Is Your Minelab Manticore Falsing in Water? Here's A Quick Fix...

The Minelab Manticore began falsing on me as soon as installed the M15 coil and began using it in water. This is thought to be an issue that only happens in saltwater, but as this video will show, it's happening in freshwater as well. In the video I explain one of the ways to stop the coil from falsing. This problem is believed to be happening with their M11 and M9 coils, as wel as on their Equinox 700, 800 and 900 series of detectors.

some beaches here in oz are very mineralized and have red reef rocks,i found an improvement when hunting these types of beach useing all terrain high conductors odd i know but the frequency,s must be lower on that mode.its still deep i can get sens up to 24 in this mode only 19 in saltwater mode,give it a go see if it works for you.

Good to know, I will give that a try. Any mode other than beach mode, you should be able to run the stabilizer, but that does lose a bit of depth. Here we have hot rocks every now and then in the sand underbottom, I maybe find a dozen each summer. but the real challenge is the black sand, which acts like a stratified layer of black sand, and in our fresh water beaches, it can be concentrated in both low surf or in neck deep depths.

I had the same problems with the equinox 600 and 800 and that’s why i bought the Excalibur 2 for in the salt sea.

Its pretty bad in salt water, has trouble with chains too. wish minelabs would fix it without sacrificing gold or silver and depth. good review by the way. 👍

Sorry to hear about that man. It's odd to me that a machine with a sensitivity range of 35 has to be dropped to less than half to make sure it doesn't encounter this problem. I agree with you that it eventually does mean sacrificifcing depth and good quality targets. Happy Hunting bud!

@@thebountyfisher yeah me too, eq800 never had that problem neither does my excallibur or pi machine. Paid a lot of money to be ahead of the game to have this kind of trouble. I keep thinking how much gold am I missing due to this issue.

@@Tedinthephilippines sorry to hear man, I am also disappointed overall, but I imagine we are a very low percentage of customers who use their machines in the water, so they'd likely rather hide the issue than fix it.

@@thebountyfisher no doubt, but if enough complain they will. too much falsing in salt water. its tough to know which ones to dig sometimes. Wish my surfmaster pi was still working. i did awesome with that. floppy coil though.

@@Tedinthephilippines I've tried. Minelab have long been using their "influencers" and "detexperts" like attack mutts. As soon as you try to post about an issue online, they gaslight and turn the tables, saying you're the problem, not the machine. The only thing we can do is share our experiences and help each other out, because this company doesn't give a rats ass about it's customers after they've taken our money.
