calm down instead of relate to and accept.

Thanks for answering my question Noah, I really appreciate your response :) i have one more question if you don't mind. Have you ever had the experience of crying but not feeling anything? I remember when my cat died a few years ago, i was bawling but I didn't actually feel any emotion or sadness while crying, it felt really strange. I've had other occasions where I've been bawling but didn't feel sadness or anything at all actually, do you have any advice on how I can feel my emotions in these situations, i don't like feeling numb
@NoahElkrief
@NoahElkrief 3 ай бұрын
I think it's about meeting your fears of feeling emotions. For example, you could imagine yourself as a child feeling a particular emotion, and remember or intuitively sense how your parents viewed you or treated you while you experienced that particular emotion. Then, give your inner child love while they experience this particular emotion and explain to them that his parents couldn't love him while he had that emotion because they couldn't love themselves while having that emotion.

Hey Noah, how can I connect with confident people in society? I find it hard to connect with many people because most people seem so confident, it makes me feel like an alien almost lol. I can imagine myself connecting with people who are more vulnerable and not as confident but obviously no one wants to say they're not feeling confident lol.
@NoahElkrief
@NoahElkrief 3 ай бұрын
I think what you perceive as confident people are just emotionally suppressed people. When emotions are suppressed very deep, a person is less sensitive, and can appear more solid/confident. But, that is definitely not confidence. My perspective is that you can't have genuine connection with a person who is not genuinely connected to themselves and their emotions. So, perhaps, it might be worth considering seeking friends who are sensitive like you.

People see me as confident and some feel intimidated by me. However, I am in a perpetual state of feeling unsure. I think most real people are like this - no one has lived this moment before and no one has many answers that make sense for anyone but themselves. I go back again and again to Noah's "you are allowed to be happy" and "are you attached to suffering".
